Saunders Fence truly got started a little over 40 years ago when Ron Saunders was asked to manage Hercules Fence in Norfolk Virginia. At that time they were a one branch operation. Jim Saunders started in the fence business when he was 6 years old picking up tie wires and fittings dropped in the yard at Hercules for $1.00 per bucket.

Upon ownership change, Ron Saunders moved to Chesapeake Fence where he helped develop and managed their commercial chain link division. Jim Saunders started working in their shops when he was 16 years old, until he went away to college where he got a Bachelors Degree in small business management while working at Powers Fence - The Carpet Shops.

They did a good job installing the fence but they installed the wrong gate and did not tighten the post caps. I called and asked for a replacement cap and they said they'd stop by to fix it but never did.
