Asphalt roofing shingles are made from a fiberglass roofing felt mat which is saturated in asphalt and impregnated with ceramic granules to give the asphalt felts UV protection from degradation from exposure to the sun and elements. I hired them remotely (using home advisor) as the home that needed roofing is in Florida and I am in New Hampshire. Florida, unfortunately, has a lot of scamming contractors so I was a little nervous. Crown Roofing, LLC, was excellent. They could have told me I had to replace the whole roof and I would not have known the difference.
