Bobco Plumbing was created by Bob Hutter in the summer of 1978. Even before that time, Bob worked hard for other plumbers during the day, gaining knowledge and experience. At night, Bob would study for his state contactors license.
Upon successfully passing his state exam, Bob became a licensed plumbing contractor and was assigned the Contactors License number of 799390, which by today's standards is a very low number, meaning we have been around for a long time.more than 36 years to be precise! Over the years, Bob continued his education and knowledge about the ever increasing technical aspects of modern plumbing systems, always willing to invest in the future.

NEVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN! We called Bobco to unplug a toilet. After a few minutes with a trap snake their plumber told us the trouble was with the toilet and that it needed to be replaced. We didn't believe we had to replace a 2 year old, quality Toto toilet so we called the plumber our neighbor uses. We were right - where the dumbfounded Bobco plumber failed the second plumber, using the exact same trap snake, cleared the trouble. We've called and emailed Bobco over the past week asking for a refund of the $85 worthless service call.
They failed to respond to our request for a refund. We finally accepted that we were ripped off and needed to warn others. DON'T LET BOBCO DO THIS TO YOU. HIRE ANYONE ELSE.

I am very disappointed in Bobco's service. After claiming the clogging issue was resolved and that all pipes are clear the whole house smelled like a sewer for days and the clogging appeared in a different location. I tried talking to the owner because the charge was outrageous but he refused to admit the problem.

I've used all types of construction, maintenance, and plumbing services for many years as an LA homeowner. The one that I used most, and stayed almost-completely loyal to is Bobco Plumbing. No matter what the problem was, they always tried to find me the best value solution. Even when the problem was dire (sewage issue), they found an elegant solution (an extra cleaning drain).

Such a bad experience. Came hours late after three calls with their promises they'd be there right away. Misdiagnosed. Told me the faucet could not be repaired. Must be replaced. I called place I bought faucet. They sent me the part for free. This is my second negative with them. And of course the last time I'll call them

My husband and I had a very bad experience with Bobco. We used their service two years ago to do the plumbing for a new shower in our condo at Lakeside. Two years later, the tile is crumbling and the shower is leaking and it is costing us $7,000 to redo the whole thing. Albert refused to redo the work or give us a discount even though he admitted that it had been done incorrectly the first time.
He wouldn't return phone calls and was rude when we confronted him. He said that the company is under new ownership and he has no responsibility for the work. Please don't use this company!

Worst experience ever. I was out of town and offline when sewer backed up, my wife reached out to our neighbor and was referred to Bobco plumbing who came out and said they would clear the main sewer line. My wife did not ask about the price as I normally handle these matters, by law they are required to give a written estimate before starting the work.
The sewer line got cleared and then they managed to get a hold of me. I asked how much they were charging and they came up with the total ripoff price of $275. I told them no way for 10 mins of work, they also tried to sell me a camera viewing of the root problem. After haggling back and forth they said they would take $175 which is still a total ripoff for 10 mins of work.
I actually have a machine and clear the sewer myself whenever it clogs up. When I got back I called twice to speak to Albert who is the owner but he has not called me back. coward and thief that he is!

I called Bobco plumbing after dealing with about a dozen plumbers over the past month and not being satisfied with any of them. Bob was very responsive and helpful on the phone, and when I had to cancel my initial appointment since I went with a different plumber, he even called me a few days later to check in to see if I got everything fixed ok.

I called them to replace a sink faucet. They quoted $275. I have personally replaced 3 of these exact faucets myself already, but I didn't have time to do this one so I thought I would splurge. (I manage apts and we could never justify that much to change a faucet! We pay less than half that) The plumber that comes isn't the one you talk to on the phone.
They must have several crews that do the actual work. They used a sawzall (power hacksaw) to cut the old stems off. The vibration from the sawzall shook the house and cracked the porcelian sink. This is an undermount custom tiled in sink and now the entire countertop has to be replaced. I know it takes longer to unscrew the old faucet, but they are all about speed and money.
If it had been done right, (and it isn't hard to unscrew an old stem) the entire vanity wouldn't have to be replaced. I paid them $275 to change a faucet and they destroyed the bathroom. Residential plumbing companies likes this one are one stop rip off artists. They know you won't need them again for 10 years so they charge crazy money and don't expect repeat business.
They have you in an emergency situation and they take advantage. Find out if the plumber you talk to is the one doing the work, unlike this place. (I don't even think Bob is around anymore)

After an absolutely hideous time with another company (see my negative review {among 24 for others!} for Rapid Plumbing and Heating) my electrician advised me to call this company. They came out within an hour and fixed the problem with our in-floor gravity heater (previously Rapid came out once - told me they had to get an expensive part and that possibly we would need to replace the entire heating unit - over two days and numerous phone calls - initiated by me - no one ever called back or came back to fix it!). I own rental units (5) plus our single family home and I will always recommend using this company, Jose was excellent - ask for him!

