Unfortunately this business has recently been sleeping on their laurels. It seems they recently started cutting back on customer service. I called them and talked to Chris because my AC stopped working, who assured me someone would give me a call within 2 hours, but 3 hours went by. Upon calling again, another employee told me I had to wait until Monday because they don't work after hours. Very disappointing to see this business go down like this

Very responsive and quick to fit us into their schedule. Assessment was that we needed a new unit, but another service person assessed that it could be repaired, so went with the other provider.

I've consistently had great experiences with this company over the past couple of years. The whole crew was super professional when they did the install, and they've been incredibly helpful on the maintenance side as well. Melvin took the time to show me how the system worked so I'd know exactly how to troubleshoot the most common problems myself. Response time is super speedy as well. 10 stars!

This one tech is definitely not a people person. He clearly has issues with people. Maybe he thought the profession would allow him to do his own thing and not have to deal with people. But in this world you cannot avoid it. He seems like a pressure cooker ready to blow his top any second. I definitely get creepy vibes around that guy. He thinks giving dirty looks is an acceptable substitute for speaking his mind.

But he might as well speak his mind since he body language and dirty looks belie his true attitude. As one other poster mentioned, I also chose them based on Yelp reviews. And like that poster, I also found that yelp can be deceiving. I overestimated them based on the "Smoke and Mirrors" facade of Yelp.

Abel (tech) always has a great attitude and answers every question I have. Very thorough and professional. Love when he's our tech! Kyle & Austin (install team) are kind, thorough, and very knowledgeable/professional. We are beyond happy with the quality of work that they did. Very happy with the new unit! Thank you!

Kyle and Austin did a great job on the installation, tried to recommend areas for improvement during the process, and I just felt very well taken care of, during what could be a very stressful experience.

The company that installed my two HVAC systems 8 years ago was bought by a giant company I did not like. One of our systems went out on Saturday. I called Downtown Air after reading reviews and they were able to get a very friendly tech named Abel out to us on Sunday for no extra charge. I was surprised they worked on Sundays! He diagnosed our systems and was able to get the parts covered under warranty saving us $500. Abel came out Monday with new parts and got everything working. Abel was professional, friendly and kept me uprised of his work. This is now my go to HVAC company for my home and my business properties. Highly recommended!

Sean, if you have a service fee that you feel is appropriate, then a client should be informed prior to any visit to the home. 1.5 hours on GPS? Perhaps time parked in the car- removing the ladder and replacing and calling you. At NO pining was a technician in my home 1.5 hours. You did not agree to move a service fee to repairs. No call from you or anyone else at your company. Sorry, that's an outright lie.

I called in the morning and the kind person answering the phone hadn't ordered it and wasn't sure they were open. Clearly my honest review upset you. Do better from start to finish. That's my best advice. I have a home camera that can verify my story. Your competition knew nothing of you. I did. He's actually very reputable and from start to finish 1.5 hours (again- home camera!) Do better. De better for your customers and yourself in.

My home is older and had a duct system that was in terrible condition. Downtown Air and Heat came over and sketched out my attic space, planned the new system and had the whole job complete in 2 days. Kyle and Austin did a great job start to finish. They showed up on time, kept me informed of their progress throughout the day, and cleaned up everything when they were finished each day.

Austin and Kyle did a great job with the installation. It turned into a real collaborative process since I had an older home. They even went the extra mile to ensure that my biggest concern, dehumidification, was address to the greatest extent possible given what I could afford. Thank you! This is the first review I ever wrote and it's because it's the best service I ever experienced from a ac company. I had all the old ducts and vents removed and all new ones installed and some low voltage wiring replaced. Kyle and Austin were the techs they sent out. These guys were so professional and knowledgeable and not to mention so polite. They let me know exactly what they were doing and constantly cleaning up behind themselves. They were here 3 days and always on time in the mornings. Downtown air will always be my go to ac company from now on.

The call started with Abel from Downtown AC checking over our old 13 year unit that originally came with the house 7 years ago. With a leak inside the air handler in such an old unit, we were looking at a new purchase. Making such an expensive and important purchase is stressful, but Abel took all the time I needed to answer every exhaustive question I had. Paying attention to my focus around efficiency, he even made suggestions in that vein, which eventually I took as well.

Once the install time came, Kyle and Austin took over, and carried that amazing service through. Kyle once again answered a few questions I'd come up with since speaking with Abel, and got back with me after checking with his home office for the correct answers on estimates he wasn't 100% sure on, so I knew it wasn't just info to placate me temporarily.

