We actually needed some shrubs to be removed as part of the fence install, and Chris worked with us to get it done quickly and for a fair fee. His team that did the install was also great. Highly recommend Smith Fence. Had them do both wood fence and chainlink on my property. Crew showed up on scheduled dates. They went above and beyond. We had our first quote from the big guys but they weren't willing to work with us on a special request but Smith Fence was. They gave us a great quote and stuck to it months later when we could finally get it installed, after other equipment in place. It is a beautiful, strong, vinyl fence and we couldn't be happier. Smith Fence Co was referred to me by 2 friends so I was hopeful they'd work out. I called twice to set up an appointment for a quote to replace a back fence and 2 gates on our property in the Mt Helix area but received no returned phone call; I requested the appointment on their website - finally got a call back. Chris was out of town. Okay, no problem.

We scheduled the appointment for Tuesday at 9am. Today is Tuesday, 9am came and went. I called at 0915 to find out if he was on his way. No answer, no call back; Ghosted. I can not rate their work because we never got to do business with them but this is my experience in setting up a quick meeting for a quote on what could have been a very lucrative project.

Chris and his team were a pleasure to work with. Chris came out within a couple days of me contacting him, and got us an estimate a few days later. His prices were nearly half some of the other estimates we got. Within the week we were scheduled and his team had the fence built by 4pm. It looks beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Couldn't recommend enough!

Top of the class service from a quality company! Chris and his team did an outstanding job with our fence installation. We had to battle rain, cement layers and irrigation changes and they did it all with a smile. I can't say enough about the quality and professionalism of Chris and his guys. Chris and his team did a great job installing a horizontal pine fence. His price was cheaper than a quote I received from another fence installer, not to mention all the other fence companies who never called me back. His two employees were very nice and worked non-stop for two days to finish the job quickly. We'll have to spend additional time and money to stain and seal the fence, but it's nice that we get to choose the final design. Just be aware of that when you take on this type of project.

Had our fence installed about a month ago, and we have been very happy with it and have received many comments about how great it looks. Board on board with Cap and Trim was a perfect replacement for our backyard. Communication from the company was excellent, they were on-time, and the guys worked hard to get the job done right in a short time. We are so impressed and so thankful to Chris and his team (Josh and Tony) for their amazing work and their accommodating schedule! We just bought a house that was partially fenced. We have dogs and were desperate to finish the fencing. However, we have a spillway through the property, so the fencing was going to be tricky, maneuvering next to it and along little slopes. Chris was the first person able to come out for an estimate (everybody was booked out) and understood exactly what we were looking for and our need for it (crazy dog people).

His estimate was one of the lowest, but he was knowledgable, personable, and someone we wanted to give our business to. He was also able to begin right away (finished before Christmas!), his team (also so nice, like Chris) finished quickly, and they did amazing work. We opted for chain link along one side, with 2 double gates, and wood on the other side with a gate.

All of the work looks awesome! And they were diligent in making sure the fence was tight to the ground in difficult spots to keep our dogs safe. We wanted to finish the yard with a wood fence for privacy, but decided to hold off for now. We will definitely reach out to Chris when we're ready to do that! Very happy and our dogs are ecstatic they can freely roam their yard!

We decide to go with Smith Fence Company after several estimates from other fencing companies. Chris is the owner he came out gave us some ideas we told him we wanted a vinyl fence his price was great and was way cheaper then the other well known companies. The date was set the friendly crew came out on schedule and they were awesome everything was cleaned up and hauled off. I will say they are five stars in my book!

So my fence is crap. Paid what I would have with a legitimate company and this is the kind of shit you get. Mind you my neighbor picked them and so we thought they did their homework but. Now we got stuck with half ass work. And will probably need to replace it sooner than later. Look at the pics! Is this what you want?

This is the second fence Chris has put up for me. Chris is easy work with, and the price was right. Like I said he put up a fence before and still looks good till this day - that is why I called him again This new fence is beautiful, and sturdy. He was here at 7:00am and was done by 2:00 - quick and done nicely. One small problem is with my gate to the street, I cannot open from the inside, and the latch is on the outside, something I did not noticed. So, the door opens outwards, and there is no room for me to move the latch to the inside.

