4/5/22 - Revising review due to the owner's detailed and thoughtful response - thank you! - Decent company, and our technician Nicholas was very nice and knowledgeable. He came out on Monday to replace our garage door opener. Unfortunately, after Nicholas did all the hard work of taking down the old hardware and putting up the new hardware, he discovered the product itself was defective.
He had to take down everything and return to the manufacturer for another unit. His company didn't have another one on hand. Everything was completed by Wednesday. Monday, North Texas had the big storms and tornadoes, so our cars had to sit outside for 3 nights total (including Sunday). We weren't offered anything for our inconvenience, hence the lower rating.
I asked if a keypad could be added for free ($70 value) but the head office offered it for $60 at cost and waiving the installation fee. I declined for now. I'm unfamiliar with garage door openers and the latest technology. However, I would assume there would be various models to choose from that the company would offer their customer? Instead, they came out and installed a LiftMaster basic model, wireless, with 2 standard garage door openers and phone app access. I gave one star higher because Nicholas was patient and kind.

When our garage door started squeaking, squealing and screeching every time we opened it, we tried calling the company that installed it but couldn't get a call back. I remembered seeing a flyer in the mail from O'Brien advertising garage door tune-ups. I was pretty skeptical, figuring they would try to tack on extra charges or sell me stuff I didn't want.
I was pleasantly surprised when our technician Ronnie explained the services he was about to perform and took the time to educate me about my garage door. For example, I had no idea there was a counter on the control panel that kept track of how many times the garage door had been opened since it was installed. He showed me the key points on the door that need regular lubrication.
Price was as advertised with no added sales pitch. Ronnie definitely understood that the initial service call was an opportunity to build trust and form a relationship. I would definitely consider O'Brien for a future repair or garage door purchase.

We booked our appointment and it was confirmed doe Monday. Then cancelled for no reason after we schedule our day foe them. Then they rescheduled for today. We received a confirmation call this am that a technician will come. Then received another call to call them. A woman answers and said yes they will b there in 30-40 min. Then another person called and he said no someone else will come by later today.
So we said ok so confusion wirh these calls. Then 15 min later dame guy called and said sorry we can't come. The worse customer service or schedule period. The worse. We planned our whole work schedule for these guys. And no sorry no nothing. Just can't come. Don't use them or they will mess up your day too. They don't care.

I found O'Brien via Google search and decided to take the chance on an unknown thanks to the wonderful Google Reviews. My personal experience lived up to top notch reviews. Nicholas, the technician who visited our home was respectful, knowledgeable and skillful. The tune up was quick and the subsequent recommended roller replacement was great guidance for safety and noise reduction. Nicholas coached me how to self-maintain and what to look out for when to call them again for aging parts (springs supposedly last around 5-8 years before needing replacement). Great experience all around and highly recommend.

Quick to respond! Next day appointment to diagnose the issue, and scheduled the install of a new opener to accommodate my schedule. Joey was prompt, knowledgeable and extremely courteous! Will call on them again if the need arises. I will definitely recommend to any of my friends, family or neighbors!

7/20 - OBrien sent their Technician Daniel to come fix my garage door motor and a bent garage railing. He did a great job and we really love how they obsess over their customers. 5/20 - I visited O'Brien's showroom last week and was pleasantly greeted by Gloria. These people are great and can't be recommended enough!

My appointment was set for 2 to 5 p.m. they were able to come earlier which was GREAT. They were the 3rd company I had out since everyone was telling me I had to get a new garage door and there was no way for it to be fixed. Patrick came out and was talking to me about new doors and mentioned the door being repaired. I was taken back since being told by 2 other companies that wasn't an option.
Long story short Patrick fixed my garage instead of having to get a new door. GREAT quality of work my door is now working beyter than ever. I also have to say I enjoyed Patrick he was super pleasant and very knowledgeable. He was quick and very detailed at his job. I will for sure be using this company again and will be asking for Patrick to be my service tech!

Joey, was the worker who came on the initial service call. He was amazing, very friendly and didn't charge me for his service call until he did a follow up visit to be sure the problem was resolved which it was. The service call charge was very affordable. I also needed a 2nd remote control and I was able to buy it right out from this truck and he programmed it for me! Customer service the right and easy way. Thank you Joey!

Friendly, honest and efficient we were very impressed with O'Brien Garage Doors. We had hoped that all the old opener needed was a tune-up, but the technician pronounced the motor as unrepairable. He had a new opener with him, but did not pressure us to buy it. He reviewed all our various options of buying a new opener from a big box store or O'Brien's and the different labor costs. We decided to go with O'Brien's and it was installed the same day. The technician couldn't have been nicer.

We have used O'Brien's for over 23 years and have never had any problem with their service. They have always been professional and courteous and reasonably priced. Jody, the gentleman who serviced us yesterday was very nice and fixed us up so we're back in business. Highly recommend O'Brien's for any service needed on your garage door.

