We called Family Air because of a loud buzzing sound coming from our condenser. Our system is less than 3 years old in a new construction home. We stopped using the builder's recommended AC company because they didn't seem thorough when checking issues. Family AIr installed a new unit in our old house several years ago and we are happy to continue using them. Gerardo came out today and spent two hours checking the condenser outside and our unit up in the attic.
He found that we were down a couple of pounds on coolant and in the attic, he found out our unit was losing power intermittently due to a loose outlet. He mentioned that the noise may have been due to the electrical issue. He walked the whole house, checking temps at all of the vents. I don't believe we've ever had such a thorough tech sent out. Gerardo is polite, conscientious and is great at what he does. Always happy to recommend Family Air!

Wonderful company! We used them to install our HVAC several years ago. Not only did they have the best price, they were very personal, professional, non-salesmen-y, and quick. Since then, whenever we need an urgent repair they are able to get there within the day or next. Their service call price is very reasonable, and they are in and out very quickly. If you are looking for any type of HVAC installation/service, I highly recommend this company!

Very responsive, thorough and professional. Our old air conditioner broke just as temperatures were forecast to hit 100. Kurt was at our house the very next day and had seven different estimates for us to choose from. He helped us make a choice, and before the temperatures began to climb, our new air conditioner and furnace were installed. The two men who installed it were professional, focused, quick and friendly. They answered all our questions and left our garage and outside area completely clean. We could not imagine better service. Thank you!

Family Air has fixed the HVAC on two houses for me. Both were "serviced" by at least 3 other companies each who failed to properly diagnose the problems while giving ridiculous estimates for unnecessary repairs or replacement of the units. Family Air was honest and straightforward. Their best tech Rick, who is now the service manager was persistent in the diagnoses and traced to problem to a bad solder joint on an electronic control board thus saving me ~$15K.

I don't generally post reviews but have had such positive experiences with the hvac techs at Family Air that I just had to post a review. I own a home inspection business and use Family Air for my personal home. Their techs are always honest and their company always charges a fair price. Gerardo came to my home yesterday for the $89 tune up. He was at my home for almost two hours and showed me that the capacitor on my blower motor was needing replacement.
He went through every component of my system and even left me with some complimentary passes to attend a local event. I can't say enough about their customer service from scheduling call to maintenance techs and would highly recommend their services for anyone looking to get great service at a more than fair price.

Family Air did an amazing job troubleshooting our HVAC issues that could not be resolved by the company that we purchased the system from. They reinstalled our HVAC system after it had been removed to install a new roof on the house and it runs more efficiently than it did previously. We also purchased a mini split system from them and it works perfectly on the second floor of our house. Highly recommend the team at Family Air.

We are very happy with the service we received from the Family Air Cooling and Heating company. They kept us informed by email and phone who the service tech was and when he would arrive at our home. The estimate of service was spot on, and our service tech was very friendly and knowledgeable about HVAC systems. If you are looking for honest service and great customer care, give them a call.

In the heat wave of spring we came home to an inside heatwave, calling one of the services that heavily advertise, we arranged for them to come out the next afternoon, upon inspection of our HVAC he immediately diagnosed the problem a stuck valve, he then called his boss to see if the part was available, but then suddenly reversed his initial replace the valve with we would need to replace the whole HVAC system (he had just told us the system was in great shape except the valve) when we asked if the valve could just be replaced he said yes for $2500, but they wouldn't guarantee their work, so we paid for his service call, and said we would think about replacement, he then pulled out numerous brochures quoted us a $12,000 replacement cost, and for $3000 more a solar unit that would cut our monthly bills down quite a bit, we thanked him and said we would be in touch.

Very good experience with Family Air, who I hired to come and clean/maintain my HVAC, which hadn't received any maintenance for a few years. The tech was easy to work with and friendly, and was very thorough, pointing out his findings (which were thankfully that everything was running well) and making suggestions to ensure reliable operation. Good stuff, I recommend giving them a call!

They are unethical and do not warranty their work nor parts installed. They replaced our A/C compressor in 2019 with a 'new' compressor for @$4000.00 yet this summer (2021) they insisted we needed another new compressor for an additional $3500.00. A compressor usually lasts at least 12 to 15 years. When asked about their warranty and guarantee the company made us wait over two weeks of 100 degree weather before the owner and office manager called us back to say there was no warranty or guarantee. This company is unethical and incompetent. Avoid at all cost!

