D&H AC provides Tucson homes and businesses with air conditioning repair, A/C maintenance and A/C installation services since 1959. Our NATE-certified technicians are trained to repair air conditioning systems of any brand and any age, in a rush and all year long. When your system needs repair, we can perform an audit of what went wrong, so that the true cause of the failure be accurately detected and fixed.
This saves you money from further repairs. If you call us to enquire about a new A/C installation, we will automatically perform an audit of your current air conditioning system and its usage to determine with you what AC system is best-suited to your needs over 3, 5, 10 and 12 years.

Marty Russell and his crew are extraordinary. They made the process of getting a new system installed painless. He also took the time to walk me through the thermostat and how to use the new unit. They made sure they left the house spotless once the job was complete. Then checked that the house was cooling prior to leaving. Truly a valuable employee!

COMPLETE SCAM---Based solely on their commercials, I called D&H when our mini-split began throwing warm air. Nyle, the technician that arrived, looked over the equipment. He connected his gauges and said there was zero pressure in the system and that's why the compressor wasn't turning on. I asked about a recharge to get us going. He added a small amount of refrigerant but the compressor still didn't start.
He pulled the capacitor and checked it. It was good. I inquired about a full recharge. Nyle provided an estimate of $700 for refrigerant and then tried to persuade me to sign up for D&H's maintenance plan at $500 or so annually. I quickly looked up the price on a new mini-split- $2,000. I told Nyle that a new system was only $2,000. He said, "No, these systems are about $9,000. What?!
I declined further service and Nyle said he would have their comfort consultant contact me to provide options. Repeated phone calls to me to arrange a meeting at my house were met with me stating I just wanted a quote. I finally got one. Outrageous! I bought a comparable unit online and installed it myself. When I disconnected the old one, the refrigerant lines nearly blew off from the pressure. Obviously, the diagnosis of no pressure was a lie.
After connecting the new unit, I learned a fuse was blown. So there you have it- a complete SCAM from D&H when all I needed was a new fuse. Well, I got a new AC as well, but I'll chalk that up as an investment. " Service so good, you'll wish we fixed everything. " Nope, cause you can't even fix the basics.

Chris, Roman, and Ron came out and did an excellent job of installing our new air conditioner. They were professional and on time. They even got out here the next day after the AC was ordered for installation! I was incredibly impressed and glad they could help out. Thanks guys! Services: Repair HVAC, Install AC

We paid them $85.00 to certify our HVAC was in working order as we have our home up for sale. They did that. Then, they sent us another invoice for $111.00 stating that they found "debris" and it would cost another $85.00 service fee to come out again and then an additional $26.00 to remove the "debris". Because it was too hard for them just to remove the "debris" as part of the service call, right?
We were home all day and when they were here. Why didn't they tell us about this then? Why didn't they remove the debris? What was our $85 for? I told their office over the phone that this made no sense to us, was meant to gouge us, was an unfair business practice and straight up dishonest. The lady could not have cared less. I told her we would not be using their company again.
This is a dishonest company with zero customer service. Look elsewhere - there are more companies out there in Tucson that do this. I assume some are actually honest with ethical behavior.

D & H was the third company I called with good reviews BUT the first one to say they could come out the same day, so we went with them. The technician Nyle, called and let me know the time frame of his arrival. He listened to my issue and communicated with me very well every step of the way of his diagnosis and analysis of what could be wrong with my AC unit not blowing cold air as he tested the various components.
He was able to unlock the compressor, add a compressor saver kit and service the unit. He is conscientious, professional, friendly and efficient. I'm sticking with him and D & H from here on out.

Austin took extra time to explain the repair process. I let him know we are looking to replace the system and he walked through the steps the D&H takes and invited me down to tour the warehouse. He was kind, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend Services: Repair HVAC, A/C system repair

D&H took care of us quickly and professionally. AC system not working over the weekend. I reached out to D&H for a service call and they send Austin out early the next day. He made his assessment, discussed all options, and allowed me time to review my options with no pressure. Ultimately, we decided on replacing the unit. That very same day, Curtis arrived to discuss various replacement options.
He was an amazing assistance to us and thoroughly went over the finance options. The next day Darrell arrived and took measurements for our new system. He also thoroughly described the system components and how they will be installed. Finally, Marty and his professional crew arrived for the installation and completed the job in less than 4 hours. He took me step by step on what was being installed and provided instructions for the new thermostat. I went from having no AC on Sunday to a complete installation by noon Wednesday that same week. This company is truly amazing!