Had our door opener replaced on 9/3/2020 in Arlington, TX. Tech's name was Joey. Installation was smooth and efficient, and opener is working fine. Called Arlington office on 9/8/2020 to ask a question. First person to answer call could not answer question, so put me on hold to go look. Call was cut off. Called back. Second person answers, I explain, they put me on hold to confer with first person.
Call is cut off. Call back a third time. Second person answers again, has conferred with first person, and gives me an answer. Problem is, the answer has nothing to do with my original question, which I explain. Second person and I get on the same page, and they say they will contact tech and get back to me. No further contact as if 9/12/2020

We had a new garage door installed. They quickly booked us on their schedule and asked to come earlier than our original appointment. Our technician Nick was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He told us what we needed but did not pressure us in any way. Our garage door is now working great! Thank you!

Our garage door opener had an issue (the wire between the two safety sensors somehow got wrapped around the spring) and I called O'Brien as they had helped me a few years back. I called on Tuesday and they made an appointment for Friday. Found out hubby had to work, as did I, so had to reschedule to Monday. They gave me 10a-1p as the time window and advised the tech would call 30 mins prior.
I got an automated call (press 1 if you are home) and the tech Ronnie arrived about 20 minutes later. Ronnie listened to my explanation of the issue and got right to work. During his inspection he noticed that the cable was off the track, so that was problem #2. He also noticed that all of our rollers were shot, so we needed to replace those (10 of them, $10 per roller).
He explained what each problem was, in detail, and explained what would happen when he fixed it and also what would happen if he didn't. He also noted that the wooden upright between the left and right garage doors was rotten at the bottom, so it wasn't providing much support at all. He said we could get a carpenter to come out and shore it up or we could take it off and get one big garage door. (The latter was his recommendation as the first option really wouldn't stop it from rotting again.). Ronnie also went into great detail explaining the different types of doors (insulated, non-insulated, steel back or vinyl back) and the pros and cons of each type.
After this short lesson, I felt confident in my ability to shop wisely. Ronnie provided efficient handling of the repairs, great info on our current situation versus a look to the future, and was prompt, professional and didn't suggest any repairs that weren't needed. When it's time to shop for a new door (I think we'll go with the one big door option), I'm definitely calling Ronnie! Thanks for making this such an easy process with very fair pricing.

Horrible customer service. I normally don't write reviews, but this one I had to. They had repaired my garage door 3 years ago, so hoping I will get good service, given me being a repeat customer, but wow, to my surprise. I called on Monday, only to get an appointment for Friday 1-4 PM. Its 5:15 PM Friday and no one has even bothered to call me, mind you I kept calling for an update, but was told by every rep technician has just left his other assignments and you are next - starting 2 PM Friday.
I have never ever experienced such a lousy service, if you call as such. Pathetic to be an exact. I wouldn't recommend for lack of sense of urgency and promptness. 7:40 PM I must be honest here Immediately after this post, I did receive a call from their customer service manager apologizing for the bad experience and promised a better customer experience in the future.
Given they realized their mistake and accepted the responsibility, I will be a bit ignorant to what happened. Regardless, I had wasted my day, but may give them a chance in the future.

Chris came out today on super short notice. We've known for over a year the door would likely need to be replaced, but another break in the metal bracket saw us try to fix it.(FAIL) and then calling O'Brien's. Chris noted he could repair it, but it wouldn't last as too much was gone on the foam/vinyl backed garage door. Received an excellent quote for replacement. VERY personable and knowledgeable professional. Will do another review after the door is replaced.

O'Brien doors is the absolute best. This is a review for the Baltimore location. I consent to this review being shared on the websites. Ethan arrived at our house at 12:30p on a Sunday and worked tirelessly to complete the job by 8 p.m. He was professional and for a team of one worked quickly and efficiently to replace two doors and a motor. The doors and motors that were in the house previously were 30 years old.
He provided a new level of safety and security in our home and we are so glad that the new doors match the exterior aesthetic and increase our curb appeal. I highly recommend his services and I want to thank O'Brien doors for sending such a competent individual to complete this job. The Assembly of this work is a lot like a large complex puzzle and he did his job with precision and we are very happy with this work we highly recommend O'Brien doors to anyone. They they beat Costco's price by half.

Garage door damaged called O'Brien to repair. Door was replaced in 2013 but manufacturer said they no longer make parts. O'Brien said they could replace the entire door for $800. I said no, I want it repaired. Donna called me and said they can attempt to repair, but would not be perfect. I agreed to the repair. They repaired it for $150.00 but I did not need to spend $800 for a new door. Had another company come out and gave me a quote for $350.00 for the same repair. When I do buy a new door O'Brien will be the company I call.

O'Brien takes care of our family on garage door service and any maintenance that needs to be done. One of our wood doors wasn't closing all the way and they got it fixed, plus did routine maintenance. If you have questions or any issues, just ask for Joey. It's nice to have a local company who can take care of you. More recently, the bottom rubber seals on our garage doors needed to be replaced due to rodent damage on the side.
After not receiving help from the manufacturer and original installer of our wood garage doors, Joey took the time and effort to locate the exact product and to to replace the bottom seals on both doors. We are very thankful for Joey and O'Brien Garage Doors.
