We've been keeping Portland families and businesses comfortable since 1976, when Paul Anctil, a skilled metal worker taught by his own father, bought Lahodny Sheet Metal. Paul wanted the shop to be a family-run business, and saw no better way to demonstrate that than to give it the family name.Anctil Heating and Cooling (then Anctil Sheet Metal) has been run the same way ever since, although the name itself has twisted a few tongues over the years.We've used the name's challenging pronunciation to our advantage, adopting the slogan "Hard to say, easy to work with" as our tagline. In those first few years we mostly produced gutters, downspouts, flashings, and custom sheet metal products.

Be Forewarned, we've used this company to install a brand new HVAC unit on the roof of our building in Portland. The unit had problems and we've called multiple times in order to have them come fix it. They are refusing to fix the brand new unit even though it's only several months old. I'm unsure why they are refusing. As discussed above, the unit is on the roof and is inaccessible to us, showing that we didn't do anything to cause the problem. I would suggest looking at other more reputable companies that will cover any warranty issues.

Anctil maintained the furnace in a house I used to live in in Portland and I was happy with their work. My new house needed a new hot water heater and I went to them for a tankless model. The estimate was competitive, and the install - complicated because of the need for a bigger gas line and plumbing - went off without a hitch. I am a very satisfied customer.

Great experience from the beginning all the way to the end. I received a quote quickly. I was told that due to equipment supply issues, it would be a month or so before they would have the equipment to install. In about a month, I received a call that the equipment had arrived and scheduled the install. The installers showed up on time, and kept the work area very clean.
Due to where the equipment needed to be installed, it was very tight quarters for the worker, but they muscled the equipment into place without any complaints. I highly recommend this company and they will be doing all my future service work.

We have had our heating/central air system maintained by Anctil (spring/fall tune up) for couple of years. last year we replaced the blower fan housing, this year it was the mother board. how nice to call at 7am and have a technician at the house 3 hours later and the job completed in 2 hours (he had to go get the part). very nice service.

I can't be more impressed with this company. I've ordered five A/C units in the past month and they have squeezed me into cancellation appointments for two so far. Expect to be treated with the ultimate amount of respect and professionalism. They are very good at making reasonable recommendations and following through with excellent customer service. They are my go to HVAC company in Portland!

Chris came in response to a malfunction notice on our control panel. He carefully examined everything to determine it was an electrical issue due to some power surge and recommended an excellent electrician who took care of the issue after which Chris came back and made sure the connections and everything was functioning as it should. In the process he noticed some things on our siding of concern and took the time to mention it to me and give recommendations how to deal with it. I am very thankful for his attentiveness and above and beyond service.
