Magic Pest & Lawn

I have been meaning to leave this review for 4 years now, but I am terrible about leaving reviews. I'm actually glad I waited so that I can brag on Magic pest from a 4-year customer point of view. Here's our story. We were purchasing an old house here in Austin. During our inspection, we paid for an additional termite inspection, with a different ATX company not to be named here, that said we were all good on termites.

My Relator asked if they would get in the attic to check, and the guy wouldn't go up there, saying it was a "liability" and that termite damage almost NEVER shows up in attics. Flash forward to us beginning our renovation and my contractor had to take down drywall in one room. MASSIVE termite damage. I called magic pest and lawn who showed up immediately to assess the situation.

The FIRST place he went? You guessed it, the attic. It was so bad the headered were destroyed. Yes, he could 100% see the awful damage from the attic. If the inspection we paid for would have seen that, it could have saved us almost 30K in repair work. We came up with a treatment and prevention plan that day. Since that day Magic pest and lawn has been a dream to work with.

They either call or email me every 3 months to set up treatment. I don't even have to think about it or put a reminder for myself, because they handle that for me. Every pest control specialist who has come out to our home has been professional, kind, and respectful of our home. They even take off their shoes when entering our home. Now, for the reason I couldn't wait any longer to brag.

We have been having a weird roach problem over the past couple of weeks that we have NEVER had before. (I swear we are obsessively clean and take care of our house, so this was very weird.) I assumed the excessive heat was causing bugs/roaches to come inside. Again, we have NEVER had this happen in the 4 years we have been in this home utilizing MP+L services.

I emailed Neal to let him know that the last treatment didn't seem to be working, he had someone out within 36 hours to retreat the house, free of charge. Well, I found out last night that renovations began on the house next door, and that they uncovered a massive infestation of roaches. The contractor/owner said it was the worst he has ever seen. (Obviously, this is where our issue was coming from; not the heat.) Since our re-treatment was today, I let the Specialist know what I found out, so he went above and beyond to spray the exterior to help prevent roaches from coming our way while they correct the problem next door.

I really can't sing their praises high enough. I tell all my friends about them and now the neighbor next door. It was about time I told the rest of Austin. Use this local Austin company and you won't have any regrets!

I reached out about getting rid of pests in my home, they responded asking for details of the situation, which I gave, and then they never responded to me again. The least they could do is tell me they aren't able to help me.

Not impressed. Had found "evidence" of mice/ rats in our attic. Called them because of God reviews on Yelp. young guy came & looked around attic. said there are "probably" mice up there (duh) but he couldn't see where they were coming/ going from because of the sprayed in insulation. He was about to leave & I asked if he put in Traps. He said no, did I want him to?

He quoted a price & seemed to expect me to say that was too much. He obviously didn't want to bother. Much to his disappointment, I think, I said yes I had to ask about him about checking the Traps. It was late in the week (Thurs or Fri).he said he "could probably" get back by Monday or later. I said it needed to be soon because, if we caught something, I didn't want it to suffer.

I had to call on Monday (I'd heard nothing) They came Tues. Didn't end up taking Traps (or telling me they didn't). so when I went up weeks (!) later, I was very grateful to find them empty. I set them off and put out Bait Traps that my ROOFER suggested. Won't call them again.

Magic Pest and Lawn was wonderful. They got me an appointment right away. Luis came out and sprayed our new home and yard just in case any creepy crawlies are hiding out before we move in. He was very professional, kind and helpful. I will post again once we move in and see how the big situation

Moved to Austin last summer and was not prepared for the bugs. Found Magic Pest and have been happy ever since. Our tech is Justin and he's always on time, fast, and friendly and ever since we started (general indoor/outdoor bug services and fire ant services for the backyard) we haven't had any issues. I have 2 young kids and a dog, so Justin always gives me a heads-up that he'll be at our house soon so that I can get them all in the right place. Very happy with Magic Pest, highly recommend!

This will be my final review for this company as we are moving out of the area. But as usual.on time, efficient, and friendly. Nathan did the service this time and instead of just showing up early called to make sure that worked for us. I can tell you that when we bought this house 5 years ago it was in rough shape.amongst other things we had a cockroach and spider issue. With the help of Magic Pest and Lawn the place now is clear (for the most part. We do realize some critters are helpful) so thanks to Neal and his team for the great work.

