We called Green Planet to have our 40-gallon gas water heater replaced. The work they did looks good and I haven't experienced any issues, however I found their pricing to be $500-600 more than I would have expected for the job.
Based on asking friends/co-workers on their replacement costs most ran between $1000-1300 (for normal tank replacement).
When we called Green Planet we were told over the phone it would be around $1000 which was inline with my expectations. However after the installer showed up the quote was $1500 for the tank/install. Plus he recommended replacing the small pressure tank on the top for around $200. So total price was $1700 and after tax just over $1800. When we questioned the difference between his quote and the phone quote he said they were likely talking about just tank costs. Looking up the Rheem prog40s-38n rh62 model tank they installed it appears to cost around $600, so their labor install cost was about $900.
This is in a 10-year old house with the tank in the garage, so there weren't any complications or modernizations that needed to happen, just a basic swap of the tanks and configuration. So if I would summarize my experience. It would be they do quality work, but seem to charge much higher than average.

OVERALL: 9.7/10. Near Labour Day 2021, I noticed that there were puddles of water in my second bathroom, and freaked out - I couldn't tell if it was from a pipe burst, a ceiling leak, or something worse. It turned out (after a lot of self-experimentation) that it was from the toilet (most likely the feed that goes into the toilet bowl itself) -- since it was from the original condo build in 2003, and this was 2021, so.
I guess toilets can stop working too? In any case, I had to scramble to get someone to fix it since I was afraid the leak would affect the floor beneath me (given how terribly this building was constructed, I wouldn't be surprised if the "between floor" spaces had issues). I bought my own toilet from Home Depot (thankfully they had some toilets, but I didn't get a water-saving one like I wanted because, despite the rebate, I don't actually pay for water in my building, so \_()_/), and set out to find a plumber to install it.
I tried to make sure I found a local business to support, so off I went! 1) VALUE FOR MONEY: 9/10. All things considered this turned out to be the cheapest option I had, since the other quote (Joe's 2 sons plumbing) was almost double what this one was. It came out to $523 (after tax) for labour and installation (of customer-provided toilet); the cost came out to be the same for either repair or replace ($375 for an onsite visit), but I needed to also change the angle stop for an extra $100 (labour inclusive).
After tax, that seemed pretty reasonable, since I didn't know how to do this myself (Eero had mentioned it was pretty easy, but if it was my first time installing a toilet. maybe I should watch first). 2) QUALITY: 10/10. So far, no further leaks. I had a smarthome leak sensor near the toilet just in case, but I moved it elsewhere in the home as I realized these guys were legit, and I'm very happy with this off my back! 3) SERVICE: 10/10.
The workmanship was solid - the most impressive thing I noticed was that I didn't need to move my over-toilet shelf to accommodate the plumbing work. He simply worked around it, and installed the toilet successfully! The plumber's name was "Eero" - he was no-nonsense, and even answered some other quick questions about my hot water heater that I had concerns about.
The full turnaround was only six days, from "initial contact" to "work completed" (including a site visit to give me a free quote). I contacted them on September 3rd, and they completed the work on September 9, 2021. Jeremiah was responsive and explained everything in a very thorough and articulate manner (especially given my lack of understanding in the plumbing space).

I finally have amazing water pressure thanks to Green Planet! As a single Mom, I always get a bunch of quotes on home projects and Green Planet was right in line with other quotes for a full house re-pipe. I felt comfortable asking questions and the team from Green Planet was great at explaining issues and coming up with ideas. They worked hard for several days and navigated some surprises extremely well.
They changed out faucets and snaked drains as needed even though that wasn't part of the planned work. Also, on a total side note, my fence gate in the backyard was falling off the post and they just got some big bolts and fixed it for me. That was super thoughtful and just the kind of guys they are. I would highly recommend Green Planet and would have them come again for any future plumbing needs.