And his suggestions weren't up sells when there was no need for one, but simple reassurances around facts i.e. wherever pre existing piping would work best instead of adding to the estimate by putting in newer ones. They did an amazing job on the install, kept the area completely clean, even after installing a new grate, handler, hurricane pad, some small vent work, and outdoor unit as well as the required electrical work.

Didn't even need to pick up after them either. At the end Abel went over settings for the new thermostat, as well as answering more technical questions I had as new options opened up for our with the new unit in the house such as best practices for ongoing maintenance. Both techs were perfectly polite, absolutely professional, and genuinely nice to chat up! Look, honestly this was a huge purchase for us.

And I'm the type to research 9 ways to kingdom come before feeling good about such an investment. But all three men were the definitive nail in the coffin to feeling like we'd made the right choice of company to go with for our installation. I know I'll ever only call one ac repair company again. ( though hopefully not for a very long;D )

Kyle and Austin did a great job! They explained literally everything, and they were patient with little dogs barking at them all day while they worked.

Our daughters room was way hotter than the rest of the house and we were concerned. Apparently the grill was facing the wall! He did a full inspection of the unit to make sure the issue was not in the unit or ductwork itself. Additionally I was advised on a better way to filter our air. Service: HVAC system maintenance

Believe the fantastic reviews --this company is awesome! This was my second time using Downtown Air for a routine service. Abel was just as wonderful as Melvin -- professional, friendly and honest. I have an older unit but was told it's in great shape and neither one of them saw a need to replace or do any large repairs outside standard service. It's nice when you don't feel like you're trying to be upsold. I really can't say enough great things about this company. Fast and easy scheduling, reasonable prices and fantastic service; I will be renewing my service contract.

AC went out at 10pm Friday and within minutes of reaching out, they were coordinating a tech to visit by 9:30am Saturday. Work was don within an hour and Abel was super friendly and transparent. Highly recommend and will use again!

Excellent service. I called about replacing our plenum supply and they sent a tech out that same day. Work was completed within 24 hours. Kyle and Carlos were the techs and they did excellent work. I will recommend them to all of my clients and friends!

Had a relatively minor issue with my AC, but when you are in Orlando in the summer every minor issue is magnified and important to be fixed quickly. Want to compliment two people specifically - the scheduler (Kewana) and the field technician (Melvin). Scheduling was a breeze via phone and scheduled within a reasonable time from making the request. Kewana set me up to know when the tech would arrive and who my tech would be.

The day of the service, Melvin called to inform when he would arrive - and he showed up at the exact time. He was courteous to ask where best to park and fixed my issue nearly immediately. I would strongly recommend this company. Used them several times over the years and they're always wonderful.

Had another company come out that our builder had used to install units. They quoted me $865 for labor and I reached out to downtown air and heat as I saw so many good reviews. They quoted me $299! Downtown Air and heat saved us over $500. Came and did the work and were very professional. Will not use another company ever again. Downtown air and heat has our business. Educated us on the issue and didn't feel like we were getting ripped off. Great company. Both technicians were so great. Melvin installed the new part and Abraham came to diagnosis the issue. Both so great, highly recommend.

Respectful and professional.wore a mask. came out same day. Fixed our problem in less than 30 minutes. Seemed knowledgeable and honest. Charged a fair price and warrantied the work. This is our new go-to AC company. We have used several since moving here 7 years ago. They are the best! Thanks so much!

I have dealt with quite a few HVAC companies and this company by far has been the most respectful in both time and value. The technician comes on time Everytime and always leaves things clean and in order. I highly recommend using them for all your ac needs. I promise you will not regret it.

Upon purchasing a new home, I wanted a preventative maintenance check done on AC Unit + Heat Pump. After calling and setting up the appointment, I also observed ice on bottom of air conditioner and was a little worried about what might be causing that. Melvin was scheduled to make service call. He arrived on-time, communicated his ETA beforehand, arrived wearing a mask, and maintained proper social distancing throughout the entire time. Diving into his inspection, he observed the compressor fan motor was seizing up (making awful noises at this point) and suggested replacing it, with inventory from van.

Price was fair, the part was on-hand, and needed the unit running properly and agreed to move forward with his suggestion. The fan motor was replaced quickly, maintenance checks were completed on AC Unit + Heat Pump, he educated us on where filters were located + how to flush out heat pump, and did a fantastic job. He even hosed off the area around AC unit that had leaves and debris - something that he could've suggested me to do afterwards.

I highly recommend Downtown Air, most especially the HVAC Technician Melvin who provided a superior experience. I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism, knowledge, and interaction.

Shawn and his crew were absolutely wonderful in their installation of the a/c system for us. All of them were professional and extremely pleasant to deal with. Will continue to recommend them!
