Chesapeake Fence & Awning recently replaced the fence around my back yard, and I am very happy with both the experience and the end result. Project involved demolition of old chain-link and wooden fences, and installation of new custom fence with several gates. Charles, Elliot, and the whole team were willing to work with me every step of the way to create a custom design that matched my vision.

The team went above and beyond to clear out years old fencing and overgrowth to clear the path for the new fence. The team also clearly took care and pride in the construction of the new fence, making helpful recommendations about certain details with regard to long-term maintenance/durability, and aesthetics. If there was any question about how to proceed, I was informed and consulted before moving forward. And two months later I am still extremely pleased with the end result! Lots of positive feedback from neighbors, as well. Highly recommend.

Chesapeake Fence & Awning Co. put up a vinyl fence for me and I must say, I'm glad I didn't chose anyone else! I was a little hesitant at first, after reading some of these reviews, but after my experience, I am so thankful I picked them for my vinyl fence! Chesapeake Fence really did an awesome job. I thought the communication was great for a construction company.

I've had contractors take FOREVER to reply. I didn't have that issue with Chesapeake Fence! Charles answered if I had any questions, and kept me up to speed with everything. The lead time wasn't too bad either, considering other companies were even longer. Once they started, they had the fence done in a couple days. TJ, Tyler, and Mario: the team that came out and got it done!

They were very respectful, verified exactly how I wanted everything to look (which I really appreciated), they cleaned up after themselves, and worked hard from the second they stepped onto my property. I will definitely be using this company again to fence in my front yard, and I wouldn't be surprised if my neighbors started calling them too. Everyone compliments my fence and asks who did it when they see it. Just a beautiful job by Chesapeake Fence & Awning! Thank you!

We used Chesapeake Fence to replace two small sections of wooden fence and a gate. At first we thought the work would have to wait a few months since they were booked up, but they contacted us when a spot opened up much sooner than expected. My husband wanted to add double swinging doors so that we could get bigger equipment out of the gate easier. Johnny came by because "he had time" a few days ago, took the deposit and began the job by ripping the current section up & digging holes for new posts. They ran into a power line, and suggested that we would need a smaller opening cut to this, ok fair enough.

But since then there has been NO communication despite numerous calls/ texts. I AM OFFICIALLY OVER VIRGINIA CONTRACTORS Update (I forgot to update then): After posting these photos on their Facebook, I was contacted by Charles. Charles was embarrassed for the contractors that performed this type of work. He had a crew come out and measure the next day!

And 72 hours after we had custom built doors up. Sadly I am leaving the previous review and 1 star as is, I should not have had to resort to the pettiness level I did, in order to have CLEAR communication.

Chesapeake Fence & Awning Co. came recommended to us by my husband's co-worker. Charles came right out to do the estimate and stayed in touch with us through the whole process. We did have to book about 9 months out and installation was pushed back because of supply chain issues with the retailer but Charles did a great job of communicating everything to us very clearly.

The whole installation took about 3 days (we chose aluminum gates with a wooden fence--we were not interested in vinyl) and we are so happy with the result. The installers were kind and professional and always let us know when they arrived. We will definitely continue to recommend Chesapeake Fence & Awning Co.!

Don't waste your time. I first contacted them over a month ago to schedule a fence estimate for nearly an acre of residential property. Since that time I sent 2 additional emails and called 4 times. Although the receptionists were nice, we never received a callback from sales person to schedule a fence estimate. Needless to say, disappointed that they wasted my time contacting them multiple times for more than a month and never received either a sales rep call back or fence estimate scheduled.

I called to get an estimate. Johnny came out to do the estimate, requested survey, which I provided immediately and he never called me back. When I called him, he was talking very slow saying he was waiting to hear from the city and he would call me back later that day. Days went by and I never got call back- when I called, he texted me stating he was in a meeting.

He still never called me back. I was extremely frustrated at the level of unprofessionalism, so I called the company and asked the receptionist to have one of the owners call me back, I told her what had happened. It has been yet another week and even the owners didn't call me back. Really sad as I'm a business trying to support them

Totally disappointed in this company. Recently purchased a home that had their sign on my fence so I decided to try and give them repeat business. I needed a gate added to my already existing fence, easy right? I called waited a week for a response and then another week for someone to come out for a quote. AJ told me he would have the quote to me in 5 minutes, then he left with no phone call and off the clock because here we are into the next week with no returned phone call. So, I called the main office where it sounds like I just interrupted the guys morning nap, with no effort to resolve this issue. My existing fence is fairly decent, which is why I left 2 stars.

Super happy with their service. They were able to do the job within one week of my first contacting them. Had the job done in less than a day. I liked it so much, that I immediately had another idea for a porch rail and enclosing gate. I called and they again did it within a week. There was a small detail that was not as pretty as I had imagined, not anything that was wrong - just not as aesthetic as I thought - so they changed it for free.
