Easy to work with for sure. Called and made my appointment, they showed up exactly as planned. They had to come fix something I broke, and didn't make me feel like a moron. Both guys were nice, competent and efficient. Costs were very reasonable given the work requested. These are my electricians now.

They installed a generator outlet for a backup generator I purchased. Fast, safe, good price. Will use again if I ever need an electrician.

They take two weeks to come out then cancel the appointment. Found a different company on yelp that came out same day for amazing price.

They seem really nice but I can't get them to do any work for me. They've been out to my house and said they'd get back to me. They did call eventually to say they'd call me the next week to start working on our project. Nope and that was months ago. They are nice though.

Had a small, non-urgent job (single can light + new outlet install) and these guys were efficient, skilled, easy to schedule and reasonably priced. Would definitely call again!

I didn't end up using them due to scheduling conflicts but they were super friendly, competent, and responsive.

Malco electric made me wait a month for my appointment for a backup generator estimate, which was fair as generators are in high demand. However, Jimmie, who was meant to show up on February 7th never showed up. I have attempted to contact him and never got a response.

Two months wasted. I assume this company does good work because I had to make an appointment a whole month out. Which made it even more frustrating when my appointment got cancelled. I've called back several times, to only get the run around and to never have my appointment rescheduled. Very dissapointed.

Malco Electric was fantastic. They were the 3rd quote I got related to installing a new hot tub and upgrading my electric panel and they were the only ones that did not try to overcharge me but at the same time told me all my options and scenarios so that I could make the best decision. They were also great through out the entire process. They were onetime and punctual and fast and efficient. I would definitely hire them again.

Above and Beyond Service Prompt and Extremely Professional Highly recommend and will use again My company had an emergency power outage due to some faulty wiring. Randy was here within 30 minutes and had the problem repaired so the business was able to function for the rest of the day, in turn saving the day. We were able to schedule a complete repair outside of my business hours. They were here on time and did an amazing job. I highly recommend them and will only be using Malco moving forward. It's nice to know companies like this still exist.

I used Malco Electric to install an interlock and hook up a generator. Throughout the whole process they were professional, timely, communicative and competitively priced. They even helped me navigate the added challenge of my circuit breaker not having the specific part available on the market with custom hardware fitted for me. Epitome of making things right. Tech came out and made a mistake, led to an issue the next day, but Cody came out late at night got our issue temporarily fixed and then stayed on top of it and had everything made right in less than 48 hours. I just sent Chris and Eliot out the door, and--as usual--they made life better while they were in my home. From Sherry who answers the phone to Chris or whoever comes out in the call, these people are running their business the way I wish everyone would. They have never let me down once in all the years I've used them, in three different homes. It's so unusual to place a service call and start feeling less stressed the minute I dial the number, but that's what happens when I dial Malco. Every time.

So impressed with Malco Electric. They are responsive, friendly, reasonable, kind, and their work is excellent. I felt like I was working with highly skilled people who cared about me. That is rare these days. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Bought a used house with an unusual electrical wiring system and no wiring diagrams. Chris Lee came out and very quickly diagnosed the entire listing of problems, determined what inoperative switches controlled obscure outlets, quickly made the proper changes and installed replacements for faulty parts. In this world where nobody seems to understand how things work anymore he is most impressive; and this being my 22nd house I've seen and dealt with a great many electricians. He was very informative in his explanations as he diagnosed the odd systems to allow me to make notes for future reference. I found my new go to guy.

We had Malco Electric out to the house to replace a faulty breaker, install two dimmers, and troubleshoot an outdoor plug. The company is busy, but was able to get us on the schedule and it was well worth the wait. I forgot to write down the name of the electricians that came out (sorry). However, they both were professional, did a neat job and cleaned up afterward.

We have a new grand baby and didn't want her to get exposed to the flu or any bugs.so both of the gentlemen wore mask while inside the house. This was very considerate and made us two very happy grandparents. The price was fair and we could not be happier. We would recommend this company and will have them out again when we have need of additional electrical services.

We called Malco Electric to replace our electrical panel after two separate recommendations from family and our realtor. We were impressed from the start when Randy, the owner, came out to our house to give an estimate - and the man is beyond gregarious. Unlike the other companies we called, Randy noted the need to ground the new panel. We were also anticipating a months-long wait time due to city permitting turnarounds but Randy also offered us an alternative to that - we had to move out for a couple weeks but are so grateful to Randy for thinking outside the box for us.

Once we decided to move forward with the work, Randy called me almost daily with updates from the city from the time the power was shut off until we got word that the work was approved and electricity would be turned back on. The day the work was done (yes, just one day for a full panel upgrade), Randy was out there with his guys getting his hands dirty. We appreciated the excellent work and the customer service and we plan to use Malco Electric for all our future electrical needs.

We had a weird issue with burnt plastic smells randomly showing up in the house and called Malco for help. They were extremely thorough and while checking for any issues they identified a handful of other problems (like incorrect fuses and a circuit that was mislabeled). We identified the source of the smell and were able to leave for a planned trip without the stress of wondering if the house was going to have an electrical fire. We really appreciated their professionalism and knowledge. I will definitely give them a call the next time I need an electrician.

Malcolm Electric's communication is exceptional amongst this great group of people! A lovely woman by the name of Shari answered the phone and listened to my problem! She was able to get her brother Randy to help me out and he was very knowledgeable in how to resolve my dilemma. I will be using them again! Thank you so much!

