This is the 2nd time it has been our good fortune to have Mr. Reyes as our electrician. For each service call he was prompt, listened intently, worked smartly and effectively. Most importantly he either resolved our issue(s) or provided options for safe and cost effective results. Mr. Reyes' visit was as comfortable as a visit from an old friend who is very well educated and certified in all things electrical.

Ari, James, and Jesus were all wonderful. They did a great job and got it all done in a day. They were very straightforward and didn't charge extra for the parts needed with our agreed upon price. I called for an estimate and they gave me an estimate alright. I almost died right there. Now maybe im just not with the times but tell me this sounds right. Replace 2 recepticles (take out the old and install new) and install a ceiling fan (lightbox and wall switch already there) = $1,294. I declined but was stuck paying a fee. Does this sound right? I havent checked them with BBB but im going to right after this.

Do not bother calling these guys, they are straight up highway robbers. They wanted to charge me $3,300 to extend a brass fitting 1 Foot. Wtf? I think they make their money from $99 consultation charges and give ridiculous bids to purposely not get the job so they guy can keep going to these consultations all day. Shit company with shit pricing!

Mariano and his team at Powell Electric are truly the best. If you have major electrical needs (or minor) do not hesitate to call them. We had a massive upgrade in the new home and Mariano came up with the best solution that completely solved our problems and was honest and fully available during the work. Ari and the team who came to work on the house are all standouts and true professionals. We highly recommend Powell and are grateful for the high quality work, attention to detail and hands on approach that everyone on the team provided to us. Thank you!

Stephen was very professional. With a pleasant smile, he introduced himself, put protective footies over his shoes and was ready to work. I needed three smoke detectors installed. He discussed pricing, warranty and a senior discount. He also replaced the bulbs in the chandelier in my stairwell. The work was very neat, he left the areas clean. I will request Stephen again if need be.

Outlet not working, $78 TV special to investigate trouble. Found short in other outlet associated with bad outlet. Changed out bad plug outlet with new one. $400 to change out a $10 part. Called office to ask why so much. Was informed that they have to pay gas prices, insurance, vehicle maintenance, etc. Informed I will inform friends, and family of his reply. WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. BEWARE! BAIT, AND HOOK COMPANY.

I called Powell Electric to have them come out to install a Ring Floodlight Cam for the front of the house. Raul came out on the time and date we agreed on. He was very Professional and Knowledgeable with the unit to be installed. Gave us a fair estimate and completed all tasks in a timely manner. We tested the system and made sure we were using it at it full capacity. Clean up and had us sign for agreed price. We have always been happy with Powell Electric and will call them again when needed.

Electrician, Mariano Reyes was extremely efficient. He listened to my requests and explained exactly what he would need to do. He gave me a full quote prior to starting his work. Luis, the tech that visited our property was very nice and professional. He listened to our needs and developed a couple of plans. Since Powell was the first electric company to address our needs, we felt it was logical to get a couple more estimates. For us, the overall price seemed a little pricey, but we don't know for sure without soliciting other companies. I am confident that if they do the work, it will be done professionally and correctly.

Powell Electricians: Luis, Patrick and Andrew arrived on schedule. They were very professional and polite. Performed all electrical repairs efficiently and were neat and tidy. Price was a bit higher than I anticipated; but overall I was very pleased with the service. I would recommend them and would use their services again!

Mariano Reyes came over today to look at a few electrical issues/ concerns. He was prompt professional knowledgeable and very thorough. He really took the time to evaluate the situation and the solution and to explain it all to me I was very impressed with him. He gave me estimates for the different work required. I felt him to be very honest and plan to call him in the near future

Pat and James were outstanding. They were very professional and above all very patient. They ensured the systems they installed were set up properly and walked me through the setup process. A friend called me about finding a good electrician. I asked what the issue was. She told me that the receptacle in her back yard didn't have any power, and she uses this as a source of electricity for her sprinkler timer. Powell Electric came out this morning, charged $78 for the estimate to repair. Then proceeded to write up an estimate to completely re-wire the line going under the house to the back yard, for a whopping $4,190.00.

I offered to come and look, that that price seemed very expensive. Low and behold, I checked a receptacle between the problem and the breakers, and found a GFI receptacle. All I had to do was press the reset button, and the whole problem was fixed. If I, as just a homeowner can find the problem, a professional electrician should have been able to. This technician was trying to take advantage of a single elderly woman, and should be ashamed.

Stay away from this company they are dishonest. liars. same scam bogus company.

The worse customer service. Was given a window between 1:00-4:00 Got a phone call at 3:55 Saying they can't come. I told them I had taken the afternoon off work for this appointment. No apology was offered the next morning, I told him I will be working. I was so frustrated, I told him never mind, I will call someone else. First and last time calling them.

Scam artists. Charge u just to come out and give an unrealistic estimate. Stay away from these guys Not upfront with any rates. Give ridiculous estimates so you would never hire them. They must make all their money on sending guys out to take 90$ fees with no work actually getting done. They give good electricians a bad name.

This company operates just like AT&T. If you want a good technician or salesman you'll get it. For that, expect tremendously inflated prices (thousands over), and a teflon, automaton reaction from a "handler" who has zero humanity and cannot waiver from "working for the man". Horrible horrible state of affairs. A great indicator of our troubled times.

