You probably don't worry about your home's air conditioner until the system stops working.usually when it's 90+ degrees outside. It can be a helpless feeling, as most people are not equipped to understand the inner workings of their air conditioning systems. An untrained eye will not be able to identify if the air conditioning system is clean, if it is experiencing excessive wear or damage or if the compressor is operating properly.
In some cases, replacing your current air conditioning system is a more economical route than repairing it. Our team of professionals will provide you with recommendations, including advantages and disadvantages, for either replacing or repairing your system.

Mike got out to the condo on short notice and took care of the leak in the brand new AC unit. My in laws live in our condo and just move in a couple months ago. When it was hot enough for them to turn the AC on it didn't work. As an engineer, I went over with my fluke multimeter and troubleshot the unit outside to either the contactor being bad or the pressure switch. Turns out there was a leak which wouldn't allow the pressure switch to activate the contactor Coil for safety reasons. They got it corrected very fast.

Warning avoid, engineers don't know how to design systems. Manual J was calculated wrong, per house not per room also based on incorrect numbers (lazy) Fresh air intakes without dampeners causing condensation build up on ductwork! Installed blower is grinding already. Thermostat installed in wrong places, these people don't seem to understand heat rises - crazy.
And as per usual instead of spending the extra $100 for multistage compressors install the cheapest rubbish on the market Also condensation lines not fully insulated, so looking forward to damp in my ceiling when summer rolls around.

We came home after a long weekend to find our first floor furnace not functioning. Completely dead. We called R & R as we had used them in the past. Wade was very professional and polite.and was able to diagnose and fix an uncommon issue within 30 minutes. Explaining everything along the way. Needless to say I know more now about furnaces than I've ever known. I trust R & R and appreciate the quality of their work. We will always call them when we have an issue. Thanks very everything Wade you guys are awesome!

Decided to go with them as they were priced less than the competition, and that was a big mistake, they were low priced because they do a lousy job. Got an AprilAir 700 humidifier installed from them and it has been more than a year, my winter heating bill shot up almost $100 every month and the humidity does not even go up 10% but it runs almost all the time.
The technician attached the humidifier to wrong side of the HVAC feed and connected to the hot water source and it consumes water all the time but does not maintain humidity at desired levels (~40%).The water feed is a copper tube that is left hanging and that is going to hurt the main hot water pipe as it is carrying all the weight of this tube and would probably break in future.
At the end, even after spending for installation, and spending almost $100 every month for heated water, it is still a dud and we still use 2 small humidifiers and need to fill water every night. We had a home inspection later and the home inspector also suggested that the way they installed was not at all correct. I feel like the so called technician who did the work although sounded knowledgeable didn't know what he was doing and just installed something and left.
I have to now spend money again to get this installed correctly (as suggested AprilAir 700 might not be correct choice) by a professional which in my experience R&R is not. I unfortunately have to suggest to not take chances with these guys.

My AC was initially installed by them when the house was built. The compressor is broken, and the part is still under warranty. I called them for a quote. They told me it was about $500. I clearly stated that if the price was way off, there was not point for them to come and waste my diagnosis fee. They promised that but not willing to write it down.
I agreed to ask their technician to come. The diagnosis was the same, but the price raised to $1200-$1300. I have read the bad reviews about them, but I was hoping they probably would learn lessons from the bad reviews. Apparently, I was wrong. I hope people whoever read my story will take the lesson.

Had an opportunity - via a referral - to use R&R. Contacted them via email and received a reply. That's a plus 1 in their favor. Upon arrival to our home, the technician that was sent looked like he was picked up off the streets. Very unkempt, very non-professional appearance. When he examined our gas fireplace, he immediately got on the phone to his company and was being coached to locate our problem.
He was from Arizona and though he appeared to have some knowledge of fireplaces, ours apparently befuddled him, despite my letting his company know what type and model of gas fireplace we had. After some lengthy phone discussion with his company, he prepared an invoice for their service call and included a description of the required part(s) to fix our issue.
It was stated in the invoice that we would receive a call in the next day or two to schedule the repair. That was 30 days ago. No contact since. None. Very poor customer service, very poor. That's a minus 100 in our favor. Since then we've contacted a VERY RELIABLE COMPANY - Sturm - who came out, diagnosed the issue, ordered the part(s) and just today scheduled the repair. I am not pleased with R&R at all. Do NOT use them! It appears all they wanted was our $90+ service fee. Poor.

