Pacific Paradise Pools

I am looking to build a pool for my business in my parents backyard. I have gone through the city for all official permits and licensing. I called this company after seeing their sign in a front yard in my parents neighborhood. When I got a call back, I believe it was Rich I spoke to, was extremely unprofessional and rude. He first told me that there's a bunch of licensing and whatnot I need to get from the city so I'm not shut down. Seeing as I've had my business open for a year, I am aware of what I need, especially since I've already spoken to the city for moving my business to a home property from a commercial.

He then began talking about how he's been in business for so long, he's amazing at what he does, and was not so humbly bragging about himself and his work. I told him my mom (the homeowner) was getting a few bids from a few companies just to compare and see who can provide what we were looking for, for the best price when it came to materials and customer service.

We're willing to pay more for a company that respects what we want and is happy to work with us. He then told me that he wasn't going to wait in line behind other contractors and it would be a waste of his time. I told him, in respect for my parents and myself, I didn't think we would be a good fit and hung up. As someone who owns a business I can't imagine telling someone they would be a waste of my time, even if I thought my goals and theirs were on opposite ends.

We met with companies who have won awards for their pools and work who were far more humble and accommodating and willing to work with us, knowing we were getting multiple bids. My best advice for Rich is be a little more humble and allow your potential customers to look at other companies. If your work is so great, you would stand out and they would pick you, right? **Update in response to business owners response: he literally told me that it would be a waste of his time, with us getting other bids (my husband was sitting right next to me and can attest to this. I wouldn't put something so critical in a review if it had never happened**

Even though I ended up not building a pool with this company, I just wanted to say how happy I was with how responsive Rich was and how detailed he went into the process. Burt, who was our consultant was also super. Despite having car and other logistical problems, he still was a great representative of the company and went over some of the finer details. Thanks guys for your hard work!

Honest and trustworthy company. Nothing is ever perfect. Different things can have a huge impact on the outcome. It's up to the homeowner to stay on top of things no matter what anyone says. If you do that, communicate concerns in a productive manner your dreams should be realized. The very best part of the whole process was when Dane swooped in to help us understand our pool.

There is so much to know and he is great at explaining the whys and whats of it all. He really made me forget all the little things along the way. Our pool is beautiful. It's everything we wanted and we would highly recommend this company to anyone who asks.

Had the consultant come by for an estimate, he basically said that it would be his first quoting a simple pool since he was used to homes in Orange County areas such as Laguna Niguel which are basically million plus dollar homes and I guess our middles class neighborhood like Whittier, wasn't rich enough to quote. After all that talking he said he would try and get us a a price that day, it's been about 2 days and still have not receive a courtesy quote. All we wanted was to get a price and have a pool built. I will keep looking for other contractors.

We are so thrilled with the work Pacific Paradise Pools did for us! They were very professional, as were all of their sub contractors. They told us up front what all of the costs would be, when payment was due and finished the project in 11 weeks from start to finish! We highly recommend them!

It is such a pleasure when a company does everything right from start to finish, when you have confidence in their knowledge and expertise, and when they follow through on every promise and expectation. That was our experience with Pacific Paradise Pools. Rich Tonti clearly knows his stuff, is honest upfront about what to expect, and is very personable.

The way the project was scheduled, monitored, and inspected inspired confidence and led to a fantastic pool and hardscape. Pacific Paradise not only uses wonderful subs (Lani for the deck concrete!), but they also guarantee that if something does go wrong with a sub, they get it fixed and made right in a hurry. The entire crew (Rich, Tim, Kelly and more) are lovely people and carefully guided us through the project.

Now that the project is complete, we LOVE our lap pool, but we do miss Kelly's infectious smile! As an aside - We asked Rich for contractor recommendations for a couple of other projects (landscape, wood decking) and we hired each one of them! Pacific Paradise obviously associates with quality people across the board. If you are looking to build a pool, you will be in excellent hands with Rich Tonti!

We first met Rich Tonti, of Pacific Paradise Pools, in the fall of 2015 at a home show. We were interested in redoing our pool and backyard living area, but weren't yet ready to dive in. Even knowing that we were just gathering info with no plans, Rich gladly came to our house and discussed some possibilities and spent lots of time answering our questions. Finally, in the Fall of 2017 we were ready to move forward.

We did our research and contacted 5 other pool builders, but none compared to the professionalism we experienced with Rich. He was very easy to work with and really listened to our ideas and helped us figure out a great plan for the entire backyard. Once we signed the contract, he stuck to his time schedule as promised, was always available for questions, and was dedicated to making sure we were happy.

