Called ahead, they opened shop early to get locks rekeyed for my customer. No EXTRA charge

Casey is quite the hothead, over a year ago he was in a hurry to return to his business and made a right turn off of Fowler almost running me over on my bike while I was on the sidewalk. When i raised my hands in protest, he said, "Do you want me to shoot you" I immediately called the Police, as I take threats like that very seriously and I followed him from a distance to his business.

Rather than apologizing, he played the victim and had me trespassed. Not a very stable individual, that you're entrusting your security with. Just thought you folks should know the type of character you're giving your business to.

Last May I called my this company to replace a lock on a service door. They did and I paid for the "PROFESSIONAL " service. Not even 5 months later the lock was not usable so I called them to looked what is going on and fully expected to be fixed under warranty. After 3 phone calls they came and fixed the lock and I received a another bill for a $160.

I asked owner Casey why I was charged again he told me there is only 20 days warranty and this is his company policy. I was also informed that the lock needed adjustment. I wonder what kind of skills his people poses? I will let everyone judge if this kind of business practices are acceptable. I know for sure I will never use them again and warn everyone I can.

I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE AN UPDATE WITH EVERYONE! About 15 min I posted my review I've received a phone call from Casey threatening to post a false bad reviews about my business. Again I will let everyone to make a judgment about honesty of ownership of Carl's lock and key and their business practices.

Picked up a new front door lock for my mothers house, went to Carl's to have it re-keyed to match my mom's set. The service was fast and great and it only cost me $16.00. I highly recommend the good folks at Carl's, They have my business for life, Thanks guys

After making several copies of my house key at Walmart (which only lasted me about week before bending or completely breaking) I googled a locksmith and Carl's lock and key came up. When I walked into the store the workers were very welcoming and nice! The service was fast and great quality! It only took about 30 seconds to cut a copy of my key and when the guy handed it back to me I couldn't even tell the difference between the original and the copy! If you're in the Tampa Bay Area and looking for a locksmith I 1000% recommend Carl's lock and key!

Casey, Please let me apologize for not getting back to you sooner to let you know we were actually able to find a key to the house after all! The next time that my aunt and uncle are taken from me in a double homicide, I hope I won't "disappoint" you as you stated in your voicemail. I appreciate that you were going to do it for free-- we had no idea.

That truly is a kind gesture. As you said, "better luck next time." Yes, the next time I have to call a locksmith within the first hour of taking possession of my murdered aunt and uncle's house from the sheriffs department, I do hope I'll have better luck. Maybe you will too, when you leave voicemails to customers. *Updating to add my response to Casey's message to me: I know you think that I'm "ridiculous for leaving this review." I wrote it after about 48 hours with 4 hours of sleep.

You said, "We tried to bend over backwards in an attempt to help you out and then you have the gall to leave a negative review." But what you don't understand is that I was very appreciative of your attempt to help. I would have left a positive review if you hadn't called back and left a condescending and heartless voicemail saying that we disappointed you.

Maybe I should have considered your feelings, but right then, I was facing the murder of two people who were like parents to me. I'm sorry but your unintended inconvenience was not a priority. We got back to you when we could have. And hearing your voicemail at the end of the day was just too much. "I have a feeling your life will be filled with as much self-created negativity as your review of my business." You're projecting, Casey. You wish my life will be filled with negativity because I called you out. That's unfortunate, and again, unprofessional.

For our most recent service, the locksmith arrived on time, was neat and professional, and even re-installed a lock that was upside-down without being asked to do so. They will not charge you until you tried the new key, and it really did open the door.

Even though after a few weeks my fiance and I have just remembered we need to pay for the new key, but Carl's said it's no big deal. We really appreciate the awesome service and great attitude from Carl's. It is wise to choose Carl's.

After going to the location, I took the deadbolt apart and left the exterior half of the deadbolt in the front door. ( I will add here that calls were made to find someone with a key, but everyone was out of town.) I called Carl's Lock and Key, and though closing soon, was advised to hurry over.

With just half of the deadbolt they made me two new keys from the interior half of the deadbolt, and I was on my way. I re-assembled the deadbolt, locked the window I had climbed out, and locked the front door deadbolt. Many thanks to Carl's Lock and Key for their expertise and experience in protecting the property and providing a safe solution in a worrisome situation.

I am a General Contractor-- had some serious problems with some access card and electric lock issues-Casey and his men were knowledgeable and worked with a smile on their faces at all times. Great service - came to Davis Island on short notice and replaced locks for an emergency situation. Great communication and Casey is "the man" for making this happen right away.