These guys have been giving me the run around since we bought our BRAND NEW house with equipment they installed. From kinked and collapsed ductwork in the attic to incorrectly sized condenser for the ac. They told me today that they have only been out here two times, which is a lie, as I have invoices for four trips and I know they were out here another time to replace my undersized condenser. Got the usual everything is ok bs everytime they have been here and do not trust them. Had an HVAC service In trust and have worked with as a GC out to troubleshoot system today and was told I have a defective compressor in my condenser.
This is supposedly something that was fixed 2 years ago (although they have no record of it, I do) and has reared it's ugly head again, to the tune of around 1k. Not honest or fair by any stretch of the imagination. Oh yeah, last time they were out tech noticed an exhaust fitting that had come loose and was not glued properly. Sounds like a life safety issue to me.

Kelly is a tribute to your company. I quickly felt that I was speaking with a person whom I could consider as a trusted advisor, and not a salesman. While I said to him a couple of times that I understand that time is money, he nonetheless was patient and answered everyone of my seemingly one billion questions.

They can have their friends and family do all the 5 star reviews they can solicit but the reality is the same as others have said. Brand new home, came out twice "everything is fine" shtick is clearly their party line. There is literally no cooling or air flow from our upper unit but they graciously waved the trip fee because they were an hour late on both occasions.
So with a warranty claim I paid nothing but I got nothing. Independent crew comes out - seized up compressor, bad control valve and other minor parts. They pursued the warranty on the compressor directly with manufacturer, thank god, but all in I was still out 1200 bucks. But unit runs awesome now and I was happy to pay for the confidence of a root cause and resolution that made sense. Also, as the second owner of a 16 month old house there were a couple of inspections issues with their install/materials that while not being outright code violations were flagged as watch outs.
If you can help it avoid these guys like the plague. If they did your new build install I would say save yourself the heart ache and go independent cause even if you can get them to own an issue they are still going to charge you labor as others have said. So why no just skip and pay someone competent. If you want my recommendation see my other reviews.
And lastly to the builders - why are you using these jokers? Who is running the supplier selection process? Do you not know the internet is a thing? Do some homework for @#$%$ sake and stop passing heartache on to your customers. The lowest bid should not be the only criteria in selecting a vendor. Plenty of reputable outfits out there.

R&R did the original installation of the HVAC system on our home and the airflow SUCKS! There are at least 30% of our neighbors having the same issue. The guy that came out to inspect the system was rude, condescending, and late. We have had temperature differences up to 15 degrees different between our two floors. The guy brought his temperature gauge in to take readings and after it sat in his hot van in 85 degree weather for several hours, he thought it appropriate to set it on the register while our A/C was running so it would cool down.
According to him, the temperature his gauge was registering was 71 degrees, yet my A/C was still running when it was set to 74 degrees. He also tried quoting us upward of $1,000 for cleaning of the furnace, A/C, and their components (which conveniently are not included in their standard cleaning fees - this is an additional $95/hour). We just had a different company come out and perform the same service for a fraction of the cost.
And according to them, the system and the duct work are both undersized for the house. This is the third company that has given us this same answer. I would NEVER recommend R&R to anyone who wants an HONEST and RELIABLE company working on their home.

We've worked with Kelly at R&R for awhile now on basic maintenance, but he and the company just completed a completely new installation of full home AC and furnaces as well as some important AC rezoning that were badly needed. They worked hard, were always professional, and kept everything clean each day. Everything works perfectly and is much more efficient than before! Highly recommend.

James was great, I called in for a 2nd opinion about having to replace my furnace and James came out and looked over everything and fixed what was needed and saved me from having to buy a whole new unit. I appreciate his honesty and would and will recommend R and R to any and everyone. Thank you so much.

I just wanted to say Thank you to the two technicians Jacob and James, that were at my home earlier today. They did a great job fixing the issue I was having. They were extremely polite, courteous, knowledgeable and they had a great sense of humor. I will make sure that you are my first call should I again need assist with my HVAC.

After reviewing the BBB and links for new furnaces, we found R & R Heating and Cooling had the best rating in this area. I called and got an appointment set up immediately. Mike showed up to give us a quote and was so pleasant, that we wanted to hire him on the spot. Still, we had said we needed more estimates, so we got two more.