I've been getting a lot of quotes and calling a lot of companies to fix issues with my home lately. I've met a lot of untrustworthy, pushy salesmen. When I found out I needed a plumber due to a broken pipe in my crawlspace, I was less than eager to start calling around for more quotes. I found Green Planet from a few recommendations I saw on the West Seattle Facebook group.
I emailed them through their website at 11pm Wednesday night. They had emailed me back by 8am and had two guys out here by 9am. The guys were professional, kind and obviously knew what they were doing. The quote to fix the repair was reasonable. They gave me a second quote to fix another problem they found but were honest about it not being an urgent fix.
I'm tight on cash right now, so having this honesty, with no pitchy salesman act was so refreshing to me. They fixed the issue and were done before 11am. As a female homeowner, it's really common to get taken advantage of and I cannot thank Green Planet enough for being a stand up company and getting the job done quicker than I expected. I will definitely be calling them for all my future plumbing needs!

Amazing business. Roto rooter declined to repair my sewer line, I called Green Planet Plumbing and they did repair it in a short notice and with a very good price. Recommended them to my friends, and they did jet cleaning of a sewer line, that they were thinking needs a replacement and saved tons of money

This is the second opportunity I've had to review Green Planet and I couldn't be happier to post this. These guys have been great. I'm going through a remodel of my home and these guys came out on a Saturday to replace my water main. They just finished up with a complete re-pipe of my house to get rid of the old galvanized pipes. The service level has been great - I know that they've been busy, but they were able to work my project into the schedule and I have clean water flowing with great pressure now!
I have referred these guys to other people in my neighborhood and network, and they have all been pleased. I'll recommend them again and I'll have them back to work here when my kitchen gets done later this year. The price was beyond fair for the job that they did, in my opinion.

Sad. Had a good experience with them previously (see review), which is why I called them for an estimate to replace my entire sewer line. They neither showed up, nor called, until the following morning. My time is important to me, and I made time to be there when they promised to show up, but apparently my time is not important to them. I will find someone else.

I recently used Green Planet Plumbing and Sewer to replace my water heater. This was not a straight forward job. The water heater was tucked into a small alcove in my utility room and blocked by a small cabinet (with a sink) and a washing machine. The old 50-gallon unit had a power vent. I called numerous plumbing companies, including the largest in Seattle.
I was faced with companies who: couldn't come out and provide me with a bid until the following week, gave me astronomical bids, told me certain things were not possible, or insisted that I move the sink cabinet and the washing machine. Really? One plumber said the job was too "messy" and wasn't interested. When my service technician, Justin, provided me with the bid, he suggested an idea others hadn't and was able to do the job without moving a cabinet that every other plumber claimed needed to be moved. Justin performed the service today - and I couldn't be happier.
He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, conscientious, and personable. I would also like to recognize Jeremiah. Due to the schedule, I would need to wait a few days for a new water heater. Knowing I had not had hot water for days, Jeremiah offered to do his best to see what he could do. Through his unprompted efforts, I had my new water heater the next day.
I am so pleased with my service that I brought over a neighbor who has rental houses, to meet Justin and asked for some additional cards to give to my friends in the neighborhood. I'll be taking a bath tonight!

We called Green Planet Plumbing with a backed up toilet and sink. They sent a team the same day and they were able to clear the line and get us flowing. Justin and helper were fast and courteous, and even cleaned up the entire mess. The price was very fair considering the dirty work being done. We will definitely use them again.

After calling several companies these guys were able to come out TODAY! They listened to the status of what the previous plumbers said and provided a great alternative to a full replacement. They were able to unclogged by old pipes and although more money than I hoped they did a very clean and honest job. It was a good value and they were polite and gave me options. I would totally recommend their services and I am happy with the results. Amen!

This company was AMAZING! The guys who did work at my place back in April in West Seattle Went above and beyond to help fix my issues, troubleshooted new ones & did not try to sell me on anything i did NOT need. Highly recommend! Thanks Green Planet for being honest & Fair! Wish they did biz in Florida bc we had a horrid $17,000 & 5 week mess w/ a plumbing co. here! so hard to find solid contractors in this day & age unfortunately! Sorry took so long to post this review, was unaware it was still sitting in my drafts!

