Mae Fence

The fence install was quick. The crew that came onsite was friendly and asked questions before starting to ensure that the fence was on our property line and we were happy with placement before they began. The only thing that I'm not happy with is the amount of dirt that was left behind and the large gaps under the fence. Granted our home is on a slanted plot on one side.

The foreman stated that if they made the fence to cover the gaps then the top would not be straight across so I understood that. They however stated that they would not pick up the excess dirt so I emailed the company about 5 or so days later to ask if this is normal. They stated it isn't and they would send someone out to pick up the excess dirt.

Now here I am almost 3 weeks out from our fence installation date and the fill dirt is still not removed. I'm disappointed because I've read reviews stating this was an issue and here I am facing the same issue. After paying close to 9K for our fence, I would expect some sort of urgency in this matter. I sit on the board for my housing association and my local comission, I'm not someone that keeps my mouth shut about issues.

I expect the excess dirt removed and grass seed put down or I will hire an outside company to do so and fight with my bank for part of the money back if I have to pay someone out of pocket to handle this. Our yard also floods now since the fence install. They stated that has nothing to do with the fence so I will get someone out to survey the land and see where that issue is coming from. This just started after the install but it could just be a coincidence.

Mae Fence installed a metal fence across my blacktop driveway. They set the posts in cement and made no effort to cover the cement in any type of asphalt patch to match the rest of the driveway. The post holes were done poorly, not evenly filled, and initially topped off with some of the dirt they had dug up. 3 separate crews from Mae stopped out but the end product still looked poor.

When I tried to explain my issues with the job they did, the GM told me the job looked "fantastic" and there was nothing more they could do. Ended up fixing the issues myself.

So happy I decided to go with this company for my fence install! From the start the process was "simple, fast & easy". The sales person came out gave me my quote and from that step forward Mae Fence helped me every step of the way! The customer service was great & the installers were amazing and got everything done same day! We can't wait to enjoy our new fence this summer and not worry about our 4 dogs running off! Thank you for everything MAE FENCE! I recommend this company to everyone looking to get a new fence!

From the initial consult to the install, we had a great experience with Mae Fencing. They were timely and communicated clearly through the entire process, and the final fence looks great! After previously working with another company for some other work we had done and experiencing the frustration of poor communication, Mae Fencing was a welcome change. We would certainly recommend them to anyone!

I was hesitant to go through mae fence due to some of the reviews but was pleasantly caught by surprise when I called to consult about fencing for my property. When I called all of my concerns and questions were addressed and we were able to find the perfect fence for my property on my budget. A few days before I received a call from the GM Adam reassuring that they were coming to install the fence on the day planned. They got the fencing done in a timely manner and I couldn't be happier! We love it.

EDIT: All issues were resolved and taken care of in a very timely manner once management was made aware of my concerns. After further discussion with Mae Fence, COVID delays and staff shortage/changes were a major cause of the miscommunication. Overall, I am very happy with their attentiveness and concern for customer satisfaction. The man on the repair crew was early for our appointment, was kind and courteous, and got the repair done quickly, even in the cold snow.

Thank you! We wanted to put on a small addition to our fence. After a several month run around, they finally "found just enough" for our fence. Clearly you can see the color does not match. It would have been nice to at least move these to an area or corner where it would not have been as noticeable, or swapped out panels on the side of our house.

This unfortunately is right on the street where it is most visible to everyone. There are also gaps near the posts where some pickets have an addition guard piece and others do not. They did a great job with the initial install, but trying to communicate for anything else was not easy. I truly believe we only got this taken care of since I raised concerns that others in our neighborhood were having similar products installed and we were delayed several weeks

We just had a six foot privacy fence installed in our backyard. I see a lot of people complaining about the installers being difficult to communicate with due to ESL. We had a crew that spoke limited English, we had no issue communicating with them what we wanted, when we asked for the posts to line up a little differently they agreed with a smile, and dug all new post holes which is grueling work.

Our fence was installed with levels and lines laid first, it is beautiful and well done, and they stayed until after dark finishing up so we could let our dog run in her yard. On the flip side our neighbors had a crew out earlier in the week, who did speak English as their first language, they installed the fence uneven and without using levels etc, it looks like garbage and that crew cut our internet line because of how sloppy they were.

