Harrison Fence

Update January 2019: We decided that we wanted a gate in the back aluminum fence, and Harrison Fence was able to install it very quickly. They had a matching gate in stock, and after talking with Tim, who does repairs, we found a flat portion of the back fence that wouldn't require a custom gate. The fence has a slight slope, and Tim did a great job trying to match the height of the gate to the surrounding fence.

I could see that he was very careful, measuring and eyeballing the gate and fence until it was lined up to his satisfaction. We're very pleased with the result. Original review: The entire process went very well; the fence looks beautiful. We have small dogs, and they were careful to run the fence close to the ground in all areas. One minor thing: We thought we had some wiggle room from the original marker flags (about a foot toward the woods), but the crew said if they weren't right on the flags, they might not have enough materials.

But that's minor--I HIGHLY recommend Harrison (and now would not change the fence one bit). Very professional; fantastic work! The salesperson who gave us the estimate was not high pressure in any way, the estimate was fair, and they kept us up to date on when they would be able to install our fence. It took a little time, because they're a great company and in demand, but we were always updated as to what was happening. I would definitely use Harrison Fence again.

Harrison was great! The sales guy that came out to do the initial estimate was fantastic to work with. He answered all my questions and walked through the entire process as we were walking the property. They were not the cheapest of the quotes that I got, but knowing that I was working with real professionals and getting a top quality fence sealed the deal. Harrison was very easy to work with from the time we signed the contract past everything being completed.

Any change orders were easily done and they talked through everything with us. When the crew arrived to start tearing out the old fence and installing the new one, they were all extremely polite and professional. In the end, the fence is amazing and looks/feels like it will be here for decades. Highly recommend Harrison. UPDATE: I moved homes and went with them a second time because of how awesome they were. Still HIGHLY recommend them.

Working with Harrison Fence was a breeze from beginning to end. The estimator was prompt and professional giving advice that we needed on the specifics for our fence. The business and accounting people handled almost everything on-line with easy instructions. The installation team was right on time and went over everything before starting the job. I was SO happy with our service by Harrison Fence. We had 3 panels of our fence start falling down due to strong winds during a storm. They were quick to respond to my concerns given that I have young kids and a big dog. They were able to repair the posts quickly, did a great job cleaning up behind themselves, and even helped fix one of our gate latches while they were there. I truly feel like they went above and beyond for a simple fence repair. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a fence company they could trust!

Ashamed that such a highly rated company does such poor work. We hired them to replace our existing fence. They day of removal it was raining which created issues for us on the day of install as the ground was all uneven from where they walked in the mud. During install I had to ask them many times to redo areas of the fence as they left large uneven gaps on the bottom (fence was suppose to be flush with the ground).

They happily agreed to replace them. After they left we found other areas of uneven work, boards were all different heights from the ground, it looked horrible. They came back and replaced the effected areas, no problem. We thought all had been fixed until about a year later; now board are popping off and nails are sticking out. It's a bit of a hazard.

We learned that the gates were installed backwards which will lead to more costly repairs in the future (in fact they did come out once to repair as the gate and fence were rubbing). This is partly my fault as they asked me which way to swing the gates (on the day of install), when I gave an answer I had no idea it was the wrong one. I would hope those that do this for a living would have advised me otherwise.

They also busted existing underground drainage while removing the old fence posts and offered no solution for this. I may be wrong in assuming this, but I feel that should have been evaluated prior to removal. As a result we now have flooding in our yard that will costs us thousands of dollars to fix. I wanted to leave them a great review given their willingness to fix things, the staff were very kind and polite but in the end it just isn't great quality work.

I am very unhappy with my experience so far with Harrison Fencing. I have put multiple calls in with no return. You have to continually follow up with them, as they do not return messages or calls. When I went with the company, I believe they tried to over deliver on the time it would take to get the product in and now they are back tracking, saying it will take longer, which is a deceptive practice.

I am waiting a few more weeks to see if my product comes in, but would be very wary to recommend them to someone else. I am really worried about the money I have given them already. Very concerned consumer, Kimberly Deaton - Apex Homeowner

Update: 2 business days later, they quickly fit us in for fixing the issue and we now have a beautiful, excellent fence. I appreciate that HF did the right thing and fixed it promptly at no charge. Despite this learning experience for the install team, I'd still recommend them. Original post: On Install day, we had a great experience with Harrison Fence.

I recommend them. We discovered today when I nailed a line running inside my interior wall and I wasn't sure if it was LP gas or HVAC related, so I called 911. Both Dominion Energy and the Cary Fire Dept. informed me the fence had been installed against code and they had to break my fence to shut off the gas. I was shaken to my core. By this time, the pilot light in the gas fireplace could have sparked and I could have lost my home - or worse - my family.

I trust that Harrison Fence will do right by us as soon as I am able to speak with management. Until then I will refrain on removing more than 1 star - and that star I remove because they knowingly installed out of code. They even cut a notch in the post to get AROUND the emergency shut off valve. It scared the life out of me. I'm not angry, I'm just shaken. You want to know the job was done right and safely. I look forward to speaking with Harrison's management tomorrow and altering my review again as needed.

After recently purchasing a house it was time to put up a fence for the pups. After doing a little research and getting a couple quotes, Harrison Fence was the way to go. They were very professional and quick. Although the wait list is a bit long, I am only assuming that is the "norm" for fences. Once we got on their schedule things seemed to move along quite well.

They come three times. One for marking your yard, the second for the post installation, and the third and final day is for the completion. This is all subject to weather of course. Our install was set back one day, but they were very good at communicating with us and getting the job done expeditiously. These folks are definitely worth looking in to if you are in need of a fence. Now go get that backyard your floofs deserve.

Harrison Fence did a wonderful job building the fence of our dreams. We had some issues scheduling due to weather, but once we got started, they were fast and efficient, and the fence has been holding up great over the last 4 years.

Couldn't have had a better experience working with Ethan, Shauna and the install crew! From initial estimate to final walkthrough of the new fence installation at my Apex, NC home, my wife and I were very pleased. Our Doberman loves galloping the whole backyard now too! Recommended by our neighbor and the whole experience was nothing less than exceptional. Jeff who came out to do the bid was so knowledgeable and assisted us in picking the right fence for our animals. The interaction with the ladies in the office has equally been pleasant and professional. The crew that came out to put up the fence was just as professional and did a phenomenal job.
