I highly recommend Using Cold 1 services. Ted is very professional and makes sure the job is done right! They show up in a reasonable time and get the job done. Very helpful humans who take the extra time to do things properly. **To a bunch of the 1-star haters leaving reviews: this company has zero control over what's under warranty and what isn't. In a lot of circumstances: it's not under warranty. They're also an HVAC company in the 6th largest city in the country - turnaround time for appointments can be weeks. Unless you're willing to foot the bill for emergency or after hour repairs, why would you expect as much?

Fantastic experience. Our A/C went down overnight due to some electrical issues. Came across Cold 1 Services and gave them a call. Ted was able to squeeze us into his schedule last minute on the same day. Came by immediately diagnosed the problem, made the repair, and everything back up and running. Great experience and would absolutely use him again in the future.

I was assigned Cold 1 by my home warranty company and it took them 3 weeks and 4 calls on my part (3 unanswered messages) to schedule a time for them to grace me with their presence. Teddy came out, did some work for about an hour then said he was finished without bothering to check the thermostat once. We had ServiceToday in our old house and the technician was thorough and checked all parts of the system prior to completing his call.
When I mentioned possible replacement of the unit due to the SEER rating (our unit is 20 years old with a rating of 10) not being inline with standards of products sold on the Parker today (minimum is 13 or 14). My home warranty states that standard coverage includes "upgrades to maintain compatibility and/or compliance with SEER or refrigerant standards". Teddy told me I need to call my warranty company to sort it out because they won't cover replacement because "it's old". He blew me off and I'm pissed. Never ever will I use this company They take forever to call you

This company is beyond unprofessional and absolutely HORRIBLE! After reading many of the reviews on here it seems that our experience was not too different from many other people that have had the misfortune of using this company. Our ordeal started at the beginning of the summer when we had an issue with our central air and contacted Cold One because they were a local company.
According to Cold One we had a leak that was causing our issue and on 5/1/18 they added a dye and sealer so they could either possibly seal but more importantly find the leak. After that and $925 later was the last time we received any semblance of professional service from this company. After that we had to hound and chase this company down with I can't even tell you how many calls to now find what we paid $925 for.
After finally getting them to come back out we were told the evaporator coil had to be replaced and they need to order the part. Again a week goes by and not a word from this company and finally after calling and leaving messages for days we get them on the phone to make the appointment. Sure enough the day of the appointment they are a no call no show.
The following day we did not even get a courtesy phone call nothing. When we did finally get them on the phone after several days they said "Our secretary called you". We now had been dealing with this company for months and no one other that the owner Ted ever answers the phone so this is a complete lie. It was not until 6/5/18 that they finally came out to replace this part. so more than a month.
We have now spent over $1,500 with this company. Now in August right before my wife and I were leaving for a trip and when temperatures were going to be close to 100 our air conditioning is not working again. We called Cold One and left multiple messages for DAYS explaining that we are leaving for a trip and have an elderly family member who will be staying in our home with no AC.
After 3 days of leaving repeated messages we did not receive a single call back. If you are a homeowner in Philadelphia like other reviews have said use any other company but Cold One. They will take you money, get annoyed that you actually expect them to do their jobs, never show up then take your money and disappear. This is hands down the worst HVAC company in the city

We needed our AC fixed and contacted cold 1 through our warranty. It took us a week to get an appointment. The AC guy showed up for 10 minutes he said our AC was frozen and he couldn't do anything so he would have to come back. Flash forward to 3 days later he never came back, even after multiple attempts and calls to the company. Owner promised to call me back and didn't.
I ended up switching providers. I have noticed most of cold 1's reviews are either a 5 star or a 1 star. Most of the 1 star reviews come from customers who are reaching out through their home warranty. So it seems to me that they are only helpful to customers who they can profit from which should be concerning for both types of customers.

