No work was done and they were evasive and unresponsive after originally agreeing to place a bid. Scheduled an appointment to add a 240V outlet to my house, they came out a week later to review the work and said they'd let me know the next day what the bid would be. I called them three days later and they said they were too busy with their workload but would get back to me within the next week.

I called two weeks later after no update and they repeated their prior explanation. One month later I called and they did not answer. I left a voicemail voicing my frustrations and asked once more for a bid before I was going to seek another company to do the work they kept telling me they would do but consistently failed to follow through on. They called back a week later and left a voicemail with me saying they were still very busy and that if I wanted to seek another company, I could.

If they had been upfront about their workload to begin with, I may have been more understanding, but they continuously kicked the can down the road, keeping me from getting the work done while they ignored me. I eventually went to another contractor and the work was done within a week of my original call.

I called American Electrical Service after hours to restore power to an area of the house after I incorrectly installed a light switch and couldn't get power restored to the area of the house. They were responsive and made it out the same evening, which was great. After about 30 seconds the electrician (David) was able to assess and fix what ended up being a tripped breaker. He also helped install the light switch while he was there. All in all, great to work with.

This is a great company that treated us like family. We had a problem with the lights in our two guest rooms. Wouldn't you know it but it happens when we have guests. After calling a few other companies that wanted to send electricians next week, I landed on American Electric Service. They offered to have an electrician out the same day (it did fall into their emergency service fee but not having guests in the dark was worth the cost). Adam was dispatched to take care of us and what a great job he did!

He was able to find and fix the problem within the allotted first hour. He then did a couple extra electrical tasks to fill up the rest of his time. He was able to add a dimmer to the lights over our bar and add two push button timers to our bathrooms. (which took him over a bit but I was okay with that since I wouldn't have to pay another service fee). Adam was very respectful when coming and going from the house and chatted with my guests. I've found my go-to Electricial company. Thank you very much!

Had an emergency and the gentleman who answered the phone told me what to do to fix it. I will use them in the future for any electrical needs. Outstanding customer service.

Expect to pay $180 even if no service is done. Here less than 5 minutes and still charged $90 fee (I expected to pay the $90 appt fee). Hours late to appt without notice. However very polite nice man.

Called on a Saturday for service and he came right out. Quick service and fixed the problem! Will definitely use again

David and his team at American Electric were wonderful to work with--professional, courteous, responsive.

I set up an appointment 2 weeks prior at 9 am. 9:15 rolled by and I called and they said it would be closer to 10 because of filing/paperwork. 10 o'clock rolled by, nobody showed. I called at 10:30 and they said he left 10 minuted ago. I only live 10 minutes away so they should be showing up any moment. 15 minutes later I cancelled my appointment because nobody showed and I needed to leave to get to work. 11 o'clock comes up and they finally show up but I sent him away because I already cancelled and was heading to work.

Being this late isn't acceptable. But even worse is the fact that they never once called me to tell me they were running late. I had to call every time to get info that they were being late. Don't set up with these guys unless you clear your schedule and don't mind a 2 hour delay.

We went to turn on the kitchen lights and they were dead. We tried the circuit breaker and it was not a go. Then we called AES, David came out right away and found we had a dead line - probably from the house settling and a nail nicking a wire inside the wall. He did a quick fix (it was Sunday of course) then came back on Monday and did a great job of wiring a go around the dead wire.

While he was there, we told him we needed our garage light to be changed. It was a long bulb that would not light up. He changed out the fixture to an LED situation that is much Cheaper and much Brighter. Did I mention every one at AES is pleasant and cheerful. Everyone. If they allowed 10 stars, I would give them 10. Thank you AES.

Excellent service. We called on a Saturday and needed some work done urgently before a Monday inspection. Thank you so much for coming out within an hour and getting a long list of stuff done within 2 hours and for a very reasonable price. The inspection went very well and we are now pending! Thanks again.

I called David on Sunday morning to leave a message so I could get in the que to have my electrical work done sometime next week. Two zones in my house died Friday afternoon of Memorial Weekend and flipping GFI and breaker switches didn't fix the problem. The circuit keep breaking. It was inconvenient, but not devastating. David said next week was totally booked by he might be able to come out Monday morning (Memorial Day itself).

He was there at 8am this morning and done by 9:15. He figured out there was a crossed wire in my 90 year old wiring out in one of my garages. He isolated it and bypassed the problem. I can't say enough about the service. I've found few trades people who would provide next day service on a national holiday. Give all your electrical business to American Electric.

It's only fitting that I leave my positive review due to finding American Electric Service on Yelp and using them because of their great customer reviews In a world where it is non stop frustration whenever trying to do business with anyone and always being put off with no return phone calls or follow ups when they were suppose to already have the job done.etc. American Electric was fantastic and fixed the problem with zero issues. Just had David from American Electric Service, here to fix my electric stove. He made time to come over today. He called an appliance repair company to check for a part. They stated the part was obs no longer available. In checking he discovered the part was no longer necessary. Whew thanks to him he got the stove working and I needn't purchase a new stove. The repair was reasonably priced also. Will keep his card for future jobs, highly recommend their company!

They were so receptive to my emergency after the wind storm and the electrical was destroyed to our well. Came out the day I called, wired the next day (even though they were very busy). County and PGE out the next day, and we had our water back. Thank you for being so considerate of our plight. Patrica

American Electric Service lives up to their name--SERVICE. We had an outage in the circuit that serves our furnace and several rooms. David came within a half hour of our call and identified the affected breaker. However, he didn't stop until he'd figured out the ultimate cause of the problem and resolved it. He is professional and mild mannered. His Good Neighbor Discount is a plus! We will not hesitate to call him again.