You know that service you've been meaning to break up with but just haven't had the time/energy to research potentials, so you stick it out feeling slightly less than content but still hoping for the best? Yeah, I feel like I have a bit of that going on with Magic as their second visit did squat for keeping any kind of pests away from our property.

With that said, there were still some positives that I appreciated which included the technician who came out both visits, the seamless appointment confirmation and payment system, and no contract was required for their services. Now onto the bad - I first contacted Magic upon moving into our new construction home in Nov 2021. I expressed my concern with some fire ant hills on our lawn and explained that I wanted a general spray too as a preventative measure since I wasn't actually seeing any other pests inside nor outside our house. Nathan came out, and he was on-time, courteous, and professional.

No complaints about him at all, and he was in and out within 10 minutes (or less) after completing an inside and outside perimeter spray. After the first week, I wasn't noticing a difference in the fire ant activity so I called in again and was told that it was the end of the fire ant season anyway - give it some time, and it'll resolve itself.

I wasn't exactly pleased with the response, but it didn't develop into a worse problem so I let it go and eventually they did go away. Fast forward to March 2022, and it was time for a quarterly spray. I scheduled what I thought was the same service. Nathan came out again and again, he was communicative in letting me know he was on his way and was very polite in our brief interaction.

The issue now is that about a month later, I've been finding spiders on our stairway everyday, spiders in our pantry, spiders in our bathrooms, cockroaches in our kitchen, carpenter ants in our bedrooms (perks of having a property backing up to a greenway), a bunch of pests in our garage (I spend a couple hours every other day working out in there) including wolf spiders and a scorpion (!), and fire ants.

When my husband tried to reach out to Magic, nobody answered the phone; so he decided to text and let them know about our last service date. The employee on the other side tried to upsell him a $150 service to address the cockroaches because our quarterly spray wasn't intended for cockroaches and if that service didn't work, there would be a second required treatment with 30% off.

My husband passed on this. Then he was told that he'd have to pay $140 (+$20 additional for the inside) to eradicate the fire ant problem. When my husband reiterated that we had already paid for their service about a month ago which yielded less-than satisfactory results, he received an apology and was told that it would just be a $20 fee for a re-spray that would only cover spiders. To say I'm miffed would be a bit of an understatement as they failed to deliver and are charging me a second time for the same service.

Justin was fantastic. He even came through with crazy weather we were having. He answered all my questions and had great recommendations. His schedule freed up a bit and he offered to come earlier if it worked for me and it was awesome because the earlier time worked even better on my end. I highly recommend Magic Pest and Lawn and Justin.

I emailed back and forth with Neal to get a quote and set up an appointment. He was very responsive and was able to get me an appointment quick. Brent came out for my appointment and was fantastic. I explained to Justin, my technician, exactly how I wanted to handle my minor pest issue. Justin listened and was very respectful of my concerns. Justin followed my directions and sprayed the interior of my garage and the exterior of my home. I am very pleased with the level of service provided and the value. I also appreciate Justin's professionalism. I would not hesitate to use this business again.

Dig these folks. They have mad skills and wicked smart solutions. Don't deal with bugs. Make 'em bug off! MP&L leave their spray and the critters run. MP&L 4 life.

Neal is the owner and is very responsive to messaging on yelp and other platforms. He made it a breeze to get someone scheduled to deal with our wasp issue. Brent was the technician who came out to our home and he was super courteous and respectful of our home. They got rid of most of the nest and sprayed the area to try and keep the wasps away, but unfortunately they came back and tried to start setting up shop again.

I messaged Neal and Brent came out promptly to scape more of the nest away and respray with pesticides and repellent. I appreciate them standing behind their service and making sure the job is done, even if it means coming back out. All of their services include a spray of the perimeter as well, which is an added bonus for how reasonable their pricing is. We will definitely be using Magic Pest and Lawn in the future.