I emailed him since his number is a landline and I can't send a text, and well he did not respond - which I am surprised. Just make sure too look at the small details, like the gate, if Chris does work for you.

Very easy to work with. Fence blew down in the last windstorm. Chris was easy to work with, estimate was fair, work was done promptly with a large crew in one day, and the new fence - with metal supports so this never happens again, is beautiful. The also fixed my loose, falling apart, broken side fence and gate, all for a SURPRISINGLY low price. And I got four estimates! Would highly recommend. And I'm hard to please.

We needed our fence to be replaced after a portion of our fence fell down due to strong winds. After getting quotes from four other contractors, we decided to go with this company for our fence. We needed a new gate and I wanted the new one to be a double gate so we could get equipment in our yard easily. Chris gave us a very fair price and came up with some great ideas on how to deal with the existing conditions. He takes pride in his work and the craftsmanship really shows. I started the following a few months ago with 5 stars as the rating. These guys are excellent! They installed a 75 foot board on board fence in one day. Chris is very accommodating and easy to work with. We look forward to working with him again on our fence on the other side of the house. Then we tried to get the fence on the other side done. Chris quoted, started the job and then vanished. Seriously, I mean vanished. They had installed a few posts to coordinate with our paver contractor and then never returned. Emails went unanswered.

I got a call from one of my tenants telling me the gate to his front yard fell over. I have had success with Smith Fence in the past as they have always helped me in a pinch. I called the owner "Chris Smith" and within an hour he was at my property accessing the issue. Chris and his crew ended up immediately building a new gate, reinforcing the posts with concrete and installing all new hardware!

I was blown away from the immediate service I received! The price was stupid low. This is a professional company that has been around for a very long time. He did the job for less than some handyman on Craigslist. I will always use Smith Fence and highly recommend them.

Chris Smith replaced the fence on the left side of my house about 3 months ago and now just replaced the fence on the right side of my house. Like the left side fence, I am very happy with the quality of his work. Chris is the owner of his Smith Fencing Company and he personally works on the job with a helper. They are super quick, use quality material (I got steel posts instead of wood posts), install new fence with a high degree of precision and they do not damage any surrounding plants. Also, Chris is highly competitive with his pricing! I do have one complaint - I can't get Chris to stop calling me "Sir".

Chris did a great job on a 155-feet section of 5-foot high metal chain link fence. He had completed a majority of our backyard fence (400 feet) last year. The work is impeccable and he does it without any fuss. His prices are very reasonable and the product superior than what you would get with larger, more expensive companies. Did a lousy job building my fence. I needed a replacement, he built it with an existing pole which was unstable.the fence sways and the latch comes undone. I've asked Chris to come out and fix it, first time it took a week after many promises and the second time for him to come out he's not responded I would not recommend this company

Under budget and ahead of schedule are things we don't usually get when it comes to home improvement projects. We are very happy that we get to say both about removing an old fence and putting a new fence around 2 acres of our property. Chris came out to find out what we wanted done, walked the property with us, and then sent a quote. When he started the project I expected that we would be seeing him for at least a week but he finished the job in 2 days!

And then he informed us that the total was several hundred dollars LESS than the quote. In all of recorded history I do not believe that a contractor hired to improve a property has ever said that. I'm pretty sure this is something I'll never experience again. Most importantly, it looks great and is exactly what we wanted. Chris was on time, polite, and professional. I hired these guys to replace about 60 feet of fencing. They were significantly lower in their estimate, and also seemed to be proposing higher quality materials. The fence design and material they proposed seemed to me to indicate a higher level of expertise with fencing than I saw in 3 other bids. They did the work the day after we agreed to proceed.

We just wanted to let everyone know that this company is GREAT! Just recently we were hit with the high winds here in San Diego. We were in urgent need of having our fence replace after the winds blew it down. We had called several other companies to see if we could get them to come right away since we have two dogs.
