Slab Leaks
Report
Cracks in your walls or flooring, mildew or excessive moisture under your carpet, and hot spots in your flooring are all possible indications that you have a slab leak problem. If your slab is cracked, you are losing water, which results in a higher than normal water bill and could cause serious water damage to your property.

I always hesitate to leave a bad review, but sometimes it is warranted. It appears that I made a mistake by not checking Yelp before scheduling an appointment with Dependable Plumbing. Dependable is definitely not "dependable". I can't attest to their plumbing skills, because they never showed up, but can address their lack of common courtesy.
I was stood up three times in one day by "Dependable". I fully understand that things can come up, such as a flat tire, but there is no excuse to not call or text the scheduled client. So, while Chet may or may not be a good plumber, courteous & dependable definitely not.

Would give ZERO stars if I could I had a leak in the water service line in the yard. Called Dependable and made an APPOINTMENT. He didn't show. Showed up a day later and said he was busy. Meanwhile hired a leak detection company to pinpoint the leak location. Made another APPOINTMENT with Dependable to fix on Tuesday. Again, a no show on Tuesday. no call. no nothing.
On THURSDAY, a service guy called because he "couldn't remember the address".! My yard guy said a plumbing truck showed up. looked. and LEFT. I called the company to see what's up. He said, "He should be there fixing it now.". No. No he's not. He never showed up. So. I have cancelled the order with "Dependable" and will look for somebody else. I hope this review. and the other 1star review saves you some grief.

2 separate occasions had dependable plumbing respond promptly to separate problems. 1st one was a gas line leak from the meter to the house, they were able to abandon the old line and run a new one to the house from the meter and the 2nd was what we thought was a plugged vent line for the sewage, Dependable responded again and tried everything they could to diagnose the issue until they discovered there was a septic issue happening. Very pleased with their work!

One star is generous. My water heater went out and I was given a quote of $1,300 to replace it, because they knew what size water heater I needed as they had already replaced several in my town home complex. The water heater was too big. So, since my old water heater has already been removed, I asked how much the smaller water heater would cost. I was told, "the charge is $1,300." Ok, fine, since I was now in a bind.
They swapped out the water heaters, cleaned up after themselves, and left. When I went upstairs, they had dripped black water all over my carpet and had destroyed my attic access (which I didn't realize until months later when I had to go up there to retrieve something from storage and the access door wouldn't fit back into place). They then mailed me a late notice for a bill they never sent me.
When I called them the same day I received the late notice, I was told me the bill was marked as paid in full, so I told them I was the only person who would have paid it, and I had not done so, and they literally had to search for me in their system. They had me listed under the WRONG NAME. I then proceeded to tell them that since they removed the replacement water heater without giving me paperwork for the new one, I wasn't going to pay the bill until I received the model information so I could register for the warranty.
The owner finally came out and made a big deal about going up to the attic to read the model information, and then came downstairs and pulled the ACTUAL paperwork from his clipboard! I wrote him a check the same day. Two weeks later, after the check had already cleared, I received another late payment notice. When I called and told them I had already paid and the check had cleared and should NOT be receiving a late bill, I was told that they "just wanted to double check." This was a year ago.
In addition to the stains on my carpet and attic access damage (I never complained because I didn't want to ever deal with them again), a couple weeks ago I noticed that the grout in my upstairs bathroom is soft and can easily be wiped away. Apparently, because they didn't make sure the vent connector fit properly, water has been leaking from above the water heater, and has been dripping down through my upstairs bathroom and all the way down to my furnace on the first floor for a year.
I now have to pay another plumber to fix this work, AND I have to have a carpenter come out to assess the damage to all my woodwork to make sure it hasn't completely rotted through, AND make sure I don't have mold everywhere. This company is completely unprofessional, and will end up costing you a fortune in repair work after they've finished the job.

They never showed up at the appointment time as scheduled (10am-Noon). I left multiple messages that were never returned that day. I even spoke to Mrs. Jernigan at 1:40pm who assured me that he ( Her Husband) would be there in 25 minutes. Well nobody ever came to my home that day. First thing I did the next day was to call and again left a message. About an hour I received as call from her and she called her Company "Un-Dependable Plumbing"! Well she was right on that!
