Hansen Bros Fence

In the early part of my ownership of this house (1998, I think I had them out in the early 2000s), I had a 6' wooden fence installed with a vehicle gate that connected to my separate garage. Last year I replaced the old garage with a new one and wanted to have them out to reconnect the fence to the garage and do general maintenance. I started calling them before spring 2022 and was told I would be contacted once someone drove through my alley in Nordeast and looked.

I neither received a response on that request nor the next several. Today, 05/25/2022, I was calling again and was told to take my business elsewhere because, I think, the person on the other end was either unable to transcribe my email address or considered that I was spelling it in an aggressively distinct way. So, because this person didn't react well to my telemarketing training, I got told to take a hike.

This was incredibly unprofessional, abrupt (didn't ask me anything about my "manor"), and rude! I guess I will go elsewhere and let you all know what is going on with "Minnesota Nice" at Hansen Bros. Fence.

Hansen Bros Fence has a contract with the City of Minneapolis and were responsible for the fencing around the Hennepin Government Center during the Chauvin trial. They are also accepting payment from the City to put up fencing around the Northeast encampment, when what they should be doing is telling the City to invest that money in programs that help get people in much needed housing.

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness I booked them for a small job, installing 15 fence posts. They kept pushing my job back, and ultimately ghosted me. Don't waste your time.

6 years ago, Hansen Bros was contracted to do my fence from another company I hired. That company folded within a year. My fence started collapsing shortly after that. I reached out to Hansen fence and asked if they would stand by their work, and repair the fence. At first they said they would, but kept dragging their feet on coming out to look at it. This went on for several months, and they quit answering my emails or return my phone calls. I offered to pay half of the repair and still nothing.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality Hansen Bros Fence was a big disappointment. Really unprofessional. Poor quality workmanship. Can't remember basic instructions. At first I thought this company was great. I got three estimates for my fence and while there's was not the lowest I wanted to hire a family run local business. I soon came to find out that this company while they have a good product and their installation was great their customer service is appalling. Their project manager does not communicate with me.

He makes promises about when the crew was going to show up and then they don't show up and days go by and I get no phone call or email from him. When I reach out to him he makes a bunch of excuses and then promises that they'll show up again the next day and then they don't show up the next day. I would not recommend this company at all While researching the company I discovered several complaints against them with The Better Business Bureau.

The only time the communication was good was when they wanted to be paid. The fence was not installed in conformity with the estimate. I was very specific about my requirements and they bid the job to meet those requirements. The installation, however, did not meet those requirements. When they wrote the estimate they assured me they could do it as I requested - I had another estimate from another company so I knew what I was looking for.

I'm ready to rip the thing out after spending about 5k to have it installed. Their failure to follow the estimate resulted in me losing the use of about 3 inches of my property, which was important because it means my driveway is almost impossible to use - it's just too narrow. I had checked their reviews, which weren't good so I went against my better judgement and used them anyway. You've been warned.

I was a little hesitant to go with Hansen Bros after reading some negative reviews, but ultimately really glad I did. Here's the truth - they're not awesome communicators and they're incredibly busy. But if you stay on top of them and ask the questions, they'll always respond. But the actual work product is great and their people are all awesome and really accommodating.

We had a fairly small job - one stretch of new fence in our backyard and a repair, and most of the big fence companies wouldn't even consider it because we didn't meet a $2000-3000 minimum job. Hansen Bros took it on right away and were out within 2-3 weeks of contract signing. I had some very specific requests and they accommodated them. Izzy is a great foreman, and John and Julio who installed our cedar fencing were awesome!

The day of install, I voiced some concerns about our dog being able to get under the gate and John did a custom change that was thoughtful and perfect for us to ensure our dog stays put inside the fence!

I worked with Doug who I found very helpful. We had a little over 200ft of yard to fence in, and chain link fence to remove. Price was competitive, only 2 weeks until they started after signing the contract. I had last minute adjustments that they accommodated well. The job was finished in a week. The fence looks great, every board and post is perfectly aligned at the top including the gate. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Wanted to post a review as I feel people are quick to post negative reviews and slow to post positive reviews. My wife and I had Hansen Bro's install a fence in our yard this past week and they did a great job! Extremely professional and GREAT costumer service! We worked with Doug and he did a great job at answering any questions we had and working with us to get the best deal! Highly recommend to anyone who has fencing needs!

I've never written a bad review as I've always tried to work things out with a company directly. But after multiple times requesting service, I've yet to have anyone show up or return my calls. I would advice everyone to do business elsewhere. I even contacted a Hansen family member and they didn't return my call. I explained that the repairs needed were for security because I have a pool. It didn't matter - no one showed. Again, don't do business with this company. I'm contacting the better business bureau.