So I guess it's all a matter of what matters to you, do you want your fence done right or do you want it done by people who fit some narrative you have. Please ignore the reviews on here that complain about the so called language barrier, it is a nonissue as far as the quality of them fence goes. The wood straight fence was ours installed by Mae the other vinyl leaning fence was my neighbors from a different company. So happy we chose to use Mae Fence.

Had three different fence quotes and Mae was easily the cheapest. I also saved a couple hundred dollars by presenting a Valpak coupon. The quality of work didn't suffer with the price as we've received several complements from neighbors and friends/family. They were able to schedule us pretty quickly and got the project done in one day. It's only been a month but I couldn't be happier with the product.

We are very happy with the vinyl fence that Mae Fence installed back in August. The cost was reasonable. The crew was prompt, and very diligent with their work. I don't know if / when I've last left a review. But we have been disappointed in the process and the end product with this company. The process of installation began ~1 month ago. The pictures included are just an example of scratches / dings throughout still present today. We had considered backing out because we read some of the negative reviews (please do read and consider if you're comfortable with these types of errors) and we were uncomfortable with the lack of communication leading up to the project (some likely stemming from a lack of communication from the initial consult where our scheduled time was canceled & we were squeezed in later).

We very much wish we had canceled and hopefully you can save yourself the stress. It would have been worth waiting for one of the companies that needs to schedule you farther out. If you look at reviews for this company, it seems most of the negative reviews have to do with the quality of fence / install and for some other companies it has to do with wait time.

I would have rathered waited and had a quality fence with less homeowner stress. This installation has taken over a month (even if we'd been ok with questionable quality our fence would not have been completed on the date of install because the gates were not present). We tried to be present throughout and absolutely hover for this fence work to ensure errors reported in prior reviews didn't occur, but it simply hasn't been possible to end up with a quality result. Crews have continuously tried to get work done quickly, leading to initial holes being dug in our yard that were not consistent with plans (they were re-dug and moved because we caught it before concrete was poured), a gap under our fence that varied from touching the ground to 6 inches despite discussing that it would likely be ~ 2 inches that morning (seemed to be such a large gap because where they started the leveling process wasn't considered - we improved this ourselves by adding mulch beds under the highest gaps when they left), damaged gates being attached incorrectly (gates not consistently closing, not in a direction explicitly discussed [we were unable to repeat our explicit directions because a crew arrived unannounced and began work without calling/knocking], and with a significant number of scratches).

We have also had crews state they are arriving on a given day, even stating they are en route after cleaning up another site and then not arriving. When a crew did finally arrive to replace our scratched gates and to ensure they consistently open/close we were left with gates that are still scratched as pictured. We have been out cleaning up concrete from patio, removing concrete from plants, adjusting gate latches. digging mulch beds. and trying to make this work after each time a crew has left.

We want it to be done and are trying to work with it. As of now we are trying to get some of the company's spray paint to try to fix scratches on our own because some of the areas they have spray painted have been done sloppily. Many of the individuals we have talked to have seemed kind, but unfortunately there has seemed to be minimal communication between office and crews, between crews, etc. and there have been issues on follow through.

Overall a negative and disappointing experience. Hopefully we're an outlier and they don't stand by this type of experience, but it seems from prior reviews that we have not been the only ones left frustrated.

Really impressed with this company. Everyone was extremely friendly. I work in construction as well, and sometimes I feel like a job is only done right if I do it myself, but these guys made me happy that I chose to save my back on this one! Well worth the money spent. I did have to bump my job a week due to a personal matter, but they were great about it and it wasn't a problem. Bruno and Coconut are happy to roam, too. Win-win!

Overall I'm mixed with the results. Both my neighbor and I had fences completed by Mae Fence. Mine went pretty well, the crew that installed it seemed professional and the results were solid. My neighbors' crew though was less than perfect by far. First, they installed a completely different style of gate in the fence than was requested. My neighbors asked for the same one I had. Also, for some strange reason they didn't line up the fences were they meet so their fence is set back a foot or so.