Chris and Elliot were great. Both were friendly and personable as well as being professional and thorough. They worked hard fixing an awkward problem (a dining room chandelier had pulled out of an 18 foot ceiling!)and went the extra mile making sure things were done well and to our satisfaction. Our AC, and the entire circuit it is on, went out on a Saturday night in the middle of the summer. Thinking it might be an issue with the circuit, I called Malco to schedule an emergency service for Sunday. Obviously this couldn't wait a day with it being in Austin in the summer and having a young family. Jimmy answered the phone and walked me through the problem, which ended up being an issue with the AC itself, not an electrical issue.

Over the phone on a Sunday morning at 7am he helped me diagnose the issue and told me how to solve it. He refused any form of payment even though I took about 15 minutes of his time on a Sunday morning. I am sure somebody this helpful and honest over the phone, after hours on a weekend, does great in-person work as well. I will be contacting them again for any future electrical needs I have.

I had a small job, a DIY gone wrong and I needed to call in the pros. I botched the electric wiring on a garbage disposal and created a tough problem. They slid me in pretty quick and everyone I dealt with was really nice and chill and helpful. And the price was more than fair I thought. 5 stars all the way!

Malco recently replaced the electric service panel in my 70 year old home. I had been having intermittent power fluctuations which the city of Austin determined wasn't on the line. Randy was able to assess the problem and the work was scheduled. There is quite a bit of coordinating to be done with the city - power cut off and then inspection of the work.

The city unfortunately fumbled on this, but Randy and his crew were professional and polite. The city finally came through and the work was done. Power! I will be calling them to add a couple of outlets and switch out a fixture. So good to have found a local small business! I recommend without hesitation.

I own a National Repairs and Maintenance Co and I work with over a 1000 sub contractor throughout the country. I can honestly say Malco Electric is one of the BEST! They get to every job I give them, never miss a scheduled appointment and always get the job done right the first time. You can't go wrong using Malco Electric, they are great!

These guys are wonderful and if you don't use them, you must have onion soup for brains. That pretty much sums it up. We got tired of waiting for Malco, so we hooked up with an electrician "based in Houston", who provided us with an amazing amount of misinformation. We ate some humble pie and called Randy. He found a way to fit us in and did the job quickly and perfectly.

Reasonable, honest, and fast. Very courteous and professional. Used this company since the 1980's and the high quality of the customer service and work performed is second to none. These folks have a large fleet and are very reliable and punctual. They clearly explain things and make accurate estimates. Can't recommend highly enough.

Very responsive, eager to help, and they did great work! I especially appreciated them explaining everything they were doing and letting me shadow them and pester them with questions! We will have these folks do all of the remaining electrical work on our remodel!

I was experiencing electrical issues with my pool equipment and my pool service company told me lead times were 8 weeks. Greg spent time on the phone understanding the problem. I bought 2 houses that both needed a major electrical overhaul (rewiring, new outlets, electrical box upgrades). Jimmy came out for initial inspection, and Cody Jemes was a total ROCK STAR electrician (did great work)! He helped me upgrade everything necessary for safety, and was super professional and helpful in explaining what/why the upgrades were needed. He works fast and was extremely thorough. Jimmie and Greg were so great to work with. Prompt, respectful, and best of all, did not try to talk me into unnecessary repairs/work. They were honest and saved me money. Finally found an electrician company that I will use all the time.

We called Malco a week ago to have a few outlets put in in our (1940s) home. Our wiring is older and difficult to deal with so we weren't sure what we were going to get but I'm so glad we called these guys. Chris showed up with a second electrician in tow (sorry friend, I forgot your name) and they were super efficient. They also did a great job explaining how our home's wiring is laid out and how we can best work with it in the future.

Our bathroom in particular did not have the proper wiring to install an outlet safely but they were able to go the extra mile and run things from elsewhere in the house. I honestly can't believe how quickly they worked, how clean the house is now that they're gone, and how inexpensive it all was. I'd have done this months ago if I'd known about them. I'm putting Chris on speed dial for any of my future projects.

In case anyone is concerned, they kept masks on the entire time, making sure that they had their noses covered entirely the entire time. They left every area that they touched cleaner than it was when they arrived.

I'm a first time customer, and couldn't be more pleased! Juan replaced a switch that has been problematic for years, very neatly enlarging the wall opening (through both sheetrock and hardwood) to accommodate a new plastic box, eliminating the old metal one. Courteous, super prompt, kept me informed, etc etc etc. And the price was right! Having a safer home is my holiday present to me and my family!

These guys are just fantastic. Called them towards the end of the day (3:30pm) and had someone at my door within 30 minutes. They fixed the problem ASAP (thermostat / furnace issue - not getting power), charged a totally fair rate and were just the kindest and most courteous electricians we've ever worked with. I'd recommend these gents in a heartbeat.

Apparently electricians are in very high demand in Austin! I called two other electricians before I found one who was able to help me connect my girlfriend's new WeMo light switch. The folks at Malco were very polite and managed to get someone out to my girlfriend's house quite quickly.

Highly recommend this company! They go above and beyond their job to make sure you are satisfied with their work and you probably would not find this quality priced work at a lower cost anywhere else. Give them a call it's well worth it!
