I had got my carpet done from them. They installed it. Carpet had so many spot where the thread is coming out and poor installation. I contact them and sent pictures no response. I also have proof of message and him not replying to any calls. Very unprofessional and did not take up any ownership or man of his word. Horrible experience. I tried very hard for him have a chance to fix the issue and he never did.

Before cutting out the carpet it should have been inspected before being stapled. Instead you gave us the bad batch so you can make the money. I'm absolute angry about how many times I reached out and no one cared. I contacted them and I get a communication of we will contact manufacturer. Why? You gave me a carpet where threads are popping out and not installed correctly. Why not come and fix it? Extremely unprofessional and no client relationships.

I've done business with them twice. One with my custom blinds. The other I had some areas of my floor done. Overall, good company, there nice people, and try to be fair in their pricing. I'll do business with them again.

Consumer Carpets did a great job installing Carpet in my apartment. They are very professional and detailed oriented. I dealt with Nelson who had someone come out and measure and 2 weeks later I had a installation date. The installers wore a mask the entire time. They also stretched carpet in two other bedrooms that buckled from another carpet company named "Amazing Carpet"in Ridgefield who are anything but Amazing, They stretched the carpet perfectly and trimmed the edges as well, they did it All. Kudos to Nelson & his crew for a job well done. Mike K

I'm so furious I don't want to give them even half a star! They did a very bad job on our floor and basically just told us nothing can be changed ( without even trying anything). They could've informed us in advance how the color would look on different types of woods. They didn't and communication was horrible. The worst part! They supposed to put our key back to the mail box when they finished their job ( the guys always came in late by the way and every day different people) but instead the company took the key and mail it to us!

And the key got lost! The worst worst is the manager doesn't want to take any responsibilities but keep " she said he said" and now just chose to stop responding he couldn't even give us a legitimate proof the key was sent! Now at this difficult time because of the virus we have to change all the locks because of their mistake and they are not reliable and responsible at all!

Very reasonably priced and very responsive - they came and measured within a day and, after picking a carpet already in stock, got it installed the next morning. No fuss, no hard sells and the price was lower than other quotes I got - overall very pleasant experience & would definitely go with them in future.

I refuse to give a star. They put down my carpet with a year warranty. I reached out well under the year because the carpet in my home wore totally out. The padding is inferior and it's coming up in the corners. No one ever called back when I did get in touch they promised to come our and never did:DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I had a large room of linoleum installed after I removed old flooring. Installers knocked work out asap. The hole experience was quick, I pick out material, they measured and installed. Everything went smooth.

Dishonest business, lack of ethic and backtrack on commitment. I called to ask for price after seeing online. They gave price over phone. We liked the price and went into store to check the product. We liked the sample wood of a brand. As next step, before confirming the total estimate, they wanted to measure the house floor. The first surprise came in actual quote.

The price has increased per square feet. After negotiation, we were able to short-out differences, assuming it was communication confusion. We signed and we were promised a brand. Product was dropped to our place. Next day installation started. After a while we started to see few quality issues. We asked and they removed some of the defective woods, before installation.

The one installed they never replace (and we are living with the defects even today). By afternoon we noticed the continuous quality issue. I smelled there is something fishy. I started checking the wood boxes very closely, there was no logo for the brand that we ordered. Then checked the papers inside. There was no mention of brand. We called store and asked same question on brand. when we stopped the work, someone from store came.

They assured it's good quality product from same brand. After asking to show facts, they mentioned we got the grade we paid for. I was shocked. What grade? Have you asked while we were ordering? After insisting for brand, they assured, they would check with brand's state supplier. And asked us to continue the work, because we would it's a loss for him if workers is seating without work.

We trust again saying, till you don't provide proof of genuine Mullican good quality product, we would hold money. Work continued for next day. On Monday too, they were not able to produce the facts to confirm the Mullican genuine brand. We were getting impatience however have to continue the work, because half of the floor was only remaining and all the stuffs around the house were here and there.

It was big risk for kids. There are many black woods. Many woods are having minute holes. After work was done, we asked for the guarantee papers at-least, else we would hold back portion of money as quality compensation. Business would send person, and just ask for money. Went back on all commitment. No brand assurance and no guarantee paper. In house, the person would argue, the work is done, I need to pay, else workers would call the police.

From phone, store would threaten like roadside hoodie. It was 4'o clock office time and you don't want to malign yourself with roadside talks while kids and wife is around around. Watch for the business. It would take price of best, without mentioning, and would deliver cheap. There are many black woods and many woods with hole. Above all, no written guarantee. I don't recommend. Don't trust even single word.