It looks strange from the street not to have one contentious fence line. Finally, there were 3 areas that were left unfinished or poorly finished. The first was in the front where they left over 10 of fencing unfinished. You could just see the 2x4s and no extra fencing wood was put on the face to finish it. On another corner they didn't properly finish the corner where instead of trimming off the excess 2x4 sticking out they just nailed a piece of wood to it and left it stick out. Lastly, at the back of the fence where it meets the neighbors fence they left a gap.

I bought wood myself and finished all 3 in less than an hour. It would have taken them 10 minutes. Very unprofessional and lazy. Pictures of before and after when I finished it off. Also the quality of wood my neighbor received appears to be less than mine as it has a lot more rough texture and a few boards are warping after recent rains. I got lucky I guess. Based on the numerous negative reviews on here I would hesitate to use them. I think it's possible to get a good job from them but clearly there are too many people who have had bad experiences.

They didnt line my fence with the neighbor's, left wood boards, a big piece of concrete, and a lot of nails in the yard. The angle of the fence is wrong but they just used the nails to fill the gap. The gate is already scrapping the frame. This wasn't a cheap project and I thought they were professional. The reviews were good before but now it's full of warnings. Look somewhere else

To say that I'm happy with this company is an understatement. They did fantastic with the installation and really improved the back yard. Mae was great to work with and I would absolutely recommend them. The crew did leave a little debris in the yard, but came back the next day to remove it. Service: Vinyl fence

We have a really tough backyard to put a fence in. It is very hilly and rocky. The men installing did a great job and worked hard until the job was finished. The fence looks great and I would recommend to everyone. Everything was great and finished in a day.

This company has caused my family a ton of stress. Please view the photos that go along with my review. These were mostly taken the day our fence was installed but some were taken later. I have called and emailed various people within the company countless times, and it still hasn't been fixed. I have waited 2 weeks to leave this review, hoping it would be resolved before this point but I feel like I have to share our experience with others.

We got this fence as our 10 year wedding anniversary gift to each other and it has been nothing but stressful. Here's a summary: 1) Did not show up on the scheduled date, with no notice that they weren't coming (until we called to check where they were). 2) Showed up on the re-scheduled date but began installing the wrong fence, had to re-schedule again. 3) Showed up on the re-re-scheduled date and installed the fence, with the following issues: A) There are places where the bottom is several inches off the ground and other places where the bottom is touching the ground.

Meaning the top of the fence is different heights, depending on where you stand. B) The end caps are not attached to one of the gates C) There are several places that were cut poorly and there are sharp edges (see pics) D) There are several cuts, scrapes, nicks, scratches, etc. all over, it looks like it was dragged through rocks (again, see pics) E) One gate drags through the dirt, it should be off the ground F) They cut through our cable wires and did not inform us G) I am pretty sure the fence was installed inside out.

All the screws are on the outside. All pictures on their website, and all pics I can find online and all fences I have seen in person have screws inside so the outside looks finished. H) We picked up about 20 aluminum screws and sharp pieces that were in our yard after they left. They "fixed" some of these things by spray painting over the scratches but obviously it doesn't look new.

They were supposed to fix the rest yesterday but we didn't hear from them again, and still nothing today. I will update this review when/if we reach a solution. But as of right now, I would advise strongly that you save yourself the stress that we have gone through and look elsewhere.

Easy to work with and schedule install. The installers. were very professional and did an excellent. job. My only complaint was that due to a welder issue there was a delay in getting our gates, so we had a fence without gates for a week and our dogs couldn't use the area.

With COVID took some time between the giving them the go-ahead and getting them out for the install. A couple of crews came out for the install including a finishing crew that did the final detailing. Would definitely recommend them because the fence turned out great. In fact we did recommend them to one our neighbors who was planning on having a fence installed at some point.

We called Mae Fence for an estimate and they were scheduled to come out the next week. We told them a couple of fence ideas we had in mind and they were very helpful to list the pros and cons. They even helped to suggest some cost savings ideas with us that ultimately made us wanting to work with such a honest company. They installed our fence in one day even despite the cold rain. Would highly recommend!

E-mailed them over a week ago for a quote. Have heard nothing. Why have a contact form on your page if you're not going to respond to customers?

