RockAway did a phenomenal job on my remodel for my kitchen and two bathrooms. I am more than pleased with the quality of work and everyone was easy to work with and very attentive. I will be using them again next year for other home projects I have! Services: Design, Remodeling

Response to Barry Thombs: Regardless of this "he said, , I said" conversation, Barry wrote a contract that said he would sand, prep, and paint our cabinets. He gave a 5 year warranty on his work and now he refuses to stand behind his work. He never added any qualifiers or rider statements to his contract that would exclude the painting from being covered.

There are many things in his response that are incorrect but those reading his reply will sense the overall tone of his response. It is very much in keeping with the way he is willing to treat his customers if he has an issue with you. I did have him do our master shower. I decided to go with him BEFORE the paint started peeling. My daughter has some mobility issues so we were changing our shower to a curbless shower.

Yes it would have been best to have had the whole master bath floor redone at the same time. We simply didn't have the money at the time. Yet he pressured and pressured to let him do it all.more money for him. I asked that the showerhead be at a specific height and when it was 6 inches lower, he got furious when I asked him to raise it. (He only had to move the shower head once.) Asked me, can't you make do with that?

Then the shower head leaked water in the wall and they had to remove the sheetrock behind it to fix it.took them three times to fix the leak. The only people on either of these projects I dealt with were Barry and his project manager. I had no dealings with the tradesmen.

The Rockaway crew were true professionals and did a fabulous job on remodeling our kitchen. The work was completed efficiently and the area was cleaned up at the end of each work day. Things were not always perfect, but it only took one phone call or text and they corrected all issues immediately. They are not the cheapest contractor, but the quality of work far outweighs the cost. Special kudos to Jose and Chris for the great drawers in the kitchen and Barry Thombs for great design ideas. I highly recommend. this honest company.

Called to get beams installed on our 16' ceiling. Sent out Geoff & he did a awesome job. We called 6 other people that left us hanging. Should have called Rockaway first! Will use them again.

This was our first major remodel in our 1978 built home. We wanted to go with a company that would see this project through from start to finish within a timeline that they set and met. We wanted to avoid a "piecemeal" project which might take months or years to do and cause much disruption in our pet-filled household. We specifically asked for a handicap/senior accessible design with a roll-in shower with shower bench, low vanity tops, widened doorways, grab bars, great lighting, a walk-in closet.

We reconfigured the area which required much demolition and rebuild. We got exactly what we wanted. From initial design (and re-design), Barry, the owner walked us through the entire process and made sure we knew what was about to happen. His project manager John and all the sub-contractors came when they said they would, addressed any issues as they came up, were cognizant of our needs and were professional and skilled in all that they did.

They sent a cleaning crew at the end to clear away all the dust and dirt that naturally occurs with a project like this. Blake and Lori at the office were great also! When I read negative reviews about this company, I have doubts that these reviewers actually did work with Rockaway. It just doesn't seem possible! Everyone associated with Rockaway cared about the work that they did, were very responsive to our needs and were excellent communicators. Their customer service is top-notch and they made our first remodel a very positive experience. We highly recommend them!

We just completed a kitchen remodel. Everything is new and we even changed the configuration of the kitchen a bit. I absolutely love everything about my new kitchen! The work is great and everything moved along as scheduled. People came when I was told they would be there. I can't say enough good things!

The cleanup crew is here now. I love everything about complete kitchen remodel. Barry is excellent about suggestions that will work for my taste & life style. John, project manager, made sure all crews were scheduled and working as planned. When I get the recycled appliances in, I will let you know how space works. Only thing left to do is drawers & cabinet handles. 17 working days from start to finish just like Predicted. Would have been finished in 14 days, if backsplash tile hadn't been back ordered & I wasn't indecisive on handles. So excited.

The RockAway Company has done 2 major jobs for me in addition to painting my entire house. The first job was a remodel of the kitchen. Their creative design was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The second job was a remodel of the master bathroom. Again, their creative design was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Their craftsmen have worked for them for years and are very easy to discuss any situation with that may arise.

Their project manager is the best and is present when you need him. At the end of the work day, the area they are working in is left very clean. RockAway may not be the cheapest contractor, but I will assure you, the quality of work is the best. I will utilize them again should I have another job. It is without any reservations or hesitations that I completely recommend the RockAway Company.

RockAway did a fantastic job on two bathrooms, and we had them back for other work. Important to us was that they were on time with their work schedule and there were no delays. Craftsmen know each other and do a lot of work for RockAway, and do it well. I can't seem to post pictures here, but it all looks and works great.

We had our master bath remodeled by Rock Away a year ago. Every thing we were told; about the quality of trades people they use, products they use was superior. We had a serious issue with water damage under the window, and knew we needed to do it right. We did call 3 of the recommendations, not sure if they were real. EVERYTHING this company did was below sub-par.

The tile "professionals" did not cut, match seams, of the backer board, the gout lines are crooked and the tile is NOT flush. The window ledge is not slanted, so water just sits. The grout is already failing. EVERYTIME we tried to address the awful work, we were told it is "within industry standards". We called the main office, and got nowhere. The workers left trash, an open ladder in our backyard, on a Friday, I had to go and clean up mess after mess.

The specific list goes ON and ON. Our concerns were never fully corrected. It got to the point, we just wanted them out of our house. Horrible craftsmanship and customer service.

Rockaway repaired our house after a fire. After we moved in we noticed how poorly the repairs were done. We started a list of items that needed to be fixed under the warranty. It took many attempts to contact them and get a response. We finally got them to our house to make the repairs and they were horribly done. The front door was leaking air so we herd a very high pitched noise when it was windy. Attached is a picture of how they "fixed" it.

We had a corner in the bathroom that was missing drywall. They filled the hole with caulking. The list could go on forever. Please save yourself the hassle and go with a different company. The other review is who we bought our house from.
