Autumn 1977, Mark and Patricia O'Neil founded Woody's Fences. Their only assets were Mark's tape measure, saw and hammer. Recognized for their extraordinary quality and workmanship, they soon set a new standard for fence construction in Marin County. Since the day that he was able to swing a hammer Mark had worked in the family fence business.

In fact it was one of his dads clients that first called Mark 'Woody'. Building on the years of experience, he moved from the East Coast to Marin with his wife Pat together they began Woody's Fences. To supplement the cost of their educations Woody constructed fences on weekends.

Woody's Fences also do decks. This is the second time I've used Woody's Fences, the first was a fence and then a deck. Within two weeksI had a quote, deck design and was completed. They are knowledgable and do beautiful work. Woody works with his son and another gentleman. I highly recommend

Pros: These guys were responsive to my initial inquiry (where others were not). Provided me with a quote within a week and got the job done within 2 weeks. though I had to press them a bit on this. Family operation, friendly and knowledgeable. They fixed about 8 gates on my property. Cons: Fairly expensive. I had to ask them to return to fix 1-2 minor things. However, they returned within 24 hours to address everything. Overall, I would recommend.

Simply unresponsive and unprofessional. It has been 3 1/2 weeks since Woody came by my house to evaluate my fence and thus far, after several requests, I still have not received the promised price quotation.