I really wish leadership would reimagine their old HQ on Prince and Oracle. It went from a functional business that lifted the neighborhood up, to a hovel / dilapidated lot where trash piles up and stray cats go to die. Keep the billboard D&H, but please give your CPA a call, create another business to hold the parcel, and lease the land to someone. Someone that will have eyes on the street and make the neighborhood safer.

Peter was professional and friendly. He came out to give a quote on replacing the heat pump system in my manufactured home. He was thorough and ensured I understood the quality of the suggested equipment and the warranties (excellent). Haven't chosen the company yet as I like to get 3 different companies quotes before i decide.

Just the week prior to this review, I was ready to give them 5 stars. But now a week later, never in my life have I had such unprofessional customer service! We had a service technician come out and look at our furnace because the heat wasn't working. He came out and told us it only needed to have the filter replaced. WRONG! Not sure why it wasn't figured out on first visit because there was an error code on the furnace that stated exactly what was wrong with the furnace. Anyway, we called back a couple days later after the heat still wasn't working.
They came back and said we needed a part replaced. So far, OK. The furnace is under warranty but they still charge for the labor. So, now we are looking at paying hundreds of dollars in service & labor for a part under warranty. Then, they came out and put the part on and we just happened to not be home (the technician was aware we would not be home).
They installed the part anyway and called for payment. When we didn't answer right away, they sent a very unprofessional threatening voicemail which states word for word: "Hi my name is Tiffany and I'm with D&H Air Conditioning and Heating. We are reaching out because we have a technician at your premises who installed a gas valve and we have no way to collect any type of payment.
We have tried calling several times and we have not received any type of information back so we are now giving it 15 minutes from the time of this call and the text message you will receive after this voicemail. If we do not hear from you we will be pulling this part and taking it with us so if you could call us back at your earliest convenience so we can go ahead and make this payment we absolutely appreciate it." We were in an area where my phone was not picking up texts or calls so I could not get to the phone.
There was no way I was going to get this message in time (15 minutes) to make any payment. So they pulled the part and left. Not sure why they thought I would not make the payment as soon as I got the message or what type of customer I was that I wouldn't pay them what was owed. I called and asked for a refund for their annual services contract that I had signed up for days before. Tiffany was so rude and arrogant that she made sure to tell me that we would be placed on a Do Not Service list.
Why in the world would they think I would want to do business again with such an UNPROFESSIONAL business in the first place. I would give this place zero stars just for unprofessionalism.

Our Technician Kevin Castillo was outstanding. He was very thorough and comprehensive in explaining all our options. We decided to have the work done and he exceeded our expectations. It was obvious he took pride in his work and his skill and expertise were evident. I would recommend him and his work in a heartbeat to anyone. Service: HVAC system maintenance

The company and the technician had done an outstanding job. The technician had arrived ontime. It has shown that they are considering my daily schedule. The technician had kept the entire process in a professional manner. Throughout the process he kept me well informed and answered all my questions and concerns. The technician had made some recommendations regarding my A/C unit, which match my own research. It had indicated that they are not just treat the customer as a paycheck.

My daughter and her family recommended D and H to me after learning that the person that has been servicing our heating and cooling had passed away. Kevin with D and H was AWESOME! He was on time, courteous and informative. Since the unit is on the roof, he even took photos and explained what he did and made some suggestions. He even checked for carbon monoxide levels in the home while the furnace was running--first time in all our years of home ownership. Kevin, I look forward to working with you again to service the A/C this Spring!

The D & H serviceman, Austin, was highly professional and offered very thorough explanations of his suggestions. He was polite and provided his service most appropriately. We have been very pleased with D & H Conditioning and Heating and hope to continue to use them for our heating and air service. Thank you Austin for your time today.

I can't say enough FANTASTIC things about D&H! Having to put on a new roof can be stressful.but then add in the fact that you have to have a crane remove your air conditioner from your roof.holy cow! That's where Mike and D&H come into play. Mike and his D&H crew worked with Norma's Crane Service to have the air conditioner unhooked and removed and when the roof was done-they got it back up and running. No stress! Mike and his crew were professional and above all kind. D&H and Mike will be the only company we and our family will use!

There were scheduling issues. My appointment was scheduled for 9:00 so I left work waiting for the technician. At 9:10 I called D&H and asked where the technician was. The dispatcher said that my appointment was in the afternoon. I explained that this was incorrect and that I had to leave work for this appointment. I ended up returning to work. I finally got an afternoon appointment but a lot of my time was wasted driving back and forth. Josh the Technician was fantastic while he serviced the A/C & Furnace. Very thorough and courteous. I would hire this man again.