They charge $99 to come take a look at my fireplace for less than 15 mins! I wish I read out the other reviews before I call them. They are contracted to came to change the pipe for my fireplace and I paid $70. Two weeks later, the fire place couldn't turn on anymore so I called Bob and asked him. He said it shouldn't be the pipe that is the problem, maybe it is the valve or the switch.
So I asked him how much it would cost and he said depends on where the problem is and he wouldn't know until he knows where the problem is. His guy came, who is very friendly and helpful, said he is not sure where the problem is, maybe its the valve or the switch or a piece of rock get stuck in the gas line. He hit the fireplace a few times and it started to work.
I asked him how much would the valve, pilot light and switch cost, he said $620. So I told him I will think about it. Then he said the service charge is $99! To my surprise, I was shocked and could not believe it cost $99 for them to come take a look. I called Bob and told him he wasn't being clear when I asked him how much it would cost, he never mentioned the service charge would be $99 if I don't change the valve through him. We negotiate and he discounted to $70. I will not call Bobco for service again and please stop sending flyer to my house. Thanks.

My upstairs neighbor had been out of town for several days and seemed to have left his shower on. After not being able to get in touch with my neighbor and seeing bubbles start to form in my ceiling paint, I made a panicked call to Bobco Plumbing on a Saturday afternoon. I knew that shutting off the waterline would be a quick and easy job but I had no idea where to start when faced with the maze of pipes in the garage of my building. Bob was understanding and said he would be at my Palms building in 30 minutes. Well, 20 minutes later, help had arrived! Bob quickly located the problem, shutoff the valve, and showed me how to turn it back on. Best of all, Bob didn't charge me for the visit. I will definitely be using Bobco for all of my future plumbing needs and recommending Bobco to my condo association.

Bob was very responsive and helpful on the phone, and when I had to cancel my initial appointment since I went with a different plumber, he even called me a few days later to check in to see if I got everything fixed ok. As it turned out, the last plumber didn't fix my leak properly so I gave Bobco a chance. Carlos came out that day and I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. He fixed the leak perfectly and also had some good suggestions for my condo building water filter, so we may be using his services again!

They charge $100/hr. (My Plumbing Doctor only charges $80/hr and is way higher rated on Yelp.) The plumber Daniel was nice and did a fine job. But he told me he was charging me for travel time for a total of 2 hours even though he was working in my house for about 1 1/2 hours. We went back and forth on that with me saying that I had never heard of a plumber or electrician or someone like that charging for travel time.
He maintained that was standard for them. That was 3:40pm. I called their office to ask about that and left a voicemail after he left at 3:50pm. The owner Bob called me the next day and said that I was not charged for travel time but that he had a GPS readout that said the plumber was here for two hours. I was trying to explain that I don't know why he had two hours when he wasn't in my unit for 2 hours.
He kept saying he had the GPS report that said two hours. After several rounds of this he said he could give me back the $50 but that I was cheating him out of that money. I told him he could keep the money but that I would never be using him again and writing up my experience on Yelp. He then left me a voicemail saying that he would sue me for libel if I didn't represent the facts on Yelp. That's an awesome way to do business, Bobco especially since I'm a first-time customer.
This is the worst experience I have ever had with someone we've hired to do work around our house. I have never been treated like this before. Definitely won't be using them again.

I live in Lakeside Village and Bobco was the go-to plumber from the office. Carlos knocked on my door and did an excellent job. The shower knob has been stripped and it will not shut off. He gave me instructions to manually shut it until he was able to find parts. He was true to his word, prompt and gave me a quote over the phone. He replaced it and even did extra work for me as I reported leak on my kitchen sink.
He could have charged me extra for it but did not. He was also feeling under the weather but still worked on my place. I paid $250+ and that included the part and labor. It might be slightly higher than other plumbers may quote but excellent service in this town can be a price to pay. I recommend Carlos for his good work ethic and great plumbing skills.

Unfortunately I did not have a very good experience with Bobco Plumbing Company. I called and asked for help and was referred to Bobco. The plumber did come out the same day, however I was charge $ 125.00 for him to tighten bolts on toilet in master bathroom and to fix leak under my new kitchen cabinets. Apparently he couldn't find the leak and left.
I had water damage for four more months, come to find out there was nothing holding the pipe under my sink in the kitchen. Why couldn't the plumber find it the leak? I had some one else tell me that it was leaking and need caulking and plumbing tape to adhere the pipe. I got ripoff! So I asked Bobco to please make this right and gave them an opportunity to correct the wrong!
Well I guess they just don't have ethics and ignored me. I see them all the time working at Lakeside Village. I would never recommend them to anyone! FAIR WARNING! BEWARE! gs :

The few times I used someone else, in my early days owning a home, I regretted it -- the plumbers looked at me and said "sucker!" so tried to overcharge. In fact, the one time they succeeded, Bobco had to redo their work. Difference between the two: the plumber that installed the shoddy work charged me $650; Bobco charged me $109. All parts THE OTHER did had to be replaced.
I am now moving far away, and am sad to lose a company that has treated me so well for so long. They are excellent at what they do and honest -- and they always think of ways to help the customer.
