The business was started in 1946 by my grandfather Thomas Procaccini upon his return from service as a soldier in WWII. Thomas built a business that was based on "old school", time-honored craftsmanship, installing and refurbishing solid wood flooring.

Permafloors was started in 1995. The owner of the business, Steve Hasterlik, wanted to have radiant floor heat in his new home. Upon researching subcontractors for the gypsum concrete, he discovered no one in Montana provided that service. The gypsum concrete business became so successful that Steve discontinued providing drywall and painting services in 2000.