This company was fantastic. I had set up multiple appointments to get quotes for a new AC from multiple companies and decided on one until D&H called and asked to come give me a quote. After hearing the quote pitched I immediately realized D&H was saving me from spending way more money than what was need from the company I thought was a good deal. The rep was fantastic and professional and answered all my stupid questions without hesitation or annoyance. Highly recommend this company for all your AC needs.

What speaks volumes about the quality of a company is the employees they send on service calls. Stuart, who helped us today was the kind of exemplary brand rep that you hope for if you need to make a call. He was personable, knowledgeable, earnest, hard working, and attentive. And the service visit just got better from there. Thank you to Stuart Grimm and the good people at D&H for being so reliable and for the quality of your service and staff

Amazing friendly service, I was searching for an emergency repair for a big house with a full family in it. A lot of heat generates fast! Moises was my technician. Explained all testing and procedures. Thankfully had replacement part on hand. I'm truly thankful for the emergency service on a Sunday afternoon! I strongly recommend D&H services! And will be recommending to my family and friends.

So glad we went with D&H for our new AC earlier this year. They have come out multiple times since then getting everything just right. It was not the cheapest option, but so glad we didn't go budget on such a big and important purchase for our house. They look after their installs and maintain them great. Today Kevin came out for a 6 month checkup and was great and super thurough. Also super understanding when I messed up the time for the appointment

Needed air conditioning repair. Was considering replacing my unit. Once they know you're already due to pay them for required service fee, they try to overcharge by 200% of standard cost for either repair or replacement. They actually quoted me almost 14K for an AC replacement for a 1200 sq. Ft. home. Stay away. They are very good at ripping you off.

My a/c was installed on 5/25. There was a leak at the first storm. The first repairman came out without the needed tools and said someone would call to schedule a new appointment. No one called. I called them back when the leak continued. The second repairman came out Andy said it was fixed but it was not. I requested a repair via their online form and was not called back.
The leak has gotten worse during storms and looks like it is causing roof water damage. This is a brand new unit that cost $17K not including who knows what repairs to water damage on my roof & ceiling. I'm waiting for a repair tech to call now to get out here but I can't hold my breath that this repair will actually fix anything given other experiences. Here's hoping someone actually calls me back to fix this.

We have been customers of D&H for as long as we have had our Air Conditioner(about 5 years) and they have always been there for us! This past weekend our AC just stopped. we called D&H and they got to us as soon as they could. Our Technician was Kenny. He was polite, punctual and knowledgeable. It took him almost no time to find the problem and fix it. The cost was minimal but the piece of mind was priceless! He checked out the entire system and it was good to go! Definitely recommend D&H.

If I could give zero stars, I would! our AC went out the hottest week this year (3 weeks ago) I have 2 toddlers (ages 3 & 1) and I even told them that. They didn't care. They said they would come repair it the next day.to this day we still haven't received a call. Good thing we fixed it ourselves or we'd all be dead in our home. It was easily 145 degrees in our house.

In short: AVOID D&H AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY. We purchased a home with a brand new Daikin HVAC system, which is less than a year old as of writing this review. D&H installed this unit, and our experience below has all been under their warranty. We HIGHLY recommend AVOIDING D&H at all costs. Our *brand new* AC has not been functional for over two months in the Tucson summer; D&H technicians have come to our house over TEN TIMES over the past 8 weeks, and we still do not have a fully functioning air conditioning.
As far as we can tell, there is absolutely no communication happening between technicians and management in the background, leading to every visit being approached as a 'first time visit, ' instead of thorough documentation of our problems and building off of previous knowledge to try to fix the problem. Only after our 9th visit did a manager get involved, whom was very apologetic but still unable to address our concerns and fix our problem.
Not to mention, nearly every time we try to get an update, management is unavailable leading to us needing to describe the *entire* problem from scratch to a poor call center employee. Most recently, we were told a part was ordered that would come within five days; That was 14 days ago, and after calling to check in it is clear that they have not been keeping up on this on their end.
We are rapidly approaching the urge to just destroy this damn thing. You would think, after ten visits, that they would be willing to replace the unit - but, no. We must suffer through what seems to be weekly visits by the repairmen indefinitely, instead of just replacing what is VERY clearly a defective unit! Again - Avoid this company at all costs if you value your sanity. We feel unbelievably frustrated, helpless, and have little faith that this is going to be solved any time soon.