This company needs to be INVESTIGATED & LICENSE REVOKED for wrongful, misleading, & absolute gross misconduct related to nefarious actions of estimating & charging procedures. An ABSOLUTE SHAMEFUL RACKET SCHEME. I am a trade professional of 25 years & work in high-end design/building, & with many subcontractors including plumbers, electricians, painters.

I deal with cost of goods, labor, & have a rather full general working knowledge of labor & job costs. I don't mind paying top dollar for superb work, I do mind paying costs BEYOND an industry standard & fair, even @ the highest-end. As representative for a recent small client issue, Steve (POWELL co. assoc.) came to the residence, assess & provide a proposed outrageous 'estimate, bid, proposal' for work to be done, HOWEVER, a yet TBD scope of work.

Estimate was to include a worse-case scenario for some potential new wiring, new outlets (1) Simply, 3 new under-counter LED light fixtures to be installed & replace old fixtures. NO NEW wiring required, (fixtures cost $50-$125 each @ a supply-house or Home Depot). (2) Remove/Re-Install one new track light, install 2 new light bulbs. (3) Electrician to check & assess condition of electrical outlet behind dishwasher, new dishwasher not working properly. Result: Electrical box was fine with no compromises, dishwasher needs to be serviced. (4) Electrician to check & assess condition of electrical outlet behind lg.

TV cabinet. TV stopped working properly 8-10 weeks prior, client utilized extension cord until issue resolved. Technician confirmed, outlet was live & in good condone, a surge protector had failed & burned-out. 6 hours of time expended, 1 our lunch break included, $4,800 FOUR-THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS, this should have been an $1,800-$2,200 job with excellent profit built-in!~

Had a new ceiling fan in the box and power already going to where I needed the fan wanted to charge $1050 yeah right buddy there's the door

Where most electricians give free estimates, they charge 99.00 just to come out to give you an estimate, almost trapping you into using them for the job to get your 99.00 back, because they use it towards the job. except, they charge 3-4-5X the amount that anyone else does. Rule of Thumb, don't use anyone that doesnt give you a free quote or estimate. I got a 28,750.00 estimate for a 8,500-10,000 job. i also got a 650.00 estimate for a 100.00 job, and an 850.00 estimate for a 300.00 job. DO NOT EVEN CALL these guys.

Total scam alert. This place wanted to charge $5200 to replace 40 outlets and 12 light switches. I thought he was kidding when he gave me that price. This place is a total scam looking to rip off anyone! Do not use! Read their reviews it's insane!

They wanted $1,190 to add an outside outlet for a fountain. the electrical line and conduit were already there! SERIOUSLY! that's what i get for not checking YELP to see all the 1 star reviews! At that price, i thought it included the actual fountain!

Installed a surveillance camera. Arrived early in the morning on a rainy day. No complaints.

I would recommend others to shop around and if they dont offer free quote skip them, i believe thats a sign they dont trust their work. I told my family to skip this company. We wanted to upgrade the panel from 100v to 200v. the guy came out charged 79 bucks and gave us a quote of something crazy like 15k. I confirmed to him that this was a quote for the panel upgrade not a house rewire, he then said, we wont know if the house needs rewiring until we pull the panel. Needless to say but we didn't go with them and payed alot less

Zero stars is to high. Lazy incompetent technician. I paid 80.00 for nothing and received a 3000.00 quote. The piece is 18.00 at Loews. Stay away these people are thieves.

I hired these guys a while back To replace a few breakers in my electrical panel They charged me over thousand dollars highway robbery I now know a electrician who said these companies that pay for ads on tv rip people off he said they way over charged me. Wow - charged almost $100 to come out and give me a lump sum quote that's more than double what I was told the project should cost. And then refused to even break out cost of materials and labor rates! Super sad I reached out to this company Avoid! UPDATE - 2 other electricians came out did not charge for the visit and both quoted 60-70% LESS than these guys!

Walter the electrician was on time, and finished the job on schedule. He kept work areas protected with plastic, and re-checked the entire house before leaving.

We have had many workers at our home over the year's and we are proud to say none of them were as helpful, respectful, or considerate as your people were. You should be proud of all you workers, we are!

First Off, My Grandmother (Homeowner) had neglected getting the fuse box checked on for over a decade and a half since Grandfather passed away in '01 so she kept getting rooms added by shade tree contractors plus buying major appliances before we were literally going out to the fuse box everyday.

WARNING! Do NOT use this company. For a service fee of $99 one of their licensed electricians came to our home to diagnose an electrical problem. The electrician told us that we had a very dangerous situation and proposed to fix the problem for $2230.

Powell Electric is an excellent company providing fast, efficient, responsible service. Their technicians are polite, professional, responsive and extremely knowledgeable in their field. The original estimate is exactly what I ended up paying, and they even returned once to check on something the next day at no additional charge.

We have been return customers of Powell Electric for years. We continue to utilize Powell primarily for their undoubtable honesty. Secondly Powell's technicians are of the utmost of professionals while remaining courteous and friendly as well.

Had Powell electric out to look at an issue with the power to my spa heater. They were very polite and professional. They gave me a quote for $495.00 to replace the needed part. I thought the quote was excessively high so I paid the service call ($73.00).
