Sterling Custom Homes

This was the second home we have had Sterling build for us. The first one was 25 yrs ago. That was and is a great house. Because we wanted to down sized we had Sterling build us something a little smaller. We started building a year ago just as the pandemic began. We thought about holding off until after the pandemic. We talked to Sterling and their concern was that the construction industry would be in chaos coming out of the shut down.

They were right. We took their advice and we just moved onto our new home 2 weeks ago. There were some bumps through the construction because of the pandemic, but Sterling managed them and kept the project on track. To get a good feel for a Sterling home, you need to go visit one during the framing stage and look at the lumber Sterling puts in. Then go look at some other homes being framed by other builders. I think you'll see a big difference. In my opinion, Sterling builds a great custom home.

We thought only of Sterling to rebuild our home after our lightning/fire in 2019. They built it for us in 2005 and again in 2020. We are very pleased with our second Sterling-built home.

Sterling built our custom home in 2017 and it is both beautiful and functional. The process was efficient and actually enjoyable, from concept to design to construction to landscaping. Everything stayed on schedule because Sterling guided us through the many suppliers involved, and therefore we were able to make decisions in a timely way. Sterling executed.

Construction foremen were a pleasure to deal with. Any minor problems we have 3 years later - nothing to do with Sterling - Sterling takes care of them. Duke is a gem, a true professional.

We have built 3 homes and remodeled another from the studs. Sterling was by far the worst experience. If they are all about "the relationship" and addressing every concern of their homeowners, why do we still have issue(s) raised at or immediately after move-in that are unresolved 11 months later? Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Don't fall for the relationship sales pitch. We've lived in our Sterling home for 11 months and are still trying to get our house complete. We were never a priority to Sterling because they were building a spec Parade Home while building ours, we had a change in our superintendent 5 times, the list could go on! Perfection was never our goal, just completion in a reasonable period of time.

One of these days we can relax, enjoy, and appreciate our house.maybe when we don't have to accommodate workers/subcontractors several times a week and sometimes multiple in the same day.

We chose Sterling Custom Homes five years ago to build our dream home in Lakeway and we couldn't be more pleased with their professional and personalized attention. They had a wonderful group of sub contractors and their service levels were outstanding. If we were ever to build another house, without a doubt we would use Sterling Custom Homes as our builder.

Their homes are absolutely beautiful and the company send to take great pride in their work for the customer.

Our company has had the privilege to work with Sterling custom homes on a few projects recently and have been very impressed with their good communication and attention to detail. Keep up the good work, Austin is better with your great builds!

It's hard to believe that it has been over a year since we moved into our new, beautiful home. I apologize that it has taken this long, but wanted to write to let you know how much Ginny and I appreciated Sterling's effort and how wonderful both the experience and outcome were.

More importantly, the primary purpose of this letter is to thank you and all of your employees in helping us validate our decision to build our dream home.

We have been meaning to drop you a note and tell you how thrilled we are with our new home. We can't believe that the time is passing so very fast here. Now that the dust has settled (literally) and we take a look around us, we realize just how lovely and well built our 'Dream Home' happens to be.

If and when we decide to build again, we would head right back to Sterling!