Junkies, alcoholics, degenerate, guys on probation and cons will come and install your fence. They drink, do drugs and smoke while installing in your property. All allowed by owner.

If you get your fence half way done, expect to wait between three, six months or next winter for the job completion if ever. You will get every lie under the sun as bs excuses. There is no collection agency or lien threat. It costs money and the owner is a cheap $0B. The owner is there and will avoid you everytime. Don't bother calling. Small repairs.fyi posts cost less than 100.00 Labor is 10.00 an hour per man under the table.

Do not get suckered into paying 500.00 for a post repair. If your a woman do not apply here unless you want to get treated like a piece of meat. Belittled, sexually harassed and demeaning. Disgustingly dirty office and bottom feeder owner. Three of four reviewers are installers & gave good reviews here and on facebook, one is a wife. Ridiculous! Dont water your time. I am a former employee. Go with Midwest not Mid States a fake offspring owned by the Hansen as well. Molly no more!

I would give this company a less than half of a star if i could. I have wrote many reviews on many businesses I have dealt with on google and this one ranks up there with the worse. As a local guide I take these reviews serious to help the general public. We purchased a home in Apple Valley almost 2 years ago. We have a custom fence that was put in by this company.

During the high wind storms a few weeks ago a portion of our fence blew out. We called hansen bros and spoke to an employee named Brad. he let us know that our fence was made by west tech and they would have to replace it. We called west tech and they told us they sell the fence to places like Hansen bros so they would have to repair the fence. When we told him what happened and showed him pictures of our fence he said it was clear the fence was put up improperly.

There were visible gaps in the fence which caused it to blow apart. West tech told us the winds in Mn were topped out at 25 mph during the storm that damaged our fence. They let us know their fences are tested in hurricane like conditions.so it was construction that was the problem. We called back to Hansen bros and spoke to a man named Doug who said he was in charge and would get back to us.

When he called back he said they would not be helping us with the fence and we could book them and pay them more for a service call. They didn't seem to care that the fence was never done correctly in the first place. We thought this was very shotty service for a fence that cost well over 10k and was special order. It was also horrible business practice as we were going to ask them for an estimate to extend the fence when they came to repair the small portion. As a local guide/reviewer my suggestion would be to go with a much more customer friendly fencing company. We have added photos also. Good luck

They had three different crews working. No one knew from day to day what the plan was. They didn't work with levels or stringers. No wonder my fence isn't straight. Never again. And if I can prevent one person on yelp from dealing with them -I'd be happy. Spend more money and go with someone else!

Don't do it! Go with someone else. Salesman had poor follow through and there were multiple excuses along the way. The crew was nice enough, initial tear down crew did a really poor job of clean up and left things in the neighbor's yard. Took over a week to finish for a tiny yard.

The guy was a no show. We had an appointment with Brad to do an estimate on Friday at 6:00 p.m. At 6:20 I called him to see if he was having difficulty finding our location. He said that he was on his way, but was in traffic so he would be a little late. My husband had just come from that area and said that traffic was not that heavy. He did not show up or even call me back.

It is now Tuesday afternoon, four days later, and I never received a phone call with any kind of explanation for this rude inconvenience. Do NOT waste your time with this company, and do your research and check out their other sub-par reviews. I wish I would have before I wasted a Friday evening waiting around.

Their installation team has shown up twice without setting up an appointment or calling first, leaving us with no option but to put our small business operations on hold so they could just get it over with.

Competitive bid but had several issues with scheduling and quality. In hindsight wish we had gone with Premier, another smaller firm, or I dare say even Midwest.

Poor craftsmanship AND poorer customer service! Heidi visited my property for an estimate. She was very courteous and professional. I decided to go with them in part because they are supposedly a conscientious locally owned family business. It was explained to me that there may be some minor settling in the ground after install and that they would be happy to come back and make the adjustments necessary for me to enjoy my investment for years to come. 9 months later one of the gates has settled so dramatically that it is virtually useless.

The $3,300 investment in my property now needs to be held closed with a bungee cord. I've called multiple times and was assured that someone would be out to remedy the shoddy work and no one has even showed. 18 months now and they refuse to return my calls. Please learn from my mistake and spend your money with a company that values it's products, customers and reputation.

This company is a head ache. Every time I need a repair, it takes on average 3 months to accomplish. This is no easy 3 months either. I have had to call numerous times to get someone to look at it.

Terrible quality and customer service! My "new" black, chain link fence had scraches and scrapes all over it. There solution was to spray paint it. Really? Also 2 out of the 3 gates were installed wrong. One was so croocked it was a joke. One of the owners came to fit it and it's still not straight.