I have used R & R for 7 yrs for a/c & furnace checkups. Mostly they taught me things, some ok. But this year the a/c tech said he put in 8.5 lbs of freon at over $900! Then he said looking for a leak was too hard and just check it next yr! This, after he had already done it and I was sitting right there! Then I asked about a new a/c and rebates. He was on top of that.
A salesman came out and did not do a walk-through and measurement of my singl-pane windows, which you need for a rebate. I had Bell plumbing out for a bid. He said my whole a/c did not hold 8.5 lbs. There would have been freezing of the tubing to the furnace and on the coils if freon had been low. There was no green discoloration, which would have resulted. I feel R & R cheated me. Bell did the calculations, but finally said I did not need a new a/c. Honest tech.

Warranty work done on parts only. Will have to pay additional labor after 1 year. Was told at final walk through warranty was void because we used a separate company to install AC but that wasn't true after further discussion with main office. Had handyman fix at much less cost. Be sure to understand ALL terms of warranty. NO WAY would I ever do business or recommend this outfit

Negative stars if possible. Stay away from this company. Warranty my $&!#. They installed the heating in our new home.and all of our neighbors and us have such poor air flow. Both heating and cooling. R&R blew off our concerns. I don't recall the the name of the older, skinny, Bee Gee's looking dude but he is plain mean! I wonder if he is the owner because I can't imagine a company keeping a guy around like this and staying in business long.
We have had two companies in to give bids to make improvements and both commented "who ran your ducting? This is terrible and why your air flow is poor." I am now much more educated on what to look for. We had so many additional unneeded turns and runs that should have been attached to the main trunk. Some supply lines instead of coming up the wall and venting to the floor they ran up to the ceiling and also a few heating floor vents placed near air returns.
Basically the warm air that comes out just gets sucked back into the wall returns leaving cold pockets in over half the room. A home owner should be able to rely on an HVAC company to do it right the first time. Not to spend over $1,000 to refit the ducting and boost the furnace just for adequate heating and cooling. Maybe they have so many jobs with a builder they just don't care about doing the job correctly or having a homeowner question why it was installed poorly in the first place.
Funny though when they won't fix what is wrong they will warm you if you have any other company touch it R&R will void their warranty. Ha! What a joke. Rheem covers the units and R&R covers nothing!

Terrible company. They have done nothing but cost us money. They replaced everything in our home. A year later, the A.C isn't cooling properly. We have a warranty and they wouldn't honor it. I spent over an hour on the phone with the woman at the company to get them to drop the labor charge on the most recent visit. Why would a 1 year old system not work? Horrible company. Do not use them.

I had my HVAC blower motor die and in less than 24 hrs R&R was at my home with a new unit under warranty. Kelly was the name of the technician and he did an outstanding job of not only replacing the unit, but also offering tips on ways our system could be improved over the years and how we could save money with our current system.

I mistakenly called R&R when my furnace went out thinking they were the installer and covered the warranty. During that service call, I realized it was, in fact, Now Heating & Air that installed and carried my warranty. By the time I called the correct company who installed the furnace and therefore carried a warranty on it, I knew from R&R that it was the pressure switch that needed replacing.
It took 3 separate visits by Now, listening to well over an hour of sales pitching their maintenance plan and desire to re-work my exhaust duct, and $270 in labor to have the part installed (the part was free and covered by warranty). I regret using them because R&R would have done the repair within the hour it took for the original diagnosis and only $90 for the part.
Even more aggravating was that on the 3rd visit when the guy arrived with the part, it took less than 5 minutes to install. and that cost me $270! Very upsetting and aggravating experience! I felt duped and cheated by the company I used. This was a stark contract to the courteous, professional, and honest experience I had with R&R. Not to mention he totally won me over with his manners in handling his shoes and removing them while in my home.
I also felt the office girls were professional and kind far above my expectations, even offering me an additional coupon discount when I called to see how much I was getting cheated by Now. R&R, if I ever have an issue, you will be the only ones I call from now on. warranty or not!

It was one of the coldest nights of the year and the control unit went out on our furnace. So I called around to the various HVAC companies in the phone book and almost all of them could not or would not come out. R&R Heating and Cooling was the only company that said they could respond. At first they mentioned that it would be very expensive, so the communication was good.
I say, "not a problem" since I have a two year old and did not want to fix a house full of frozen pipes. So they came out in just over an hour and found the problem. It took another two hours to find the correct part but considering the hour (10 p.m.) and the temperature, it was more than worth it. A big thanks to this company. They came out on a cold night and helped me out. I will be calling only this company for any upcoming HVAC work.