We have been helped by D&H with the maintenance of our A/C unit, a Goodman system installed on our roof 12 years ago. We did not have maintenance up to 2 years ago because we could not afford it at the time. We had to call D&H in 2019 because we would hear that something was wrong, and the A/C was not cooling off the way it should. D&H offered us a monthly maintenance contract that was affordable, so we signed up for it.
When their first technician came over, he literally removed a 1/4-inch thick mat of dust, cleaned up a drain line that was half-clogged, cleaned up the inside of the unit, and showed us why our A/C was making a weird and loud noise when starting up -- it would start, then cut off, then start again. There were other issues but replacing all the failing parts was out of the question financially. (HVAC parts don't come cheap even if our contract gives us a discount on parts and labor).
We replaced one part first, the most critical, and our A/C kept on trucking like we were used to. On the second visit, 6 month later, we made the choice of replacing another part, the second most crucial one ready to fail in the list. On the 4th visit a year later, we replaced a third part. None of the technicians were pushy. They understood what we could afford and what not, so they advised us on what was absolutely critical, and we made a decision to go ahead or wait a bit more.
I think that if we did not proceed this way, our A/C would have either quit some time in the past 2 years, or be crippled and forced us to incur much more costly repairs. With the heat that's going on these days, we can't run without A/C: so it runs triple shift. This unit is not high-end at all: it's a basic Goodman system that's OK for the size of our home, but not fancy. It's now 14 years old, it does its job and a little TLC goes a long way to keep it running and avoid the big expense.
We pay $16 a month, that's in our budget, plus the cost of parts when absolutely needed. The technicians are polite, they are on time at their appointments, they don't leave a mess behind. We recommend D&H.

It was 117 in Tucson yesterday and our air conditioning went out. My mom had called and got an appointment the next day, but it was brutal yesterday and last night. I called in the late afternoon and spoke with the nicest guy (sorry nicest guy, I totally forgot your name) and explained there were 3 seniors here, one who's only been home less than a week from having her leg amputated and was on the verge of a heat stroke.
I wondered if there was any way we could get the repair the same night. The DH guy was super sympathetic (like genuinely) and explained that so many people's ac we're out, they were booked till Tuesday. He still called the dispatcher to see if they could come, and was really sweet when he had to tell me they couldn't. He verified they had us listed for today and took note that the earlier they could get here the better.
First thing this morning (I was still asleep- or passed out, who knows) and I heard my mom talking to the repairman, Josh Fennell- she got his card! The ac was working soon after and she said HE was the nicest person. My mom had said he must have been tired and he explained he was working outside in the heat till almost 4 am, 2 days in a row, and was back at it early this morning.
It was so hot inside, it's hard to imagine how someone could be outside in that around the clock and still be so nice. All this to say- D&H won't just fix your ac, they'll make you feel heard, and go the extra mile to make you comfortable.

We use them for the Guardian program only. Since we have used them I feel they that have rebuilt our Lennox system part by part retail. Recommended service did not have to be performed, e.g., fan and housing. In an earlier visit the tech told me the fan and housing were very dirty and required replacement before they failed. He returned with the new fan/housing.
Upon removal of the existing fan which was immaculate, he installed the new one at $1500+. I asked if they work on commission and received no answer. Another example: they were here for their seasonal visit last week after missing the appointment the week before because they were unreasonably late. My thermostat failed before the tech arrived. I asked if he had one on the truck that he could install.
It was $1400. Ludicrous. I said no. The story goes on. I purchased a replacement on line for $109. Given we have been on the their Guardian program for years, and they profess numerous benefits from participating, I called. I called them to install the thermostat for me and they declined because it wasn't, purchased from them. It was 115 degrees here yesterday. We are retired/disabled to add to it. Objectively.it is what it is.

Everyone needs to be aware that this company is nothing but crooks. Go to anyone else besides them or you're just going to get ripped off. It's how the operate their business, by preying on people that don't not how an HVAC system works. They will charge you for items they don't fix and parts they never installed.

B E W A R E! $77 to come out a $40 part cost me $273 -- (did the $77 go towards the repair?) I paid $350 FOR NOTHING! and MY AC IS NOT WORKING Next estimate D & H gave me was. $4,000 to REPAIR! Not replace! Called another Co. who explained $4,000 would cover the cost of a whole new system! BEWARE! REPORTING TO KGUN 9 on your side! Bottom line $350 for a $39 dollar part that did NOT fix the AC! STILL HAVE NO AC!