In the 20 years we have lived in Tucson, we have had interactions with a number of Service Contractors for home repairs, remodeling, landscaping, etc. Few of them have dependable customer service departments. As a group, they simply don't seem to understand or care about the importance of customer service, which I would think is the life blood of their businesses.
In the heating and Cooling business in Tucson, our experience with various company's' customer service has been pretty bad. But now I believe we have found a light in the darkness and Family Air is that light and will be our Heating and Cooling go-to service company for our A/C needs going forward. Family Air installed our split unit system in a room addition about 10 years ago and that unit recently stopped working.
The two technicians Family Air sent (Ken and Rick) were excellent and hard-working professionals. The faulty part was replaced, but the new one turned out to be faulty also. Instead of continuing to fix the old unit we decided to have Family Air install a new one. Kurt, at Family Air sent us a proposal for the new unit which was ultimately installed and is working great.
We hope Family Air management will give Kurt a big Gold Star! Kurt has been the ultimate example of what Customer Service is all about. He answered our emails and questions within minutes and gave us a fair estimate for the new unit which is an upgrade of the old one. Kurt is the main reason we will be future customers of Family Air. The owner, Jim Beard, even made contact with us to make sure all was well.
The installers of the new unit, Gregory and Frank were professional, friendly and efficient. So, we highly recommend Family Air for anyone looking for a dependable Heating and Cooling company in Tucson with, believe it or not, Good Customer Service.

To all customers! During times of distress in my industry we see both sides of customers thrilled and upset. There is always something however minor or extreme can change the output of the day. Our days during the summer start about 4:30-5:00 am and do not quit until sunset. I am proud of all our people here and know the struggles they face every day.

This last week has been a personal challenge to that statement, I choose not to put dirt out there and to those who do, I am sorry for the situation you have and will always attempt to provide a quality job for a fair price. Bought a brand new Rheem unit from them in 2018 when my 25 year old unit broke down. They are hands down the best company in town. Honest, transparent, and they perform great work efficiently. just recently I had an issue with my unit where it just didn't seem "cold" enough. They came out in less than a business week and stayed until they found out it needed a few new parts. Parts were under warranty so I pay nothing for them, I'm just paying for labor- which is 100% fair. thanks so much Family Air you all have helped me and my 3 fluffy dogs a ton over the past 3 years.

I do recommend Family Air. The purchase and installation of an ac system on my house was a very smooth and professional process. The unit has not worked efficiently but the owner Jim has been working hard to figure out how to adjust the system to function properly. Jim is a good guy and very funny. He wants to do things the right way and I appreciate that about him. We suspect now the problem was the thermostat. He replaced that and I'm waiting for the bill to see if there is greater efficiency. I suspect that was the problem.

These folks are the absolute BEST. Another perfect job, this time a new a/c that quickly became the install from hell. Through all the various difficulties in this very tight space (package unit in a condo), the team was always pleasant, professional & competent. Family Air was recommended to me, as I was taking down a Swamp Cooler and wanted to put in a New AC unit. Jonathan, was very professional at the 1st inspection and the quotes I received were reasonable with 2 different options. I called him 2 different times before making my decision with questions and he was prompt in returning calls. On installation day, the guys that did the work were professional and friendly and explained that they would be installing the new furnace and AC unit, and also answered any questions I had.
They completed the install in 7 hrs and explained the Wireless Thermostat to me. They further advised me to call with any questions or concerns. Excellent installation job and customer service to: Jonathan, Randy, and Greg. I highly recommend Family Air.

We are extremely happy with Jim Beard, the owner, and his team. We had two state of the art units, a 3 ton and a 4 ton, installed by only three guys, Greg, Ryan and Gerardo (all very friendly, helpful and funny) in less than 6 hours and the units are running perfectly with no problems. The units are a tight fit in their closets with just about a couple of inches of space to spare. However, these guys are attic rats, they get into places that I would never even contemplate to get it, and they do it gracefully and a with a smile. Jim knows how to pick his employees and treats them like old friends.
We had a small hiccup with the rebate from TEP and Jim and Rick were there every day to make sure it happened, regardless of their additional work and time, for that we are very grateful. Jim was involved in every aspect of the job, including the all important first hour of the installation. He was very accessible and will promptly return calls, you can count on that.
And his cost for the work was very competitive and fair, it beat other's estimates. I have already referred Family Air to my friends and will keep an eye for if and when they need new units installed. We also have a maintenance contract with them that the office will follow up and make the appointments as required. Now we can look forward to a cool summer, at least indoors.