I lined up to have a fence installed for my parents, who live in Columbus, and even though I waited a month for the cedar fence to be installed (I was told they were extremely busy) it was well worth the wait! The fence looks gorgeous, we are beyond grateful to have come across this company! 10/10 would recommend

From beginning to end, the folks at were very professional and did a great job. Matt came a few days after calling for a review of the yard and a quote. He was on time, and the review was quick and easy. I told him I was still looking around and would get back to him shortly. After deciding to go with Mae due to cost and what I believed to be great quality, we had our date scheduled and only had to wait around 6-7 weeks.

Day of installation only took ~4-5 hours, They showed up right around 9:00am and got straight to work. I had a few questions on gate placement, the crew answered that. About an hour in, the post hole digger cut my internet line (minor disruption), that wasn't the best, but they had it repaired within 30 minutes and I was back online. After installation, we walked the fence, everything looked great.

There was still some dirt around the post holes (to be expected), but they had removed the large mounds of dirt, which was great. They cleaned up and headed out, and we are very happy with our fence!

Overall, we were fairly pleased with the quality of work and the finished product. That being said, their crews definitely have some room for improvement. The cleanup could've been more thorough. They used small chainsaws to trim the post tops before putting the caps on. Most of the caps are somewhat crooked. Not enough to sour me towards this company or give them an unfair/nasty review, but it could've been done more neatly. Their charges are quite fair, so you tend to be somewhat forgiving, knowing that you got probably one of the best deals out there!

Unreliable and unprofessional! I had an in-home consultation scheduled that had to be rescheduled because the person coming was in a car accident. I did get a call from someone named Matt who let me know the appointment had to be postponed. Matt told me he would come to my property a few days later and measure the yard, which did not happen. I called the office and asked why Matt had not been out to measure. She scheduled a new consultation appointment for today at 5:30pm. I waited until 5:55pm. No show, no call. They obviously don't want the business.

Final product is exactly what my wife and I were hoping for in our back yard. The fence turned out gorgeous. Whitney was a joy to work with and always helpful. Met the owner Tim on the day we purchased and was impressed he took the time to show additional options on his computer. He explained the process in detail helping easy any worries my wife and I may have had at that time.

The style of our fence was not one of ones shown on the website or at the factory yet they were able to complete the project and make us happy. Thanks Mae Fence for a quality experience and quality product.

Where to even begin. These guys are amazing. Our fence looks absolutely beautiful. We've had 2 separate privacy fences placed and still need one more area fenced off. Will definitely be calling these guys.

I had an incredible experience with this company, their craftsmanship is top grade. Original designs with quality cedar that's maintenance free, and all fabricated here in Columbus. It's something to be proud of, that you don't look like everyone who runs out to Home Depot to buy pine that starts warping Day 1. I see some other reviews on here with one star, I can't fathom where these people are coming from. My family is stoked to have the privacy and my neighbors thank me for the fresh cedar smell;

Absolutely horrendous experience. In June we ordered the moving of an existing fence and installation of new pieces around a pool and garden area. On the day of installation, workers arrived to dig holes and cut down the existing fence posts. After this was completed they realized that they did not have the correct pieces to install the new fence.

They indicated new fence would need to be ordered. We were originally told this would take a few weeks. A few weeks turned into 10+. This left my pool exposed until it was finally completed at the end of September. The owner was impossible to reach with his secretary simply stating that she would get our message to him. Only after I got his personal mobile number from his sales guy did I finally manage to reach him.

His justification for the delays was that the sales guy had quoted the job to cheap. When his workers finally arrived 2 weeks after his promised date, they left behind a horrible mess. I spent hours picking up broken metal, screws, drill bits from around my pool area and glass, not to mention a few dozen cigarette butts.

This company put a fence in at my neighbors, they did not inform me prior to entering my property. They damaged plants and bushes, refused to talk to me or compensate me. They left a mess on my side, left debris, left pavers sticking up in the cement around the post and left an overlay of cement. Quite frankly the workmanship on that fence is questionable and their lack of communication is really disturbing.

I needed a fence for the backyard of my house to keep my dog from running away. I called Mae Fence after searching for a residential fence company in central Ohio. They came out that week, measured, and gave me an estimate that day.

Mae fence built us a black chain link fence with an aluminun front with a beautiful gate. The installers were on time, continued to work and did an awesome job. I would recommend them to anyone. Very pleased with their work.