I like D & H. They did a nice job installing my new HVAC unit in 2013. The guys sent were pros at the install, startup and clean up. Just had D & H out for annual check, and the gentleman who did the work was also a pro. I am NOT fond of the whole 'upsales' they are required, but this technician was low key, no pressure, unlike the previous dude. However!
The 3 stars versus 5 are for D & H price gouging. I needed about 2# of refrigerant.at $110/#, D & Hprice. I was told a homeowner cannot buy this stuff without EPA license, etc. so I looked today. VERY same 5# bottle the technician used, available TO THE PUBLIC, for $95. With the recharge kit for $159.95 ( making the cost about $32/#). Both have free shipping.
Do I feel overcharged? Absolutely! I think 25% markup is fair given logistics, storage, acquisition, etc. That would have put me, for the refrigerant and kit at $40 per pound, not $110, which is a 350% markup! I have called the office, and continue to wait for a call back. The office called and sent me snail mail to ensure that I knew the refrigerant is not covered under my warranty.
Not that I thought it was, but interesting action. I await a call., again. They finally gave me a lil discount, and wanted me to know about the credentialing and training their techs take. Hey, I've been around construction over 30 years.looks to me like the intensive training is in upselling on services.

Worse fucking service, spent 18,000 on a new HVAC and the technicians over charged it. They were clueless in how to set up my new system. Now 2 yrs layer they are still clueless, spent all day yesterday for the technician and nothing. Called them and they told me i was not scheduled when I called in the morning for the appointment. Today I waited and waited and now they are telling me that they called and no one answered twice, while I been waiting by the fucking phone. Rodeo vacation ruined waiting for these fucking idiots

My home came with a fairly new AC system installed by D&H Air Conditioning. I first used them for the free maintenance that came with the warranty of the system. First impression of company was great, they have a great office staff that communicate regularly with reminders of appointments. The technician also calls when he leaves a job to let you know exactly how far away he is.
The office also calls you after your service to make sure you had a good experience. They really prioritize customer service. Arturo was the technician sent out for my maintenance inspection and he did a stellar job. As a new home owner Arturo patiently talked me through what he was doing which helped me learn a lot about AC and my new system. At the end of the job Arturo recommended we get a Hard Start Kit added to our system as ours was starting up with a high electric current which could leave to bigger problems down the road.
The quote to get this done with a $70 discount was $226. It was right around the holidays so I opted to hold off on the installation, Arturo was very gracious and did not pressure me to make the purchase. When I was ready in February Arturo returned and installed our Hard Start Kit, he got the job done efficiently and then also patiently answered some of my AC system questions before he left.
I did sign up for their ongoing Guardian Maintenance Plan, which is around $180 a year, I opted for the monthly payments of around $16/month. This gets us two visits a year to check up on our systems safety, mechanics, and calibration. We also get a 15% discount on any repairs with this plan, no trip charges, and priority scheduling in case of emergency.
For good measure I did some of my own research and learned that newer AC models don't come with hard start kits anymore and it is a common need and good thing to have added. I honestly don't know how D&H prices compare to other companies, but I know I trust Arturo and D&H and didn't feel like i was being up sold or pressured into anything.
Peace of mind in having a company I trust is worth it, AC systems are so expensive and I want to make sure I have a great company helping me give our AC system the longest life possible.

I noticed the temp this afternoon was getting warm as I was cleaning.and then I noticed the AC was not working. It was 2pm, and since the landlord lives next door, they have used D&H before.it was easy! The technician (Rafael) was polite and spent about an hour working on the AC unit. It ended up being the blower, and it was replaced and the house is cooling as I write this. I will certainly use this company again, as the customer service, and professionalism is OUTSTANDING. (and the AC works again!).

Your firm is terrific. Took us eight years to find a really good A-C company. David and Curtis are the perfect salespersons: knowledgable, patient, and personable. They explained everything in detail and answered all our questions. And then Reuben came and was also wonderful. He crawled under and around the mobile and his measurements were exact.

I am writing this short note to tell you how happy I am with my new Daikin A.C. and the great service the two installation men gave me on Friday, May 23, 2014. The two men put up with my questions and still did a great and fast install. They did all the little extras and made everything look great. I would ask for them to work on my problems every time. Great job.

Brian W. came in the morning of 08/25/16 and replaced a coil in our Daiken refrigeration unit. He was very professional and friendly and he knew what he was doing. I would recommend D & H Air Conditioning &Heating Company to anyone and if you like you could ask for Brian W. and I am sure you would receive great service.

Service technician Anthony came out this morning to check out our 25 yr old system. He was very professional and informative. Gave us three different options and also scheduled an appointment for a sales representative to come tomorrow to let us know what a new unit would cost even though there was an option of replacing several critical parts.

I have received very good service from this company over the last two years. I had a new A/C system installed at a rental/residence and maintenance service at my home. I would recommend a service contract or repair work from this company, which has a knowledgeable and friendly staff of technicians to install new equipment or maintain your heating or A/C system.