Family AIr was quickly and informatively responsive to our questions about establishing an annual HVAC checkup contract. The owner provided the information and the office followed up to set up the onsite visit promptly. This is a professional shop and their price is reasonable for the competence they offer! Kurt is the person to ask for because he know the equipment and how it is correctly installed. You may have to follow up but the company is ethical and committed to strong customer service.

If the tech showed up on the day I was told this would've been a 5 star review. That didn't happen. I gave them 2 stars because once the tech showed up, he did the job much faster and cheaper than expected. I needed my mini-splits repaired and set an appointment. The tech showed up between the hours I was told and called when he was on his way.
It turned out that it was going to take 6 hours so I had to schedule the work the next week. I had to take the day off because of the length of the work. He was to show up between 8 and 10:00 am on a Friday. I would get a call when he was on the way over. 10:00 came and went without a call. I called at 10:30, and after I was on hold, I was told he was having vehicle problems but should be there in about 45-50 minutes.
I asked that someone call me if something happens and there would be a delay. 11:20 came and went without a call. I call and was told she thought the problem was solved and someone should be there by 12:30. 12:30 came and went and no call. I call and was told he wasn't coming and I could have the next available tech who was then in Sahuarita-an hour drive away.
Or I could have the tech come out tomorrow at 8:00 am. I took the later. I can't believe I didn't get one single call and that they didn't know enough that I wasn't get a tech that day and I could've gone into work. On Saturday, he did show up and did a great job. So it's 107*F in Green Valley AZ and the AC quits.oh happy day. I call these folks late in the afternoon and they say we will be there tomorrow morning with help. Sure enough, by 11AM a guy was on my roof. He worked up there for a full hour and bingo.in 20 minutes later the inhouse temp dropped four degrees. He had found a bad electrical connection caused by a failed part and he had a new one in his van.
A hundred and sixty buck later he was on his way and I had a cool house again. Fast-efficient and I really appreciated him explaining what he found in detail. Second time they have saved the day and the cost was less than I expected. Don't use anyone else!

I highly recommend Family Air. I can't say enough wonderful things about this company. My a/c was freezing up and not working. Another company came to the house and told me I would need a new A/C unit and that my current A/C was completely broken. I called Family Air and Greg F came to the house and completely checked everything. The unit was not broken and was completely fine except for two minor things that the previous company did not even check for. all for a lot less than what the previous company quoted for a "band aid fix" Why am I telling this story?
Because sadly there a lot unscrupulous companies out there and buyer beware. Family Air has a customer for life because of their professionalism and fair prices. My family and I are so grateful.

They scheduled an installation quote appointment for this morning (9/18/17) between 8 and 10 last Thursday. At 10 am, the person calls my husband to let him know he's still an hour away from coming. After being in a house without AC for going on 14 days, this says to me "I don't care enough about you to be on time to my appointments." I feel like if I accepted their bid, they aren't going to care enough to be on time to do the installation either. Also, I left a message (last Monday about 4:50 PM) to have them call me but I never heard from them.
I don't know what those people who had someone call them after their posted hours mean that someone called back. I live in 3 points too and it's hard to get anyone to come out our way to help us. All my experiences with this company are one star and don't bother.

I can't say enough about Family Air, from the ladies, Faith and Crystal, on the phone to the technicians in my house, they were prompt, honest, knowledgeable and professional. It was a nightmare dealing with the company that our home warranty sent us, so we opted out of getting our AC repaired for the 4th time in 5 years and just bought a whole new unit.
Of course, this all happened while my husband and I were in different states and my MIL was staying at our house watching the dogs. Faith even answered the phone on Sunday and told me they could get someone out to look at it and give us an estimate on Tuesday and then she put us on their schedule on Thursday just in case we wanted to go with them.
She listened and was incredibly empathetic to what we were going through and apologetic about the other company who never followed up with us. Our appointment was at 4pm and Jonathon called my husband to ask if it was OK if he showed up early, yes please. We had proposals that night and they even emailed us a letter stating that their technicians are all certified because our home warranty wouldn't "buy us out" unless they were.
