Water Heaters
Report
There are so many different factors that go into choosing the right water heater for you. Obviously, we are all focused on efficiency and effectiveness. There are also considerations like how much space they take up, and how long you have to wait for your hot water. One of our plumbers would be more than happy to sit down with you and go over the pros and cons of the different styles.
Plumbing Repair
Report
We are available day or night for plumbing repair jobs. Whether it's something as major as your toilet overflowing into the hallway or a smaller kitchen faucet repair, our team of professional plumbers will get it fixed and cleaned up before you know it. We don't want a plumbing issue to cause you any more stress than it has to.
Gas Line
Report
If you are smelling gas - it smells like rotten eggs - stop reading right now and get out of the house. After you are out of the house, and not before, call emergency services. If there is enough gas that you can smell it there is a danger of a fire. You certainly do not want to take a chance on carbon monoxide poisoning, either.
Water Line
Report
The water line to your home was almost certainly installed at the same time the house was built. Over the years, there have been a lot of changes in the quality of pipes. Let's face it, there's a good chance that the pipes under your lawn running out to the main are not in the best condition. As a plumber, we hope that you come to us before any major problems occur.
Drain Cleaning
Report
Have your drains been getting slower and slower over time? Do you find yourself standing in water when you take a shower? Maybe the tub takes forever to empty after the babies take their evening wash. Whatever the case is, you have probably tried a chemical drain cleaner and did not get the results you were hoping for. That will not happen with the drain cleaning service we provide.

In January of 2021, Dale Plumbing replaced a gas valve in our fireplace. Since it was replaced, we used the fireplace a few times in January and February. As expected, the we did not use it all trough spring, summer and fall. In November, we turned it on and it did not work. I called Dale Plumbing and they said their "fireplace guy" only works on Fridays and the next appointment was January 14, 2022.
It wasn't a big deal because although it is a nice to have, it is definitively not a necessity. Today, the same workman that was here last January showed up and said the problem was a loose wire connection. Further, the bill was $175 for the time it took him to determine the wire had come loose. I called the office to make my case that the fireplace had been used only a few times since they installed the gas valve and that it was not normal wear and tear because the problem was actually a loose wire connection due to shoddy workmanship.
The woman in the office asked, "Where you there when the replaced the valve last January?" And I told her I was. Then she asked, "Was it working when the workmen finished the job?" At that point, I gave up and told her to send me that invoice and I would pay it. As you can see from my profile that I submit very very few reviews. and that I am not someone who complains about my latte not having enough vanilla. So I will pay to have them repair their own shoddy work

We hired Dale to do the plumbing for our ADU garage conversion. They scheduled quickly, made connections from house to the ADU, with plumbing for the kitchen, dishwasher, bath, shower, washing machine. The garage was concrete block walls and they plumbed from the outside, sealed it up, etc. Price and communication good -- Except for my part. We wanted a tankless electric water heater.
I didn't really specify that and they installed a 40 gallon tank. My mistake. But they swapped it out for the unit we wanted at no extra cost. James and crew were easy to work with and gave us real confidence the ADU has been done right.

FRAUD AND DECEPTIVE BILLING PRACTICES. BE AWARE! Invoice was given without any hours of work. Before giving them your CC please check calculations on an invoice. Mark plumber charges extra hour without any explanation. Any contact with the company after a charge dispute had no result. Very negative experience! Highly NO RECOMMENDED.

I can't say it enough. Dale Plumbing is awesome! Nobody likes having to wait for a plumber especially since these clogs seem to happen at the most inconvenient time. I have called Dale Plumbing several times and they have always managed to get me in the queue for service the same day-usually within a few hours. Today, Bob was thorough, professional, and helped with some suggestions for general maintenance of our pipes to avoid such issues. Thanks Bob! Reasonable prices - even on 24 hour emergency time. Always been able to get in queue for Same day.

I am so upset with Dale plumbing. We wanted to get our wood fireplace converted to gas. We had Dale plumbing come out to give us an estimate. We received a contract from Dale, approved it, signed the contract and agreed on a date. This morning, the day before they were supposed to come over I received a phone call from Dale informing us that there had been a mistake and that the costs are $1000 higher than the signed contract listed.
Can they do this? Isn't a signed contract legally binding? I offered to split the difference but there was no negotiating possible. I am still in shock. if this is how they treat their customers, I would think twice before contacting them. We had to do a lot of prep work and now we can start all over again, just before the holidays! Not a good day for me!

This is one of those reviews I wish I didn't have to write, but feel I have to so that others don't have to endure the same torture that we went through for literally 4 months. There are a couple people that work here that are nice and I want to believe truly good people, but that can't save the fact that at the end of the day the company does poor quality work and has terrible customer service.
Please believe the other 1 star reviews as we had a similar unbelievably terrible experience. For instance, attached is a photo of how they installed our tankless water heater. The inspector took a photo for proof as he was shocked that they hooked it up with plumbers tape (not even electrical tape), failed to directly connect it from the outlet to the unit and left it like that for 6 weeks until the inspector showed up and required it to be fixed.
Not to mention Dale Plumbing plugged the unit into an existing extension cord (which we had for a completely separate purpose) and again left it like that without notifying us. Of course the inspector failed us for it as it needed a dedicated outlet. Instead of just taking the blame and owning up to it, Dale Plumbing instead put it back on us saying they told us during the estimate that a dedicated outlet was required and it was up to us to have one installed.
Complete and utter lie. Had we known we needed to do ANY electrical work we would have kept the water heater in the garage, where it was originally. It was Dale Plumbing's idea to move it to the back of the house and we went along with it as it seemed like a good idea at the time. Instead, I ended up having to go to the city twice to pull a homeowners permit for the electrical outlet and both times they urged me to have Dale Plumbing pull the permits instead.
Of course Dale Plumbing refused and we had some unfortunate conversations which ended up with the manager (owner?) hanging up on me. Given some of the other mentions of small claims court, it's not at all surprising that they don't care how they treat their customers. After literally weeks of hounding them, the office staff acquiesced and ended up helping to resolve the project by finding an electrician to do the work that they failed inspection on. Sigh.
Every time that I wait for 3 minutes before I get hot water I think of this company that still hasn't fixed what they installed. I'll never get the hours upon hours of my life back that I spent dealing with Dale Plumbing and I urge you to save yourself the time and agony and look elsewhere.

