Dehart Alarm Systems

I've been a Dehart customer for many, many years. They are always available and helpful. The customer service is phenomenal and despite error operator on my part, they quickly call, verify the situation and never ever pull a sales pitch. So many of my friends and neighbors have false calls, terrible service and constant rate hikes. Not Dehart! I wouldn't trust another company to keep me and my family safe!

My husband and I had a new alarm installed by Dehart Alarm yesterday. We were lucky to have Alan as our installer! He spent over 5 hours with us, and was a true professional the entire time. He was considerate of our property, was very knowledgeable about the products he was installing, and did not leave until he was sure that we were getting the absolute most of the alarm system.

He also took the time to make sure that we knew how to operate the panel, as well as the mobile app, with no questions unanswered. We felt that he went above & beyond his installation role by suggesting that we could incorporate our doorbell camera system, our thermostat system and the alarm system, so that all would be available in one place via the mobile app.

If we had not done so, we would have been using 3 different systems & apps. Alan upsold us on 2 additional units at $400+ installation. He went back to the shop, retrieved the units and installed them that day! We were very happy with our installation experience! If you use Dehart for your alarm needs, make sure to ask for Alan as your installer! 4-22) My husband and I had such a great experience the first time around with installation, as well as the servicing during the past year that we had another alarm component installed.

We were lucky to have Alan again as our installer, accompanied by Godfrey. They arrived when they said they would, and efficiently installed the product! We had an issue a short time after they left (our fault), and Alan was kind enough to stop driving and walk us through how to remedy the situation in just a few minutes. Again, great service from start to finish. Thank you Alan and Godfrey, and thank you Dehart for hiring quality personnel who make it easy to do business with you. We feel more secure in your hands.

This company is highly respected here in Sarasota. Excellent quality materials for your money, very professional team members, understand and know their products. Only after having an alarm company you contracted go to the wrong house during an alarm event do you realize the importance of carefully selecting the right alarm company! Switching to Dehart Alarm Systems in Sarasota was one of my very best decisions!

Accounting Department worthiness, received another 2 bills today and one last week, I accidentally overpaid with auto pay from 2 different banks for 2 months, did I get a refund NO, Did I get credits on my bill NO. But then what did I get, you guessed it. Another bill! I have called on incorrect billing before, maybe this poor review when read by Kelly C Schott Vice President will get action, or another bill?

We have had DeHart as our alarm system for 14 years now & have always had good experiences with them. If we forget to take the alarm off first thing in the morning & open a door/window, they call right after the alarm goes off! When we have issues with the alarm, they promptly address it. They are courteous, knowledgeable & helpful. They are professional!

My wife and I have subscribed to Dehart Security services since moving to Florida over 20 years ago. They were the only company that would monitor our older alarm system, which saved us a lot on hardware cost. They've always been very responsive when I needed them to be, That;s not to say they aren't a "Good Value" or offer a good quality service, Which they do!

Good old-fashioned run business.reliable, professional and courteous. Worth trying them out if your not happy with your security company.

We have been very happy with our DeHart home coverage for the past 6 years. Their fast response and ability to seamlessly coordinate with our home-sitter have been of great value to us. When our system was compromised by a lightning strike one summer when we were not in residence, DeHart made every effort to repair the system in a timely manner.

This is the best alarm system that we've ever had. When we accidentally set off the alarm, they call immediately, ask for your password to make sure that you are the owner and if you need help with anything, they are there for you. Highly recommend.

We switched to Dehart when our previous company (one of the leaders in alarm companies) that we used for more than 20 years failed to upgrade our old equipment on the same terms they were providing to new customers. We wished we had switched to Dehart sooner. The service has been good with updated equipment and monitoring. Lots of efficient billing options.

Dehart Alarm Systems has serviced my alarm system for 7 years and they have always quickly responded to any needs that I have had for my alarm system during that time. The installation and service technicians are efficient, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They helped me with a sensor placement strategy that best secures my home. Scott was the technician here yesterday to replace a broken window sensor.

He replaced that non working one and then checked all the other window sensors and motion detector batteries. He said to do that once a year because of frequency of lightning strikes and power surges. Dehart is family owned. Would highly recommend.

Poor customer service for Manatee county customers. There were several mistakes made in the beginning of our contract. They refused to take responsibility for the mistakes. These mistakes had cost me time and money to correct. It seems that the only person that is able to make any decisions in our area is Lisa. Unfortunately Lisa is not one to find any viable solutions. Dehart alarm inflates material costs up to 300%. I purchased a home which the previous owner had used Dehart Alarm. Since the house was equipped with their system, I signed up to continue their service. The previous owner had 8 security cameras with an Watchnet monitor/recorder system. The system did not seem to be working. I could not get input from the cameras.

I called Dehart to fix it. The technician determined the monitor/recorder was not sending power to the Poe cameras. He estimated replacing the monitor/recorder would cost ~$2,000. He stated he had a cheaper way to fix the system. I accepted the offer. He then installed a Trendnet 10 port power switch and a Trendnet power line. This was connected to the Watchnet monitor/recorder.

At that same appointment I also asked the technician to install 3 additional wireless smoke detectors. Although I did not time him, he worked only a few hours. 3-4 by my estimate. The system did work but there were cables and power cords running all over my desk top. After a few weeks of staring at the mess and not being able to hide or make it cosmetically acceptable, I started to research a replacement system.

I found a monitor/recorder system from BackStreet which cost ~$450. I purchased and installed it myself. It works great and has all the features I needed. The monitor/recorder fits nicely in my middle desk drawer. My desk top is now void of all the clutter. I finally received an invoice from Dehart Alarm for the job. I was shocked to see a bill for $1,517.26.

The Trendnet 10 port power switch retails for $190. I was charged $350. The Honeywell wireless smoke detector they installed retail for $56. They charged me $150 each. They billed me for a Ubiquiti Outdoor Mesh. However, he installed a Trendnet power line. The Trendnet power line retails for $65. They charged me $168. Finally, I was charged $90 for a "Service Labor--Minimum Charge, plus an additional four "Service Labor" units at $90 each. I'm fairly certain the technician isn't earning $90 per hour in wages and benefits.

I spoke with their billing department and expressed my anger at the inflated materials cost. I was told they have overhead they need to cover. "Businesses all do the same thing." "The inflated charges were reasonable." I asked them to reconsider the charges. The person I spoke with said her manager agreed to reduce the bill by $150. I'm still waiting for the new invoice.

We have enjoyed Dehart alarm services for over 5 years and have been extremely satisfied with all aspects of their service. We will again contact Dehart when our new home is built. Their service has been most reliable. When communicating in person or on the phone, they have always been honest and professional. Their response time has been excellent. They are a high quality business.

Terrible company, not responsive, workers don't know what they are doing and the management does not care. Certainly far better choices out there. Had to hire another company to fix their problems on a new installation. Awful experience

Terrible company, incompetent installers, I had to hire another company to come and fix what they installed. Terrible customer service, salesman lied.

Yes Terrible customer service. I have called and talk to them numerous times to terminate our service with them. But still haven't terminated it after numerous requests. However still sending invoices even though we called them many times to terminate and disconnect. Additionally the people we have dealt with there are rude and very unprofessional. This is an awesome company. I had them install a top of the line security system in my home in Lakewood Ranch. Everything works beautifully. And they answered all my questions. Excellent support. I would and do highly recommend this company.
