Best prices that I have found in town and always stocked with all that you will need for your summer swim season. Always friendly, even when I showed up just before closing and clearly these guys were tired from a long day. You could see it in there faces. I recommend Checker for all your pool supplies.

Save yourself some grief - don't even think about going anywhere else. I have had nothing but long waits, haphazard fixes and unrealistically high prices with several other pool supply shops over the past 15 years, but today I went to Checker for the first time and saw what friendly, knowledgeable professionals can do! A full line of parts on the shelf, not "available in three days".

Best prices - for example. the pump casing I needed was less than $100.00 - a competitor wanted $180.00, for exactly the same item. AND, they advised me not to buy a replacement for one pump component - the old one could be salvaged and reused, and they even took it apart and cleaned it up while I waited. And they made sure I left with everything I needed to do the job, right down to the seals and O-rings, and sound advice on how to go about it.

In a world where "nothing works and nobody cares", how great is that! Three hours later, I'm having a beer and listening to my pump run quietly and efficiently in the back yard. Thanks, guys - see you next time.

Brought my creepy crawley here, when everyone else said I had to buy a new one, they fixed it, the same with my pump motor.

Checker Pool and Pump Supply is family owned. There's only ONE Checker Pool and Pump. These guys really know there stuff! Between all of the employees they have several decades of knowledge all under one roof. They offer services such as rebuilding your pool/spa motor, and pool cleaner repairs/services. They also have new pool cleaners and swimming pool motors if you want to go that route.

If you live in their service area, they offer repair services (service charge fee applies) if you end up in a bind. They specialize in hard to find parts and can order stuff for you really quickly. They pretty much have all your swimming pool needs all in one place.

They have everything you need there. They are knowledgeable and will help you with free advice. No pressure on you to use their services. I took stuff back that wasn't needed and got a refund easily. The major thing I ever bought there was an AO Smith, 1.5 HP motor for my pump. I thought it was way pricy at almost $300, but I should have done my homework. Always check online to know your prices first, otherwise the pool stores will do a killing on you.

Checker is great at retail, if you're only picking up supplies. The minute you use them for service, you'll regret it. We had them replace our old sand filter about a year ago. We've had nothing but headaches with them since then. They didn't seal the pipes correctly and we constantly had leaks. They came out to fix the leaks, and had us replace the o-rings at the same time.

The leaks improved, but didn't disappear. Water sprayed everywhere when you first turned on the filter. Then, a few months later, the filter exploded and sand ended up everywhere. The warranty company came to replace the filter. After that, the leaks were back to how they were previously. I had to fill up the baskets with water each time I wanted to run the filter.

This was going on for a couple weeks, but then we had to go out of town for our wedding and honeymoon. We come back two weeks later, our pool is green because the filter wasn't running correctly for the entire two weeks we were gone. We called them and told them it's the same problem we've had since they originally replaced our filter. We never had these leaks before then.

They said they would send someone out to take a look. We specifically told them to not perform any work until they let us know what was wrong and if we'd have to pay or if it was their fault. Well, we get a call a couple hours later that we owe them for replacing pipes and resealing everything. They acknowledged that our instructions were to not do anything until speaking with us, but they decided to go ahead and do what they want.

Not only that, I went to run the filter when I got home, and what do you know, water sprayed everywhere when I turned it on. These people are a joke. After spending thousands of dollars with them in the last two years, I'm moving on to the big chain pool store that opened down the street. Good riddance.

Don't let the appearance fool you, this is a great Pool Store. The people who work here actually work on pools. Incredible amount of knowledge. Pricing is good as well. I took my water to Leslie's six or seven times with no results before I finally found Checker. It was clear within 3 days.

I love this place. My buddy John is very knowledgeable. He explained and taught me a lot about cleaning pools and the chemicals for pools. This place is Way better than Leslie's. I would highly recommend you come here if you have any questions about your pool and pool supplies.

This place won't lead you in the wrong direction. They're very honest and try to save you money. They never try to upsell you or sell you stuff you don't need.

Plus you can sit on one of the stools and joke around on slow days - The kind of place I remember going to with my Dad when I was a kid. I also used their referral for a new pool build and it worked out great. I drive right past Leslies on my way there every time, and never regret it.

I went in for help on my girlfriend's spa and the owner was very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately Tempe is out of their service area. When we did get the spa fixed we went back for a filter and other products.