It literally took weeks to get these folks to set an appointment and - since they are doing you a favor apparently - you have to call repeatedly just to speak with someone. When they grace you with the courtesy of answering the phone and you set an appointment, they simply don't show up. This company has no concept of courtesy for - or consideration of - the customer or the customer's time.
It doesn't matter that the customer has to miss work in order to be there for the appointment. It doesn't matter that it's hot and the air doesn't work. In my case, they simply missed my window without any explanation and without the courtesy of a "heads up" that they wouldn't be showing. Never again will I use or recommend this company. They are so wonderful that you have to beg them to do their job. Amazing. Good luck.

I recently bought a rehabbed home and had Teddy out from Cold 1 Services to check my condenser which was not blowing cold air. I felt comforted by his thorough assessment and diligence to identify the issue. With some other contractors, they wanted to sell unnecessary upgrades with minimal or no analysis of the core issue. He fixed the condenser and performed general maintenance so it would run more efficiently.
I asked plenty of questions before and during the services performed; he was honest and seemed happy to answer them all. We also discussed the lack of airflow to my second floor which I am monitoring as the temps increase through the Spring. From my experience, I recommend Teddy and his team.

Absolutely stellar service. They received my service call on a Friday and he was out on Monday. They had my part already so my heating problem was fixed in a matter of 20 minutes. Teddy came to the rescue again today! I got a call from my wife this morning saying that we had no heat in the house, so I called Teddy and asked if he could stop by. This is my first Yelp review and I wrote this just to say how horrible the customer service has been with this company. I was assigned this company via my home warranty company and then scheduled an appointment women who works there. After they missed the time, I called back with no answer. After receiving a voicemail from a man working there, I called back to reschedule with a woman working there.
During my time slot, I called to make sure they would be able to come. This time, I spoke to a male employee and he said there was no appointment scheduled. When I inquired about why my appointment wasn't scheduled to make sure it wasn't going to happen to others, he started to get annoyed saying "I don't really care why it happened. It's not going to help now".
And the conversation ended with saying "Do you want me to come out or not?!" I chose to hang up the phone instead of giving him a piece of my mind! Reading the other reviews, they obviously mistreat customers with home warranties and if they can treat any customer that way, they do not deserve your money.

Major customer service fail. I had an HVAC claim assigned to Cold One Services via my Weichert Home Warranty. Called and left a couple of messages and never heard anything back. Tried calling again, and their voicemail was full. Called Weichert to see if they could help, and they managed to reach Ted through an emergency number (which Cold One does not seem to want to make public), who told them that they would be contacting me to confirm an appointment for this Saturday.
Not surprisingly, I had not heard anything back from Cold One by today (Friday), and was not able to get an answer at either of their listed phone numbers, and all of their voicemails were still full. Called Weichert again who managed to get a hold of them, and now the story is that they have no availability on Saturday, but might be able to come out on Monday or Tuesday.
I am having Weichert assign my claim to another company, and I would caution anyone thinking of using Cold One. UPDATE 6/11/16 - Received the following message from Teddy at Cold One: "So I am sorry you didn't get the service you liked but you are not in an area we cover. I'm sure the warranty company didn't tell you that. Also you place a claim coming off a holiday weekend and heat wave.
So I'm sorry you didn't get the service you think you deserved but you should look at your warranty company and always blame the service contractor. Also if you look at the complaint about our company you can see all or if most of them they are warranty company customers. Thank you for sharing your unjust negative complaint about us we will use it to try to make our customer service better.
And by the way all our numbers are published" Now, if I am in an area that they don't cover, that is certainly the fault of the home warranty company. Also, I did take into consideration the holiday weekend and heat wave, which is why I didn't have an issue with the fact that the first appointment I got (that Cold One failed to follow through on) was a week after I placed my claim. However, he could have let me know that he didn't cover my area if he had returned any of the calls I placed to him.

One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I had a repair appointment set up for the weekend-- they called to cancel the weekend appointment during the appointment (meaning I had already been sitting around during my appointment window and received a call stating he wasn't coming but would reschedule me for Monday.) I really didn't like that but I had no choice but to accept the Monday appointment.
I had to cancel things on my end to be here for the Monday appointment-- but I did that because the HVAC unit needed repair. Waited around for over 4 hours (it was a 2 hour appointment window), called many times and left message-- no one ever answered the phone or returned my calls. They stood me up for my appointment-- again! And why isn't someone answering the phone during regular business hours that itself should let customers know this business is a joke.
I have tried to reach out to the owner to discuss. UPDATE: I have currently moved from 1 star to 3 stars as the owner directly called me to discuss what happened today and apologize. Based on the conversation with the owner, I am willing to give Cold 1 Services another chance.