Brent was prompt, friendly, professional, thoroughly sprayed, and gave me the confidence that we won't be seeing roaches anytime soon! Started using Magic pest when we moved from Houston to Austin and it's been great so far, easy to schedule, friendly & knowledgeable technicians and fair pricing. They also don't do the scans other pest companies run where they charge exuberant prices but will give steep discounts if you sign a contract for a year with them at some unnecessary frequency so go with them if you want an upfront and transparent pricing.

We don't have any major issues so can't speak to that but just general pests are taken care of. The technicians respect your home practices and will wear masks and take off shoes as needed.

I love Magic Pest & Lawn! I use this company for quarterly pest control services in and around our home. The appointments are very easy to schedule and the treatments are effective. It's given me such peace of mind around our home! I also always appreciate the great professionalism and quick work of the technicians, like Brent, who come out to treat our home. I'll definitely be using this company as long as possible!

Brent did a fantastic job coming out to give me a quote on sealing some outdoor entry points for future prevention of rodents. He came back the next day to perform the job quickly and efficiently. He explained every step of the way and took before / after photos. He also set up a bait station to check back for rodents, and all prices were very reasonable for the quality of work and care. Neal's secretary was also very quick in communication and answered all of my questions right now. Would definitely recommend Magic Pest & Lawn!

This is my first time using a pest control company and I went with Magic Lawn due to the great reviews online. I haven't been able to sleep at night with all the attic sounds, since moving into our new house. Luis and Justin have been great! They're knowledgeable and explained the issue. Luis also came in a few times to set and remove traps and took the necessary time to close up possible entry points into the house. Would recommend them!

I was REALLY hoping the 4th time was the charm as far as local pest control companies, but apparently not. The ONLY follow-up messaging I received after my first visit was a request from the person who came for a positive Google review. When I texted asking how long the mosquito traps take to work (because they don't) it was crickets. When I e-mailed asking when they were going to refresh the rodent and mosquito traps it was crickets. So.once again I paid some dudes to do absolutely nothing.

As my previous reviews show, Magic Pest and Lawn takes good care of my home. Brent did a great job today to spray the areas needed to ensure that I don't have any bugs or pests. I really appreciate the good job, courtesy and attention to detail that Brent did today! It's also great that the company supports the local community with donation to public radio, KUTX, which is my favorite station.

Justin came to spray for roaches and a take of a yellow jacket nest at our recently moved into home. He expertly navigated around stacks and stacks of boxes to get into all of the tricky places they hide without us even having to ask. He knocked down the yellow jacket nest and removed it to make sure that they wouldn't come back. I've used magic for two years now at two different homes, and I'll always recommend them. They're a small, local company that truly cares for both their customers and their employees.

I've been using Magic Pest & Lawn for almost 2 years now for routine sprays and they are awesome, affordable, and super quick to respond to any request I have. They don't force you into a contract, they send you email reminders each quarter but you aren't obligated to use them if you don't need any pest service. They communicate well and the tech who's been to my house the last few times, Brent has been great to work with. He even sent pics of this huge wasp nest he just knocked down for us on the 2nd story.

The team is knowledgeable and does a quick but thorough job while also keeping an eye out for any other potential issues. They ask questions while onsite and offer great recommendations between services. Magic has taken care of use for 3+ years and have always done excellent work. The entire team is helpful, professional, and cares. We have added mosquito control to our quarterly service and it has performed well beyond my expectations. They do a great job of listening to your concerns and customizing service to meet your needs. No pushy sales talks or contracts.

We have multiple pets and small children and they worked with us to find solutions that are effective and safe for everyone. Call them and you won't be disappointed. They're. Magic at what they do.

I am so scared of bugs. Like, screaming, bumbling idiot who will leave my child mid-swing at the park if I see a bee-type scared. We had a spider problem inside and outside our home, and these guys TOOK CARE OF IT! Can't say enough great things about these guys! They have been fantastic to work with and solve any bug-related issues. They came to spray the inside and outside of my house, and about a month later I found a different type of bug around my house (eew!) and they did a "touch up" session at no charge.

I also called them literally screaming and crying when I found a wasps nest in my a garage. They took care of that as well! Their scheduling and invoicing process is really easy and straightforward. The pests are away and these guys don't play. Thank you for tolerating my bugphobic antics, Magic Pest and Lawn.

