We had a wonderful experience with this company; they were responsive, very easy to work with, and thoughtful. Most importantly their quality of work is top tier -- we couldn't be happier with our new deck. This team helped us problem solve challenges with our old decking layout and provided thoughtful solutions. We also felt like they treated our home like their own! We highly recommend Wight's if you need a new deck.

Wight Deck and Design just completed a gorgeous new deck for us using TimberTech material and we could not be happier with the results. It was quite a large expansion with a fair amount of complicated angles and transitions, and every last detail is to perfection. The crew was super professional, friendly, and very respectful of our household. At the end of every work day the job site was completely cleaned up as if no one had been there.

They arrived punctually every day, worked hard and competently, and we knew what to expect during each phase of the project. Equally important, the job was finished on budget and on time. Props to Thadd, Josiah, Rick and the rest of the crew!

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you and the entire crew for a great job. The deck is fantastic. We hosted friends for our daughter's birthday yesterday and received many complements. The workmanship is excellent and the process itself was great, too. We really appreciated that the crew showed up everyday until the job was done, that they were friendly, polite, and always left a clean jobsite. And thank you for the clear, frequent communication, and for responding quickly to any concerns we raised. All in all it was a great experience.

Our experience with Wight's Deck + Design was great. From our first e-mail, they were prompt and thorough. We got multiple bids and choose Wight's because they were honest, upfront about permits and restrictions with our property, and commitment to quality work. Our project was large, involving two decks with one being a hot tub deck. Other builders did not want to move or coordinate with electricians to hook up the tub. Wight's had no issue and took care of it for us which was amazing.

The whole building crew were great people. They kept us informed throughout the project and were polite and helpful. Our project did take a lot longer than initially planned due to COVID material supply problems, but I can't fault them for that. In the end our new decks are beautiful and well built. We would definitely recommend working with them!

We had a large deck and outdoor kitchen project installed and Thadd and his team were very responsive and thorough. The work turned out great! The project took a bit longer than expected, but every setback was communicated effectively. Many of the setbacks were out of their hands and they did a great job making up lost time and services. I was very impressed with the work they did and their communication along the way. The whole crew was very polite and courteous. I would highly recommend this team!

Start to finish, Thadd, Josiah, and their onsite crew made quick, professional work of my deck teardown and replacement. They listened to our needs, worked with us through our key decisions, stayed within our budget, provided material recommendations and designs that helped us visualize the finished project, and were communicative and responsive throughout the project.

Their onsite crew was fun, friendly, respectful, and their work was done quickly and with a high standard of quality, despite the rainy weather, muddy yard, and the previous deck's poor condition. They conferred with us when they needed to make small revisions to the project, checked in often to make sure we were happy, let us know what the expect through all the key phases, and were even really good pals for our three dogs, who still needed to romp in the yard while the work was ongoing.

The end result is a wonderful new deck that has added beauty and functionality to our backyard. If you're looking to build a new deck, or replace an old, weather worn deck like we were, I would definitely recommend giving Wight's Deck + Design a call. Great experience all around!

We hired Thadd first to rebuild our back deck two years ago. He was responsive and knowledgeable about the different decking types and also handled obtaining the required permit prior to starting work. He and his crew worked efficiently through rough weather. We had a couple problems with the railing product and two boards that needed an extra fastener but Thadd was great in coming out to fix the issues.

Recently we also hired him to replace our front porch deck to match the back and he quickly fit us into his schedule and also followed the necessary pandemic protocols. His crew is friendly and he stands by his work.

We initially hired another contractor to replace our back deck and build us a covered front porch. It was nightmare after nightmare (and that was before COVID-19) dealing with him. Finally I discovered that he hadn't even gotten the correct permits from the city and had not built to code or even using all the materials in our contract. He was so fired! Thadd and his crew helped make it all right, working with me and the city and an engineer to get all the boxes checked for permitting and code and safety.

We now have a new back deck that is beautiful and safe and an amazing covered front porch that we get nothing but compliments on. I wish I had known about Wight's Deck+Design when we were in the planning process. We look forward to working with them again on future projects. Cannot recommend them enough!

Thadd and his crew came and did a complete rebuild and update of my deck, including completely redoing the shape while using most of the existing structure, rebuilding the stairs, adding accent lights with dimmers, accenting with picture framing, and replacing the railing. The workmanship was excellent, and they did a good job of proactively reaching out to me for important decisions. Thadd had good design ideas and helped guide us when we weren't sure what would look best.

We added a few things as we went (accent lights, dimmers, picture framing, stair riser layout), and he was reasonable and professional when working out details of the final invoice. He was consistently responsive and helpful via email. Highly recommended.

I found Thadd to be a voice of reason on a rather confrontational message board about composite deck recommendations. I was considering a number of options and I reached out to Thadd via email for advice. I was building my deck three thousand miles away along the coast of Maine. I thought it a long shot that Thadd would reply to my many questions as there was no business opportunities in doing so.

But in fact, he was very gracious and generous in sharing very valuable advice drawing upon his considerable skills and many years of experience in designing and installing quality decking. His work speaks for itself. Had he been local, I would have very much welcomed the opportunity to work with Thadd.