We are writing to commend the three technicians who performed the service in our home. They represented Cold 1 Services in a very courteous and professional manner. They answered our numerous questions with patience and respect. Before they left they explained in detail how the unit worked and what we needed to do in order to maintain it.

I gave them one star. I called in on a Monday they said they would not be available until Friday. He gave me an appointment at 8am and did not get to my home until 10:30 am. When he got here he started explaining how he really only deals with commercial properties, that he really does not like to work with warranty companies.

I highly recommend cold 1 services. My AC unit went down on a Friday afternoon. They were able to send a technician out within just a few hours. The technician was knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to resolve my issue during his visit at a fair price. My experience couldn't have been better with Cold 1 Services.

Had an emergency and reached out to some friends for help, they recommended Ted at Cold 1. Ted came out with a colleague and they quickly diagnosed a problem and resolved at a very reasonable fee. Two guys, South Philly roof top compressor and they barely charged me for anything above the service charge. Honest, courteous, and on time.

Terrible. Came out may 21. Have been waiting over a month for an estimate. They "lost" my info and missed the 1st appt. They did come out on the 2nd appt but what was the point if i cant even get and estimate for the work that needs to be done? Ive been calling and talking to Crystal but she says the same thing over and over.she will tell ted(owner) she will get this taken care of.she will call me back.never does.

Only two words can describe the service here. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I called through my home warranty to submit a claim about my Air Conditioner not working. They gave me an appointment window between 8-10 a few days later. On that morning by 11am, nobody had called so I gave them a call. They said that a technician was stuck at another job for the whole day.
How is that possible when I have the earliest possible appointment?! So they gave me another appointment for the next morning saying that the technician would come straight to my house in the morning. So here we go again, at 9:30 I called them because surprise, surprise they were not here. This time she told me she was gonna figure it out and call me back in one minute. 15 minutes later, still no call, so I called back and she told me that they were still working on the other job and that they could not come back today.
Even though they had promised to come first thing in the morning. She admitted that she knew they weren't coming earlier in the morning, and she did not call me. This is NOT how you run a business. DO NOT use this company. They will not keep your appointments. You will probably change your schedule, have to reschedule work, and probably give up your first born to try to get them to actually come to your house.
Absolutely horrible! And here I am on hold trying to get through to my home warranty coverage. You will save lots of time and aggravation if you steer clear from this "company", if you could even call it that.

I called them b/c I own a Martial Arts gym & we had NO cold air.it is getting SUPER hot & humid out, so I needed it fixed ASAP. Luckily, they were able to come out within less than 24 hours. Looking to get your AC / central air serviced? then this company is definitely not for you unless you want to WAIT until your work order is cancelled and not be notified about it. Over the span of 5 days I received ZERO calls from this company about any updates or wanting to schedule. I had to call them constantly to find out if I would be scheduled a tech.
I kept hounding them since day 2 to see when someone would come out and I was then mysteriously scheduled a tech 30 minutes from my latest call on Wednesday. So I left work early and rushed home. COOL! RIGHT!? Someone will finally be looking at my HVAC issue and maybe fixing it. NOT! The tech who (nothing against him) was unprepared because his Cold 1 Services company did not let him know that he would be needing at least a 10 foot ladder says "We need to reschedule". OK?
The next day comes and goes so we're now on a Thursday. Friday comes and goes until I call them on or about 2:30 pm. This is my first run in with them via a new homeowner warranty. Our hot water tank is leaking (Kind of a big problem) and we were told a technician would arrive between 1-2 pm. At 3pm my husband called and was told the tech was working another job and would call and come over after. Well he NEVER SHOWED UP. And we never got a phone call. I will be leaving work early to go sit at home AGAIN today to wait. If it weren't for the warranty, we wouldn't even try them again. Have some consideration for other people's time! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.
