Kirk came to Reno in 1976 from Las Vegas where he was born. During his senior year at Sparks High school, a scout came to talk to his Auto class about going into the heating & air conditioning trade. It was then that Kirk decided this is what he wanted to do. He graduated from Sparks High in 1983 and then went on to the Universal Technical Institute in Arizona.
He graduated from there in 1984. Kirk came back to Reno and went right to work for a prominent heating & air conditioning company for six years. During this time he also trained in the 350 Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union for four years, graduating in 1988.

The work Weakland did was fine; the customer service horrific. Anna was continually harassing my realtor and myself during a trying time selling my elderly father's property. This was after a 20 year history with my father and his heating and air unit. She made questionable comments regarding Christmas gifts from my father, as well as requesting a decorative item she had seen in his home. Highly inappropriate comments from a service provider to or about an elderly client. Very unprofessional and unpleasant.

Anna and Kirk go above and beyond. They exceeded my high expectations. I called in the morning, and despite their busy schedule, Kirk fixed my broken furnace that afternoon. Without getting into the details, it was clear that Anna had her hands full attending urgent family needs. Yet, she went out of her way to get me on the schedule. They model what a small business should look like.

Our furnace died a few years ago on Thanksgiving Day. The owner and his wife came out that day. He diagnosed the problem, and repaired it. and it was snowing. We've used Weaklands for years for preventative maintenance on our HVAC system. The furnace was getting ancient and it was time to get a new one. The price was really reasonable and we also had our 43 year old dryer vent replaced since it was kind of built jacked up when they built the house. Thank you Kirk!

Too busy and won't even make an appointment to service an air conditioning unit. I will NEVER call them again. **UPDATE** 5 minutes after posting this I received a call back telling me that they can't take any new customers because an employee passed away last week from a terminal illness. - I'm very sorry for your loss but trying to shame me on the phone for this review is disgusting.
I called your competitor down the street and they will be here tomorrow. **UPDATE #2** Shannon, you can spin this any which way you wish. First and foremost I was never disrespectful or rude to you on the phone - no one like a liar and you made it clear that you were not taking on any new customers never mentioning anything about "for a few weeks".
When I asked to schedule an appointment for my 81 and 86 year old parents, you asked if we were an existing customer. I replied no and you said that you were sorry and were not taking on any new customers (period). My reply to you was how surprised I am to hear you did not want any new customers and that I would reflect that in my yelp review. Your call back to me was after you saw that I actually posted this review and at that point you told me about your terminally ill employee that passed away last week.
As a business owner myself, I understand how our employees become part of our family and as I stated before, I am truly sorry for your loss. What is disheartening to me is that you actually never mentioned any of this in our first conversation and now you want to spin your lack of communication onto me for giving you this low score review. I am demoting this review now from one star to NONE - the score you deserve for the way you have handled a potential customer and now others can read this and decide if they want to do business with you.

The tech, Wayne was super friendly and helpful. And when it came time to setting up the settings and making sure everything worked, he checked all of it right in front of me. Meanwhile, the lady on the phone was was super nice with helping me register it. We got the thing registered and the app setup on my phone in maybe 5 minutes.

Had a disturbing conversation on the phone with a woman here once. Trying to get information about an installation they did. Woman sounded like she may have been drinking possibly? The bottom line is my opinion is I received no cooperation and any kind of proof that this company had competence in the HVAC industry that I could trust. Maybe they just had the wrong person answering their phones? Did not inspire confidence to this reviewer.

Okay, I write this knowing that no one can keep everyone happy, especially in hvac, plumbing, general contractor work or the other services one needs when it comes to your home. However, Weaklands absolutely does their heat to do just that.keep you happy and warm/cool when you need it. I can't say enough about Kirk and his helper, they were clean, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly.
They held conversations not because they had to but because they wanted to and it wasn't fluffbit was about what was happening, why and what they were going to do to fix it. They are a locally, family-owned business and if you live in the Reno area you should be using Weaklands for all your HVAC needs. And to add the final cherry on top.price, what can I say it's reasonable to the point it makes others quotes unreasonable.
The added value of their mentality of family being brought into their work in worth so much more than even monetary savings. The office personnel were courteous and patient in explaining the bill and the service. All around a class act from everyone there. Thanks Weaklands!