I am not really in the business of knocking other brands or businesses, but after hearing the nightmares associated with lumber liquidators with some of their hardwood flooring, I decided maybe being frugal is not the only quality to look for. I was recommended Consumer Carpets and decided to give them a shot, even though I did not consider going with a NJ based business for a Brooklyn home project.

I am sure glad that I did though, because I was able to get all my questions answered, was able to still satisfy my frugal obsession, and came out with beautiful bamboo floors for my basement. I was given detailed information on pricing, timeline, and anytime I had questions or concerns, I was answered with patience and professionalism. If I ever need more flooring done, or anyone else asks me about flooring, I will not hesitate to use Consumer Carpets again. Thank you for revitalizing my basement!

We had been looking to put a runner in our staircase after our son slept from the first step and ended in the last on (almost 15 steps). We went to the normal big box stores like Home Depot and Lowe's and found out fast that they nickel and dime you for every little thing. I walked into there store and was given one price and a time and date for installation unlike the other big box stores which gave me an estimated time and date (3-4 weeks). I'm vary happy with there work and the carpet it self. Thank you for everything

By far the best carpet store in the area. They did an outstanding job with the carpets they installed in my grandmothers house. Very friendly staff and really nice and genuine family running the business. They are professional in every aspect of the work and really care about giving you transparent pricing and value. They let you decide (no pressure) and help you get what you want vs. what they want to sell you.

Their installers, while can be difficult to communicate with due to language challenges, were still very nice and willing to try and do things right. I couldn't have been happier with the work they performed. A+ service at reasonable prices with a friendly attitude. highly recommend!

I spent almost 2k to carpet installed in 2 rooms and some stairs the place isn't cheap the owner is friendly but I was satisfied with the quality of the not so cheap carpet I selected. The installers whom don't speak English the lead installer does he asked if I spoke Spanish and I told him no why admit to it if it isn't obvious. They proceed to talk about me and speak in the most vulgar language I can imagine.

They were careless moving furniture that I paid extra for they put a hole in my door damaged my walls and did a shitty job on the installation. The carpet was lumpy they did a terrible job with the seams didn't stretch the carpet out well. The carpet was cut short and you could see gaps on the steps not good. They got glue on my carpet some areas weren't tacked down at all.

They had to come out twice in order to fix the carpet they didn't not pay for my damage or replace the portion of my carpet they got glue on. The lead installer was pissed I questioned his work and kept saying I was crazy and kept calling me a b*tch as I'm point out other items to be repaired he says no, no more problems everything is fine.

After spending so much money I expect the job to be done well and to be treated with respect I will have to get someone else to come fix my carpet because they're no longer allowed in my house. I believe they cater to Spanish speaking customers, the owner said they're contractors and he won't use them any more and that has turned out to be a lie as I still see them there and one time they were a no show to fix my carpet because the lead installer the rude one was having back spasms which means he has no one else. Do your self a favor go somewhere else!

This is a very nice local family business. I've used them for three jobs - linoleum in the kitchen, carpet on stairs and upstairs landing, and custom runners to protect high traffic areas. Nelson, Brian, and Nelson Jr. are all very nice and professional. During busy times they can be a little slow at returning calls or sending over estimates, but that was nothing a follow-up call didn't fix. Installation was really top-notch; the stairs in this 100-year-old house are not square and provided a bit of a challenge, but we are very happy with the result.

Despite the fact that these old houses aren't square, they were able to align the pattern in our new carpet so that it looked right. I'm not sure how they accomplished that. Same for the pattern in the kitchen linoleum. Somehow it came out looking square. (Owners of old houses will understand this is sometimes a problem.) Sometimes the installers don't speak English, but that didn't pose any problem because the owners are all fluent in Spanish. Personally, I prefer doing business with locally-owned businesses instead of the large chains.

For the first job, I did get estimates from Lowes as well. Consumer Carpets offered very competitive pricing, but much better personal service and follow-up. It is clear that they really care about doing a good job. Plus, they are a part of the community. Skip the chain stores and give Consumer Carpets a call. I plan to call them again when we re-do our basement, and when we have rugs made for our living and dining rooms.

Bottom line: Good on price, excellent workmanship, attention to detail, and customer service. And if you need customized rugs you should definitely call them. I will update this review again if there are any problems, but I don't expect that I will need to.

Tried another carpet place and was totally turned off. This place has a good selection of carpets and with a courteous staff it is a good option if you are looking for carpet in Jersey City.
