Ridings Plumbing

I live in the neighborhood right next this company. The owner went out of his way to send any employee over to me while I was walking my dog in a vacant lot that I now know they are the owners of. The poor employee relayed a message from the owner that I was no longer allowed to walk my dog IN AN EMPTY LOT (i do carry bags and pick up after the dog) because someone else had illegally dumped trash there at some point.

Clearly I was only walking my dog since it is a nice spot away from the road were she can run around for a few minutes but they had the audacity to not only confront me but accuse me of being somehow responsible for the trash dumped there. I was considering having this company replace my entire plumbing system since they were down the street but after being accosted I found someone else.

I hope you're happy missing significant business. I'd like to change this review but will not until I recieve a direct apology from the owner. Don't worry, I have not and will not walk my dog in your precious empty lot anymore. I do hope whoever was responsible for the trash continues to dump it there because it's not being used for anything else other than an excuse for sniveling complaints.

Called with a plugged kitchen drain. Louis came out within 3 hours, and called first to let me know he was on his way so I could get home from work. Drain was clear within just a few minutes, and there was no mess. I also had the kitchen sink and dishwasher valves replaced as we had noticed lower pressure, and found that they had quite a bit of sediment built up. The cost was not a bad as I had feared. I was very pleased!

We were referred to Ridings through our contractor, and have since used them for years with great results. Ridings was very responsive. They sent out a service representative within 3 hours after contacting them. Our plumbing was quickly repaired. Their prices are reasonable.

Our puppy had serious knee surgery and after returning from the stressful trip we came home to find our kitchen full of water. Leaky Delta faucet. Contacted Ridings who we have so much confidence in and asked if Lou could come out. He fit us in during a full schedule day. Unfortunately a part was bad. He called multiple distributors in the area only to find out the part was not available.

We lived without a kitchen sink for almost 3 weeks due to Delta having to make/and ship part. Part arrived but did not work so again Lou searched the area. Finally found a part in Rockford and had it shipped overnight. Yesterday Lou fit us in again and we finally have our kitchen sink back. Lou has taken care of us numerous times and is always super in his service and customer friendliness. Ridings is very lucky to have him as an employee.

We were looking for a gas line to be installed from our meter to the pool deck heater and this company was very easy to communicate with and they were very flexible from the beginning. They even moved up their work date/time to adjust with Ameren's earlier date, which helped us finished the installation on time! Highly recommend this company!

I recently moved to a new home and the water heater was not keeping up with our hot water needs. I called Ridings to have the water heater replaced. Their technician showed up on time and looked at our current water heater. He thought it looked fairly new, so he called the manufacturer and found out it was still under warranty. He replaced the malfunctioning parts and all we had to pay for was labor.

They easily could have replaced the whole thing and made more money, but instead they did the right thing for the customer, saving me over $1000 in the process. I will use them for all my future plumbing needs.

I needed my garbage disposal replaced, had a clogged pipe causing water to back up in my dishwasher then the floor.i didn't know who to call and got lucky.the receptionist sent Lou out and he fixed everything to my satisfaction. Called before he came out.will be using them for all my plumbing needs. Thank u for great service!

Louis came out and fixed our kitchen sink, he was fast, friendly and professional. Another company said they wouldn't be able to get to us until the next week and they were able to send someone out the very afternoon I called! Thank you Louis!

What a great company! I've called Ridings for multiple jobs ranging from fixing my garbage disposal, replacing the innards of 3 toilets and replacing my water heater. I worked with the polite and knowledgeable office staff, and technicians Jimmy and Lou who know their business well, were professional, efficient and super nice guys (even funny when the moment was right). Extremely unhelpful. Had a plumbing emergency, they took my number and said they would call me right back. 30 minutes later, I had to call them to see if they had the time to help or even call me back. This was a plumbing EMERGENCY! Just for them to tell me they wouldn't have time for me today. Seriously, if someone calls with an emergency, let them know immediately if you can help or not.

We had them out to give us a quote on a project and they never got back to us with a price. We called 3 different times over the course of a month asking why we hadn't gotten it and each time they said they would get it to us asap. It has been 3 months now and still no quote. Obviously we chose a different company and will never recommend ridings again. Additionally, when they came out to my house to take information for the estimate I asked if they used the existing copper piping or got new for the job.

They said they use new piping. Ok, so I asked what they do with the old piping they are removing because I was planning on selling it for scrap since it is worth a decent amount of money. They said they would have to take it and dispose of it. Ok, fine. So would I get a discount off of the total? The guy told me no they don't do that. I asked why. He literally said "the money we get from selling it as scrap usually goes to fund our Christmas party.".Seriously?!

Had a bathroom tub faucet that wouldn't shut off. Ridings fit us into their busy schedule and got the problem take care of quickly and efficiently. Randy was very friendly and knowledgeable. He saw and addressed a few other plumbing issues in our home and the bill was still under what we had expected to pay. Great company and would absolutely recommend.

My business, All Pro Floor Care, Inc., recently moved to a new building. After moving in, we discovered that the garbage disposal in the kitchenette did not work. In fact, it did not even have an on/off switch!

In fact, it did not even have an on/off switch! This caused water to back up when we used our sink. We called Ridings Plumbing and they came out that same day to access our situation. Their recommendation was to replace the garbage disposal, which we decided to do. Lou called our office early the next business day to advised that he was on his way to our office to replace the garbage disposal.

When he arrived, my Office Manager was not sure what needed to be done, so Lou called his office to verify the work order. He determined that he would need to install an on/off switch along with the new garbage disposal; and he not only left to get us a switch, he matched it to the fixtures on the sink! Lou returned quickly, and installed our new garbage disposal and the switch.

The work was completed promptly and accurately. When he was done, Lou showed us what he had done, and explained how to trouble shoot common garbage disposal issues. He also cleaned up after himself so that the kitchen was a clean when he left as it was when he arrived. Throughout the process, Lou was pleasant and professional. We are very pleased with our new equipment, and even more pleased with the service we received from Lou and Ridings Plumbing.

I had a leaky pipe in my basement. Had never had to call a plumber before, so I didn't know what to expect. A very nice young man came over and fixed the problem very quickly, and for much less than I thought the job would cost. To say I am pleased is an understatement. I will definitely use Ridings Plumbing if I ever need a plumber again!

I called them at 9 am on a Monday and they had someone at the house within 90 minutes. My house is old and my pipes are a mess but they worked very hard to find the least expensive option. Their solution cost 1/3 of what Mike Williams proposed. They were polite and very careful. Although they told me that my sidewalk might be destroyed they managed to work around it and they also worked from the alley so my fence was not destroyed. And, most important to me, they were respectful of my cat, who was buried where they worked. They put him aside and reburied him later. It was a little thing that meant the world to me.
