Daddogg Lawn Care Daddogg Lawn Care, dba DDLC began in 2003 by Ted Bakke, who had a passion for owning his own business and mowing lawns. Ted left a lucrative career as a long time Account Executive to pursue his dream, and shortly thereafter recruited his two sons to become part of the "family business."

The company name was derived from the Bakke's online video gamer team name "Daddogg" which was a combination of "Daddy-O" for Ted and "J-Dogg" for Jeremy - one of the sons.At the onset, with father and both sons involved, the name became an obvious choice, and the grassroots company was born - Daddogg Lawn Care.

DadDawg did a great job re-sodding my 1600 sq ft back yard, which had been ravaged by racoons. It's a tricky job with many curved borders, but they did it all very well. They accommodated my schedule, came on time, cleaned up after themselves, and the crew was professional and courteous. Janie at the front desk was a pleasure to work with and kept me informed regularly. This was a huge job and I feel like the bill was quite reasonable. Highly recommended!

The owner was very pleasant and was a referral by the person who fixed our fence. I got an estimate for the work but it took a long while for them to actual make an appointment. By the time they came to do the work, the grass was very long. The owner dropped off three workers, only one spoke English. We talked about the work to be done and then the owner left.

The guys clearly were not used to work efficiently and were not knowledgable. When I received a bill for $800 for three hours, I was aghast. Much of it was a charge for 16 containers of grass. I couldn't understand why the guys didn't mow twice instead of only once and thereby producing a lot of clippings. A dead tree I didn't want chopped down because I wanted to put bird feeders on it was cut down.

Some roots were left which I had to hire someone to remove. Plants that I gave them were poorly planted and not watered. They all died and I had to replace them. A lavender plant was so poorly cut that I had to have it removed. The entire experience was costly and I'm still upset at myself that I didn't have them back to fix what they did but I really didn't want to have them here again. It cost me another $500 to fix things.

Shady and greedy business practices. After using their service for 11 months of a 12 month contract, they claimed via email our yard had an excessive amount of dog poop and threatened to charge $100 monthly for them to pick it up. I wrote back via email that I'd hire a pick up service since I was immobile due to having surgery. I was perplexed why this was all of a sudden coming up as there had been nothing mentioned by Daddogg in 11 months.

Keep in mind, our contract is for 12 months at $275/mo. A fair amount of money. Nonetheless, I hired a scooper service which started May 1 and the backyard was cleaned thoroughly (less than a week after the initial email complaint about dog poop). There has been no changes to our dog situation during our contract with Daddogg (3 dogs, indoors 90% of the time).

They returned on May 13 to mow and sent an email the next day advising they saw a large amount of poop and stated there will be a $25.00 additional fee for moving to the side. As you can imagine, I'm not happy. I asked why this was all of a sudden coming up. The Office Manager replied that their "crew leads have told us (the company) on several occasions about poop in the yard and how it takes them extra time." You would think that if this had come up several times, surely they'd notify the customer.

Even the owner came by according to the email, but yet he wasn't compelled to mention this to the consumer either. The Company will also nickel and dime you to do business with them. Want to set-up auto-with a debit/credit card? They'll tack on a convenience fee (tacky). Staring June 1, they will now charge a $3 fee for the luxury for paying them via ACH bank draft.

There are far too many options in this economy to be nickel and dimed, so I will be sending a check for my final payment minus the $25.00 fee that no proof was given of. Also concerning, they stated they will automatically renew your service contract for another 12 months. I only discovered this when I notified them I wished to cancel our service at the end of this month and find a new provider.

It's obvious business for Daddogg is tight as they are making up new fees to charge. There are too many competitors in the area to accept these games and lack of communication. Hoping the Company goes under sooner than later.

They treat their employees like trash especially employees of color. One of their drivers is a pill addict and racist and entitled especially since he is related to the owners some way and he drives under the influence of prescription drugs and operates heavy machinery as well as drinks on the job. If you are okay with a racist company that treats their employees like trash then go ahead.

They think it's okay to treat their employees of color likes slaves. We don't need racist companies in our communities or people driving work trucks under the influence where our families and kids live! Don't hire this extremely terribly run company who thinks it's okay to fire people when they speak up about being treated poorly. Also did I mention that they allow people under the influence to drive their trucks in our community? I wouldn't even give them one star.

Daddogg Lawn Care has provided good service at times. They are good at trimming bushes in the yard. However their results for the lawn care service are uneven at best. While being portrayed as a "premium service" the premium seems to come on the bill. They ask you to sign an agreement for one year which I understand, however you need to understand that this doesn't mean they will show up every week like most services do.

They come once a week in the spring and summer and then once a month late fall and through the winter. If you are expecting a well managed experience, this is not the choice for you. I would recommend them for one time trimming in your yard but would definitely not consider them for regular lawn service. My expectation was that the premium service would include regular weeding as discussed with the owner, that they would fertilize the lawn for both growth and weed maintenance as discussed. Weeding was done when you asked for it, and fertilizing was done approximately twice a year. To sum it up, pay them to trim your bushes, don't let them try to do your lawn.

I live in South Seattle which has proven to be a challenge in terms of getting someone to service my lawn. These guys were super responsive, very nice, and my yard looks amazing! Its not super cheap, but it has been worth the money for me. You always get what you pay for.

Daddogg works hard to make things perfect. They are hard workers and their prices are fair! I would recommend them to anyone.

My wife and I just love these guys! They have been taking care of our yard and different thing around the house for years. We have the best yard in the neighborhood, the best part about it is that we had nothing to do with it.