When Rich would see things that weren't right during the project he made sure that it was fixed. All of the employees who worked for Pacific ParadisePools that we encountered were very easy to work with, professional, and always had time to answer questions. On top of our experience, was the remarks we heard from others who saw the work being done.

The city inspectors were very happy with the project and even asked for info on Rich so he could use him for his own project. Also, our long time pool cleaning company, has made several remarks about how well thought out the design was, and how good of a job had been done, even through the start up of the new systems. All in all we couldn't have been happier with our experience with Pacific Paradise Pools.

We love our pool! Kelly was amazingly patient and was always there to answer our questions. Norm went above and beyond to help finish our project. Additionally, our pool was finished a month ahead of schedule, just in time for our daughter’s birthday party! Thank you!!

My parents had our pool put in in 1967. Obviously it needed some updates. We called several companies for estimates and chose Pacific Paradise Pools because they responded quickly to our requests and came out right away to photograph and measure the pool. We were kept informed with each step of the process. Workers were always on time and worked hard the whole time they were here.

The pool is absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier with the updates. The pool was resurfaced and new coping and tile were installed. The plumbing and electrical were also updated making the 50 year old pool look brand new. We love it!

These guys do high quality work. I had this company replace my skimmer, refurbish my rock formations and water slide. The employees were hard working, professional and cared about the details. I would use this company again and I would recommend them to others.

I give this my highest rating due to the complications of building our pool and the perfection upon completion. Our pool is an infinity pool built on a hillside on caissons. As you can imagine, a very complicated process. We hired Pacific Paradise Pools after firing the former pool company that could not complete the job after running into major issues.

We are very lucky that the owner, Rich Tonti, agreed to take on our job considering that most contractors won't take on a job that is half complete. The pool is amazing in every way and Rich recommended many new options that we had never heard of. Friends that visit the house make comments like... "I am not a pool guy but if I had a pool, I would want this pool." or, "This is the most amazing pool I have ever seen in the area." If you want competence and quality, look no further.

Recently had a very elusive and intermittent problem with our spa heater not re-firing to maintain temp. Norm and Steven were really persistent and it took them many hours and multiple visits but we're pretty sure they fixed the problem. We have worked with Pacific Paradise for a number of years and can recommend them.

A five star company from start to finish. We met with other companies before deciding to go with Pacific Paradise. We were told by two other companies that they could complete our remodel in 5 weeks for a graduation party we wanted to throw for our daughter. Rich was our last contractor to meet with us. After explaining the steps involved in the job, 5 weeks promised by the others seemed impossible.

Two weeks for plan check, time for the gunite to cure, various stages of masonry and so on. We felt the others were going to over promise and under deliver. 8 weeks was an expected time frame as explained by Rich. We signed with Pacific Paradise to do our remodel. Rich came up with a great design that satisfied our wants. They are detailed and trustworthy.

From start to finish, we had people working everyday on our backyard transformation. Every step was done to perfection. Not my words but the words of the inspectors. There was not one correction that needed to be done. The finished job far exceeded our expectations. We didn't have a graduation party but had a going of to college party. I can recommend pacific paradise pools without hesitation. They constructed a new pool, spa, fire pit, and all new concrete/hardscaping for the entire backyard and driveway. The initial consultation and design process was informative, and Rich and his team took the time to answer all our questions, and they were able to come up with a design that we loved.

The entire process was planned out, and their crews were able to complete every step on time, and there were no surprises regarding the cost. They were professional, attentive, and honestly the best experience I had dealing with contractors.

Pacific paradise pools installed our brand new pool with beautiful rock waterfalls. The process was smooth and they handled all of my questions and concerns along the way. They maintain our pool as well and I am thrilled with the job Shawn does for us. I would recommend them to anyone!

I had a great experience with them. They did an amazing job on our pool. We had some issue but it was taking care of without any problems. I would recommend them anytime. They do service our pool as well. We are extremely happy with them!!!!

We love our swim spa/pool. The Badu jets are great for a swim workout. And the pool size is perfect- not too big but not too small. Exactly what we had in mind. Thanks PPP! Plus Josh does a super job at keeping it clean and maintained.

I was ready to purchase a A Pool Lift and have it installed. I left several messages with 3 different people over 6 days (not counting weekend) ; no one ever returned my calls.

I have been going here for about 2 years now for help on my pool. The service is awesome! I am a "do it yourself" type and the help I get from Pacific Paradise is really great. They are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They also dont try to sell me a bunch of miracle cures or things I dont need. Their advice has been spot on. I will keep coming back! Thanks for the help!