Holy Smokes wish we had read these reviews Apparently the 5 stars are for the one competent guy on the team or it's entirely New project No ability otherwise They INSTRUCTED my ELDERLY parents TO order a part AFTER Charging them 300 bucks to take something apart that wasn't broken only needed rescrewing. Then expected to come back and put in an unneeded part A friend fixed problem in seconds only to discover the first part was NOT broken! Ugh! Shame on them! I COULD LIST THE PLUMBER NAME IF THE COMPANY WANTS TO KNOW WHO IS OUT THERE LYING OR NOT TRAINED. FEEL FREE TOREACH OUT

Just received my judgement from the San Mateo Small Claims court today against Dale Plumbing Inc. They didn't even bother to show up to court to protect their reputation. This company is a joke! Don't make the same mistake I made. You have a gas fireplace problem? Call Warm Solutions in South San Francisco. They came and fixed the issue for half the price.

Hi All! Just thought I'd post because I am extremely happy with the customer service with Dale's Plumbing - Mark. He fixed our toilet issue super quick, was cost conscious, and knew exactly what he was doing. I've had some very bad experiences with other plumbing companies especially Roto Rooter, where they cancel, are late, and even misdiagnosed plumbing issues where it cost us more money then it should have. I'm really glad to have found a company that I can trust. Plus they are local :

Terrible business, incompetent and unethical. I called them in February 2018 about my 3-yr new gas place flame would go off by itself. They sent technicians twice and charged me $558, did no work, then declared my fireplace not repairable and they can help me replace with a new one. After much arguing back and forth, they finally agreed that if anyone can repair the impossible job, they will be happy to refund my money. Well, after much searching and a long wait for an appointment, my fireplace has been fixed by Fireplace Element in Mountain View.
All it needed was a simple pilot rebuilt that took 40 mins and $250. Dale Plumbing refuse to acknowledge repair work done by FE; and of course, refuse to give me back the $558 they charged but did zero work for. Don't bother yourself with this place if your fireplace ever need repair work. You will be disappointed plus burn a hole in your wallet. Just check out their other reviews on Yelp to verify my claim.

I called Dale plumbing out to look at our two gas fireplaces. James from Dale Plumbing showed up and was great! He looked over both fireplaces (I was worried about smelling gas). He did a great job explaining how the gar fireplaces worked, and he debunked what I read online that they need to be serviced annually. He explained what I need to look for if something were to break. Both my fireplaces are apparently in great condition. The peace of mind that I had both checked was totally worth the $! THanks!

We had Dale Plumping and Heating come out to work on our gas fireplace in December. They seemed to fix it and were very friendly. However, as they were leaving I pointed out that one of the flames was weak. He agreed that it didn't look normal, looked into it, and then told me that a part was likely defective and we needed to replace it. He said he would call first thing the next morning to get the part, call us right after for an update, and come by as soon as he got the part to fix it-- even if it was a weekend.
They charged us about $260 for this visit. Two days later, we hadn't heard from him so we called Dale. The woman we spoke to seemed annoyed and inconvenienced because she didn't know anything about the matter. We didn't hear back until the next day. Eventually the part arrived a week later so we called to schedule for him to replace it.
We were told they couldn't get us in for another 2-3 weeks. So much for the "I will come by as soon as I get the part even if it's a weekend" statement. When they arrived a few weeks later, they stayed about 1.5 hours and charged us another $300. We noticed immediately after that it smelled a bit like gas. We were so exasperated by the whole ordeal that we sort of just ignored it as it wasn't that strong of a smell. Then, a month later, we went on vacation and all the windows and doors were obviously left shut.
We came back, entered the house, and the smell of gas was overwhelming. Clearly there was an actual leak. We called Dale and asked about their guarantee-- they said we were just outside the window for their 30-day guarantee so they would not look at it for free. At this point, we weren't going to pay Dale another $300 to fix something that they did not properly fix the first time, so we asked our handyman to take a look since he is familiar with heaters, although he has never fixed a fireplace.
Within about five minutes, he was able to locate the gas leak and discover that two parts had not been attached correctly by Dale and needed to be replaced. He went to Home Depot, bought the part, and fixed it by that afternoon for about $50 total. He doesn't even work on fireplaces and he was appalled that Dale left us with a substantial gas leak and broken part.
So all in all, we spend close to $600 for Dale to come over, not fix it correctly and have me point it out, re-do what they did for a higher charge than the first time, and then leave us with a gas leak and broken fireplace.
