Douglas Contracting

Terrible experience. Beware. I suspect most of it was the result of the project manager, but Doug did very little (until I got a lawyer involved and still it was bare minimal) to make things right. 14 months later I'm still waiting for a CO on project that was estimated to be complete in 6-8 weeks. Update: Project finished in March 2020. Owner never completed a final walk through and had to settle for embarrassing/unprofessional workmanship just to be done. Will have to take up in civil court.

We used Douglas Contracting to add a substantial screened in porch with a fireplace to our home. Doug was recommended by my builder so I knew he must be knowledgeable and good. When I saw his work, I was so impressed by his attention to detail that I knew he was the right person for the job. The project went very smoothly, on time and within budget.

The thought of tearing our roof off and putting a second story on our house, naturally made us feel very apprehensive. Doug took the job and put us at ease. He did a quality job and stuck to the promised time frame and budget. We highly recommend him and his team.

After buying our older home in Cary, NC, we knew we wanted to update the functionality and flow of the home, but without losing the character that made us love it. After meeting with several contractors about our desire to open a wall between the kitchen and dining room, update the kitchen layout and finishings, and install hardwood floors we went with Douglas Contracting.

We went with them because we believed Doug and the project lead Mario were upfront, professional, and brought a lot of ideas to the table to make our vision even better. Along the way, Mario was in regular contact with us, took care of those little things that pop up along the way with a project like this, and gave us great advice with our decisions and supported them after they were made.

Not only that, I think our final costs came in within a couple hundred below the initial quote even though several value adds were included along the way due to cost savings by Mario. We couldn't recommend them more.
