Just be home to let them in. once in 28 years I had a not so worthy of the job employee. He was not nice to my husband. But! Mike has been our HVAC guy for many years, through 2 houses. The first install lasted many years without a problem. We sold the house with the system intact. PG&E also does yearly maintenance. Our new home needed the heater replaced, and Mike explained all the systems he recommended. He took his time, and did not push us. Installation was professionally done, prompt and clean. Mike's HVAC knowledge and honesty are reassuring. We highly recommend PG&E to family and friends.

Mike literally came to our rescue. We bought a new house and he discovered the contractor had improperly installed the heating unit which was both malfunctioning and dangerous. His listing of all the code violations prompted the contractor to return and make the necessary repairs. Mike was thorough and truly concerned for us and followed up on the progress of the repairs. Luke and Mike did a great job. Warm and friendly going over options and giving explanations for every component. I had the same questions with the company with big orange truck and only received a hard sales pitch. They wanted me to purchase a whole new heating boiler. Mike and his team installed a new heat pump, air handler and thermostat in our home after our prior system died. The system they installed is amazingly quiet and efficient. It is light years ahead of our prior system. I am glad I listened to Mike's recommendations as every claim he made as to the benefits of the system he recommended has proven true. This is a fantastic Company, with the best Service people on the planet. Mike came to my house to give me an estimate for a new heater over 25 years ago, he took the time to explain things about heaters that no one else had (other estimates). I was so impressed I purchased a new heater and the installation was really painless (in and out, took all their trash with them).

A few years later they installed 8 heaters in our Church, (at my recommendation), then later installed Air Conditioning, and today we have a incredible relationship. No question is too insignificant, and will return your calls regardless of the day of the week (I've called him on Sunday's and get a call back). We had a furnace issue back in Mid-March that needed urgent attention. After the frustration of dealing with one of the larger corporate heating companies in the past, we decided to try a local company this time. We contacted several companies & ultimately decided to go with Philadelphia Gas & Electric Heating and were very pleased with the results.

They came out same day, were very knowledgeable and luckily the issue turned out to be not too serious, so the cost was very reasonable. The technician (I think his name was Mike) was more than happy to speak to me in detail about the issue & we discussed things I should be doing to keep it maintained. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality service at an affordable price!

I purchased a service contract with Phila. Gas & Electric through Angie's list. I then had a problem with my house heater kicking on when the temperature dropped. They responded very quickly and fixed the problem right away. They were very efficient and solved the problem in the first visit.

I needed a new house heater for a row home in Northeast Philadelphia. The company's owner provided a fair/honest appraisal. He was very friendly, professional, and explained in great detail what needed to be done and why. The chimney and heater installation was completed without a hitch; my new heating system performs flawlessly!

My furnace was not working and Phila. Gas & Electric came out and fixed it. They also provided recommendations to make my furnace run more efficiently. I felt the service was so good that I now use them on an annual basis through a service contract for my furnace and A/C unit. They provide great, reliable, professional service.

I can't say enough for Mike (the owner) and Mindy (his wife, who runs the office). Their work is reliable; their prices are reasonable; and their customer service is fabulous! When my old furnace flooded three years ago, this company quickly installed a new one that substantially lowered our utility bills. Though it normally stands upright, the installing team worked with me to place it horizontally, since my basement/crawl space has a low ceiling. Plus, the guys didn't complain about having to work in an unusually deep, cramped place, crowded with 60 years worth of old pipes!

In a recent, major storm, our sump pump failed; the basement space flooded; & the furnace stopped working as the water reached it. I feared it had been destroyed as the last one was, in a similar situation. But I called Mike, who patiently walked me through some simple checks and reliable fixes. When it got too technical for me (an elderly, retired woman) he spent a second half-hour on the phone with my tenant (an engineering grad. student).

We haven't had a moment's loss of heat since then. I wasn't charged one penny for this. After the crisis, I did sign up for their maintenance program. Since I was about to pay my plumber for a new sump pump, Mindy was kind enough to wait an extra week for payment! The BEST! This company knows how to diagnose and repair the problem without ripping you off. In an industry know for high pressure sales tactics, PGE is the opposite. Whether you need a repair, maintenance, or a new system, PGE will treat you right.
