WORST EVER! It took 8 months to do a simple cosmetic renovation and when it was done it was a train wreck! At one point, when I was out of town for my Father's funeral, I received a notice from the Town of HP that I had a possible water leak and come to find out Jim never turned off my auto-fill when he drained the pool! The coping was cracked, plaster had splotches and stains and the auto-fill never worked again.

His workers said he owed them money and that they didn't trust him. If I hadn't been so far into the project I would have fired him. He told me in front of my daughter that he wanted to date me and lay on the sofa, drink wine with me and cuddle (barf!) and I rejected him then 3 days later I got a bill for more than double what I owed! I sent him an email showing him the math and exactly what I owed.

He argued with me and sent me to collections. when I gave the collection agency all of my emails and photos they apologized for what I had been through. He ended up settling for far less than what I actually owed. In my opinion he's dishonest and shady and I wouldn't let him pull weeds in my backyard Let alone touch my pool!

Jim Ohlenburg is awesome to work with and highly recommend them. The team was super helpful and responsive while designing our pool.

We have been trying to get in touch with This company because we are owed $6000 over a long period of time and we are calling to collect and no answer. Is this company still in business? Services have been rendered but payment has not been met. I wonder if still around.

I have worked for ohlenburg pools for decades as a subcontractor. I recently completed work for him. The homeowner and jim were extremely happy. The home owner paid him for the work. He had never paid me. Going on 6 months. I will have to sue the home owner and force them to pay for the work twice at this point to get paid. Do not end up in this situation.

Do not do business with Jim ohlenburg. For the record. I did not go after the homeowner for this debt. They paid jim he's the one that is in the wrong and I can not in good concise do that to them. But others may not be so kind. Your warned do business with Jim at your own risk. I made the initial post 6 months ago. Now about a year since I did the work. This is a update. Still does not respond to me. He's a thief. Yes I'm a veteran. 10 years Navy.

We are the folks who Sean mentioned. Jim has fallen off the face of the earth. Will not respond to phone, text, email. He built us an awesome pool but will not fix issues with electrical that he did. We really liked the guy but cannot recomend.

Do not use Ohlenburg Pools - they hire sub contractors for their projects and then fail to pay the subcontractors for completed work. Extremely unethical business practices.

Jim is a THIEF and a LIAR! He will start your pool (if you beg and plead long enough), ask you for draws up to half of the quote and then won't finish the work. Then he will quote you pricing on outdoor kitchen appliances, you pay him in full to get the appliances, he cashes the check and you never get your appliances because he never ordered them. NO MONEY HAS BEEN RETURNED! *******DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY******* STEAL YOUR MONEY! *******.***********************************

Note the fake reviews below- the Horners are family members (Amanda is his wife). I hired this company for pool cleaning and they caused a lot of problems. Very non-responsive. I only used them for 2-3months and had to have my filters cleaned and my ozonator repaired due to pressure build up from excessive algaecide turning my pool into a washing machine. Jim Ohlenburg didn't care. If they can't clean pools how can they build them.

Ohlenburg Pools hired our excavation company to excavate a new pool last August, but will not pay the invoice. Numerous attempts to contact him and his company regarding payment have been ignored. Very unprofessional!
