It's unfortunate because I like the company from previous work they have done for me but this past experience was very disappointing. I had a scheduled appointment between the timeframe of 8-11 a.m. I called to check on their status a little after 9 a.m. to see when they would be on their way. I received a text saying they were on an emergency call and would keep me updated. Fine.
Time passes and it is now after 11 a.m. I ask them for a status update and they tell me the emergency call now required an inspection from DP&L and was more serious. I asked if there was another electrician who they can send to work on my project. It took them a while to respond so I called the company and they told me dispatch would call me to see if anyone else is available to come to my house, fine.
I waited two hours and dispatch didn't call. I called the company again and was told dispatch would call me regarding sending out someone else. Dispatch never called. Then I received a text message from the guy I was speaking with earlier saying they were short an electrician and wouldn't be able to come out to me that day but could come out the next day.
That wasn't feasible for me considering I had taken off a day of work just to have my electric fixed for it not to get fixed. Once I told them the next day wouldn't work for me I didn't get any more correspondences or other scheduling options from them. This could have been handled much better. If I didn't keep asking about status updates I would still be waiting outside two days later for them to come.
With that being said, even if you have a scheduled appointment, there is no guarantee someone will be able to accommodate you on that day especially when other emergencies arise.

It is increasingly rare these days to find a company that is consistently reliable, professional, great at what they do, informative, prompt, and friendly. We are new homeowners and have used Jahn a couple times now to replace outlets, install lighting, and install outdoor outlets, plus a few other little things. Our experience was fantastic both times, far beyond what we would expect. We're sold and using Jahn from now on. Now to find a plumbing company that we love as much! Bravo to the owners of this outfit--you're clearly doing a great job--and thanks!

I am a veteran of the US Air Force, because of that I expect an honest company. I read the other posts and am dumbfounded by responses. Maybe if the issues at hand were trivial to make money then I can agree with that. Here is my story. I bought a house that was inspected to have electrical issues. Jahn electric was called to my residence to inspect the issue and give a qoute.
The qoute was 4700 to fix the issue. I was called 2 weeks after the sale of my house and the work was post-poned from Jahn due to the issue of them not acquiring the parts to fix the issue. I called two weeks later to find out if they have the parts and they return the call with work to be done the next day. No problem, as the work will be done. They come the next day and the check from the sellers doesnt cover the work needed done.
They then qoute us at 7100.almost 3k over the cost. When I called and talked to Tyler he was very amicable, but handed us off to a manager Tom at Jahn. Tom then proceeded to tell us that things happen, and when they turned the power off at the house they discovered a different issue. He then told me its not standard to shut power off at the house, and the home inspector wrote up panel changes.
A few things bother me on this. Home inspectors are not electricians and dictate the work needed done, they simply bring an issue to attention. Jahn did not investigate the panels or the problem, instead they qouted something without even visiting the premises. They messed up, and instead of taking blame would rather upset a potential customer because they dont wont to lose 3k.
I asked Tom if he would tell the owners of our issues and he replied that the OWNERS WOULD NOT GIVE US THE TIME OF DAY. If this is true I would fire your manager for saying it. As a manager myself Im appalled that an employee would even mention this. Also, before ending the phone call Tom said it would cost us 7100 or the work wouldnt be done. As a respectful company, I would expect a little more tact.

Mark came out late last night just to do the diagnostic for why half power was out. Identified it within 5 minutes. Gave me the run down of what it was and how much it would cost at a flat rate cost which was far less than expected. Even had my landlord asking who they were. He then came back out today and had the problem fixed in under an hour and power was fully restored! I will now be keep Jahn electric and marks number saved in my phone for any future needs!

Mark did a great job! The stove was installed incorrectly and the wires had burned and disconnected from the appliance. He fixed it up good as new and also added a breaker to our panel for our laundry room, and put the door back on the panel with new screws! He was so nice and explained everything and showed me the issues, and I understood exactly what he was doing. Highly recommend.

We had an emergency electrical issue that required repairs before DP&L would reconnect our power. Jahn Electric Service responded to our call quickly and corrected the issues so we could regain our power. Mark did a fantastic job getting our power back on safely. We will definitely call Jahn Electrical for our electrical needs in the future.

I needed electrical work done to my residence to support a backup power generator. I called Jahn Electric and arranged a preliminary review of the requirements. First of all, I was impressed that the electrician - Tyler - was able to offer me several solutions as opposed to simply trying to make a sale. Once we decided on a solution, he worked up a detailed and very fair quote.
He was able to start the next day and showed up on time. Now, I've done a bit of electrical work around the house, but Tyler is on a whole different level. Professional, neat, and clearly a guy who takes pride in his work. I could not be more pleased with his work, attitude, and professionalism. I'll be having some more electrical work done around the house. Jahn Electric has certainly earned my trust.

Jahn Electric was a pleasure to work with on a project that we needed done without delay. They were very quick to respond when we called with some major electrical work to be done in our kitchen that needed immediate attention. They were expeditious on job timing, arrival to our home and project completion. They were meticulous in their performance, ensured code was followed and delivered a great result. Chad was a delight to work with. He informed me of exactly what was going on and provided solutions to our problem. He was thorough and clean. He covered everything up. My wife was very impressed. We changed our mind and paid with a credit card and Chad used a card reader with a printer to give us our copy. No written credit card numbers.

Chad was our service pro. Arrived on time, very friendly, answered all questions in detail. Gave some tips for safety that has really helped. Searched for electrical short until it was found. After asking me questions to try and help find the problem it did not take long to find it. Fixed the problem gave a lot of information on why the short happened.