Brent was so amiable and knowledgeable about the services offered. He explained the services I was paying for thoroughly, which I like to know ahead of time to make sure I agree with the services, as I have two dogs and want to make sure they're safe after services rendered. So far, the ant hills that Brent treated have dried, and he also went above and beyond to remove two wasp nests that I pointed out to him. Everything was according to the services description and details. Great job!

Really awesome all-around experience handling a few wasp nests around our windows and doors that were increasingly disconcerting. Everyone at Magic Pest and Lawn was extremely knowledgable, professional, and friendly. from call back to schedule an appointment, to performing the removals. Nathan, who came out to take care of it was really terrific -- very patient with my explaining the situation, talking through questions and the course of action.

Being too high up to spray, he removed the nest and applied a powder agent. Wasn't before long that he finished the job and we were all set. Last, but not least, topping off the easy experience. the appointment notifications over text, including invoicing payable with Apple Pay made the administrative detail a breeze.

We have struggled with mosquitos for years after buying our home. We have tried numerous companies with little to no results. With Magic Pest, the impact was almost immediate. There are still some mosquitos, but they usually appear after a big rain storm. But thanks to Magic Pest, we can enjoy our back yard again. The team is always responsive, professional and courteous. They came out to do a termite inspection and our first spraying for new service. The technician was good and even went in our attic when requested just to check for any problems. The only drawbacks were the spray did leave a visible reside on the tile in our home. We also still saw bugs after they sprayed and requested a respray. The day scheduled, no one showed up or called. They did come the next day and apologized for the mixup. So far no more bugs since the respray.

I've been using Magic Pest and Lawn for four years now and continue to return to them because they are great at communicating with me, that work with my schedule, and they stand behind their work. Today, Nathan showed up for an ant problem and he took the time to find the source. He explained his strategy very well to me, was aggressive outside where there wouldn't be impact to me or my pets, and was conservative in treating the areas inside. Nathan reminded me of their 30 day guarantee and was so friendly. Highly recommend this company as they have great employees and they stand behind their work.

I was able to get a quote and schedule my first quarterly pest control treatment in just a couple of hours. The day of my scheduled treatment, the crew reached out to let me know they could stop by sooner, which worked out perfectly for my schedule. The crew was friendly and very efficient. I'd highly recommend.

We've been using Magic for this past year for the In2Care mosquito traps so that we could have a kid-friendly preventative method while living near a creek. They've always been super friendly to deal with via email and phone. Today we had Justin come out to do a treatment for carpenter ants coming in via trees adjacent to the house. He was super friendly to work with and arrived right on time.

We checked out the concern area and he gave us a treatment around the house with Fuse. Also confirmed that once it's dry it's safe around kids / pets. Highly recommend!

I have been using Magic Pest and Lawn since I purchased my house in 2018. I first heard of them through their support of KUT/KUTX. I figured if they wanted to support community radio, they were probably a great business to work with. Scheduling with Neal is always quick and easy through email. We have quarterly treatment for pests and then monthly In2Care mosquito pot treatments.

Although I rarely interact with the service techs, because I'm working when they stop by and don't need interior treatment, they are always super friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful of social distancing/masking during the pandemic. Today, Justin really went above and beyond! I ignored his phone call because I get so many spam calls; then I missed his door bell ring because I was in the other room; luckily, he sent me a text to let me know he was at my house. We waved at each other through my office window and communicated through a series of pantomimes and thumbs ups. Definitely recommend Magic Pest and Lawn!

I am so glad I found Magic Pest - super responsive and nice to work with. Neal, the owner, is very quick to respond and get you scheduled. I was experiencing some roach activity and while I've had other big pest control companies come, I don't feel like they were ever willing to answer questions and I still saw issues. Other than burning the place down (I hate bugs), I thought I would try somewhere else.

When the Magic guys came out (Nathan was great!) - he was so helpful and nice to answer all my questions. I also was able to schedule another appointment to get some small holes sealed up. So far, haven't seen anything and am hoping it stays that way! Either way, big fan of the service.

I called around and they had the most reasonable pricing compared to our local places for just a routine spray in and around our house. I was able to schedule them to come out the next day! And they sent me the bill to pay online which was very convenient.
