Over the past 30 years, Casteel Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical has been one of the most respected names in metro Atlanta for heating and air conditioning. Bob Casteel developed this trust and reputation by providing world class service, offering high quality products at affordable prices and backing his work up with exceptional warranties.
Before all the trucks, the employees, and the reputation, Bob and Janis Casteel worked tirelessly to create a customer focused company. In 1987, they started the company with one small red service truck, an office and workshop in the basement of their home, and an advertising budget that included handing out business cards to neighbors.

Thermostats
Report
Your thermostat may be small in size and often overlooked, but it serves a great purpose in keeping your home's temperature and humidity catered to your comfort. You can consider it the mind behind the mechanics. Its main purpose is to read the temperature in the room and turn on/off the HVAC system accordingly to reach the preset temperatures.
Air Quality
Report
While some exposure to pollution is out of our control, preventing others is fully within our reach. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that the inside of an average home is five times more polluted than the air outside. Most people spend 90% of their day inside, either in the home, work or vehicle.
Heat Pumps
Report
Georgia is considered to be a region with milder winters and hot summers - making this a prime area for the use of a heat pump as a heating and cooling source. While we may feel that our winters are not so mild, the way our heating and cooling systems function during the different times of year is a key indicator of system preferences.
Gas Furnaces
Report
A gas furnace is an efficient and effective way to heat your home that uses natural gas or propane as the fuel to generate heat. As the most common heating source in the south, gas furnaces may be a good option for your heating needs. Many prefer the warm and cozy heat emitted by a gas furnace compared to its electric counterpart.
Heating
Report
Years ago, every home was equipped with a fireplace as the main sources of heating. Gone are the days filled with chopping wood to provide heat in your home. We have the luxury of heating systems that cycle on and off to keep our homes cozy and warm, at the touch of a button. When the temperatures drop, we now rely on our furnace or heat pump to keep our homes at a comfortable level.

Michael was Extremely courteous and very polite. His vast knowledge was a huge help for me and my wife. I was looking for a Reputable company that I can be a lifetime member with and by the way Michael conducted his self I believe I have found that company. I would highly recommend Casteel based on my initial appointment with Michael. He represents that company well and I hope they realize what an asset he is to the company.

Casteel prides themselves and even has their tag line that reads: "We will take amazing care of you". We have been a loyal customer for quit a few years now. We scheduled a PM service a week ago. Because they are busy with more profitable "emergency services", they gave us a 24 hour notice that we needed to schedule. Nevermind that we have been a customer and schedule regular PM services to avoid "emergency requests".
But I understand that we are NOT the most profitable for them at this point so they call/email the day before to tell us we need to reschedule. Nope! I'll take my business elsewhere. Thank you for considering the loyal customers you have!

We had Casteel out in June 2022 to fix our 4 ton Goodman (R22) unit. The tech said that the compressor was blown and the entire system would have to be replaced because they can't get parts for R22 systems anymore. Later in the day, a Casteel sales rep arrived to provide a replacement quote. We have done quite a bit of research as to how much a single HVAC system should cost to replace.
Most systems cost between $7,000 and $12,000 but we were quoted a price of $21,000. We were beyond shocked. Having experience in electrical and mechanical repairs, I did some troubleshooting on my own. I found out that the capacitor had gone bad and I bought a new replacement from Grainger for less than $20. Our system works like a champ now. It really makes me wonder about a company that markets themselves as being a Christian-based company and using marketing slogans such as "We'll take AMAZING care of you" when they won't replace a basic part and try to rake a desperate household by charging them $21,000 for an HVAC system when it's 100° outside. That doesn't sound very Christian to me.

Our technician Tristan was awesome! He was patient, professional, kind, and really explained the issue and the solution in a way that made sense. I'm a mom of 5 and really appreciated his understanding as everyone was vying for my attention and kept interrupting when he was on site. He worked efficiently and even vacuumed debris that fell from the ladder to the attic. We're very satisfied with Casteel! Everyone including the lady that help me schedule our service visit we're incredible.

My hot water heater stopped working and Casteel sent someone out within 2 hours of my call. The plumber, (Travis) I think was his name was, listened intently of the issue I was experiencing, gave some input about the heater based on his experience, did some research and got it back working within an hour. Everything was left clean and tidy. He was super polite and efficient. Couldn't be any happier with the service and will continue to use Casteel for all heating/cooling/plumbing needs.

Before I say anything about my latest experience, I want to share that I purchased a new HVAC system from Casteel a little over a year ago, and I feel like I got a good deal, and everyone I dealt with was professional and very competent. Shortly thereafter, I moved, and when the A/C in my new home stopped working, I gave Casteel a call to assess what was going on.
The service tech they sent didn't check to see if/why it was leaking but told me it was 2.5 - 3 lbs low on R-22 (cost to recharge: $349/lb) -- because of the age of the system and the high price of repair, it was advised that I replace the unit. I ended up getting a second opinion from a smaller company, and after not detecting any leaks, they only charged me $90/lb for the same refrigerant (and it was only 1.75 lbs low).
I understand that the refrigerant for older systems like mine is no longer being made, which has driven up costs, but the price point Casteel is charging would push anyone considering repair vs. replacement to believe repair is excessively costly. Be aware also that they've tacked a $20 fuel surcharge onto their service visit fee -- unless they're driving from 60+ miles away every time, this seems exorbitant, especially when you consider that ride share service fuel surcharge fees are $0.40 per trip.
This is a relatively minor thing, but both the scheduler AND the service tech referenced my husband multiple times ("does your husband have a cell we can use as an alternate contact?" "so your husband turned the system off yesterday?" "your husband isn't going to be happy about this news") -- I've been happily unmarried for about 5 years now. It was a weird and mildly insulting assumption to make.
If it had happened once, I would have brushed it off, but the implication seemed to be that a single woman can't own a home. My suggestion to Casteel would be to avoid making sexist assumptions about their customers.

Technician was timely, and professional. Eric listened to my concerns and addressed them with complete understandable responses. He respected my home as if it were his own. I've been using Casteel for HVAC service for a while now and I'm always generally happy with the outcome but this was probably the best experience I've had to date.

We have been longtime customers of Casteel in huge part because of their employees. We recently had our service visit and learned that we were in need of either an expensive repair or a new system. Clint Fields came out and was incredibly helpful in making sure we knew all our options and that we got the best system within our budget. It was less than 24 hours between estimate to having our system fully installed. The team that came out to do the install was equally professional and thorough.

This company is amazing! My furnace stopped working in the middle of the night. I called Casteel HVAC and they arrived within 4 hours. Michael Frye was extremely professional and personable. Thank you so much for fixing my furnace so quickly. You will definitely be my first call moving forward. Thanks again.