I recently had my water main replaced by Green Planet Plumbing in West Seattle. They were so professional and really understood the scope of the work. Great to communicate with, did the work in the time frame expected, showed up right on schedule, and were very friendly to work with. Justin was in charge of the project and did a great job from start to finish.
He explains things in a way that's easy to understand even if you don't know anything about plumbing (like me) and his crew all worked very hard alongside him. I would recommend them for any plumbing needs and do business with them again.

We had Green Planet Plumbing replace part of our sewer and we are very happy with the work that was done. They were professional and timely while always communicating what was going on. We had several other consultations and found Green Planet to be very reasonable with their quote and their prices. Other plumbing companies were adamant that everything needed to be replaced, however Green Planet gave us options and the consequences of each option. We thoroughly enjoyed the owner and the workers and will definitely use them if we ever need additional plumbing services.

Green Planet Plumbing came to our rescue, felt it necessary to give them a review. They were able to squeeze me in for an emergency main line backup, what a mess. Gabe and Tyler showed up and instantly were able to troubleshoot the system and went to work. They found a couple of off-sets in our sewer line and provided us with a proposal. They got us flowing and when it backed up again a couple of weeks later, they were able to schedule the repair the very next day because we were out of service. Work was excellent, we have a go-to-plumber! Thank you Green Planet Plumbing!

Great service, great price, extremely friendly. We needed the plumbing under the sink rebuilt after installing new counters. The first company we called quoted such a laughably high fee that we called Green Planet. They showed up same day, provided complete service, at 1/5 the cost of the first quote. We have our go-to plumber in West Seattle now.

We were able to have Green Planet come out late in the day, after our guy, Marcus, had already been working long hours and driving in traffic to get to our house. He assessed the blockage in our main line, verified how to best attack it. He did a fantastic job not leaving our house dirty, always communicating what he was doing and making sure we knew hydrojetting would be loud. Honest, polite, dedicated, I'd use Green Planet again without hesitation. Marcus is the genuine type of person I'd happily go have a beer with. Nice guy, hard working, honest, no BS.

The contractor used Green Plumbing when we remodeled our house over 8 years ago. I had a break in what I thought was my sewer line and called Green Planet and 2 other companies for a quote. 1 came in over $10k, but wasn't exactly sure what the issue was, another said $3.5k and was pretty sure they new what the problem was. When Justin came out and assessed it, he knew exactly what the issue was and it was significantly less. 2 months now and no further issues. I'm glad I went with them and didn't rip up my yard only to find out that wasn't the issue!

We chose Green Planet as they were the first available to come out. Others were a 3-5 business days out. WIth plumbing issues, it's nice to have someone come next day! Marcus is quite knowledgeable and explains things in lamens terms. He was honest and, as others have mentioned, he provided us with tips and tricks for water/plumbing for future use!
I also really appreciated that he let us do some of the manual labor (excavating out landscaping where the pipe had burst) instead of charging us to do it. They charge $69 for the estimate and that goes to your total bill. Unlike other plumbing companies they charge by the project, not by the hour. In some cases this is good (i.e. If the service work goes on way longer than you expect, you're not out more than what they quoted) but in others it's bad (how do I know that the project price is legitimate).
In our case we had about a 2 hour job and the project price seemed 25% higher than what I'd expect. However, Green Planet was negotiable and provided me with a new rate. All in all, we feel confident our problem was fixed. Thanks Green Planet for your prompt service, honesty, and tips!

I have been working with Tyler and his team on my small business remodel for what seems like years. No, actually it has been years. Tyler toured and pulled county records on many properties I had been looking to purchase. He went over all the options with me for every building and for every idea I had. When we finally found THE property, made the purchase, and started the construction process Green Planet Plumbing was with me every step of the way. Answering questions, turning off the water supply (after being requested the morning of), talking with the manufacturer of the specialized equipment we needed installed, and helping us make the most money conscious, educated decision possible. Our relationship with Green Planet Plumbing has been stellar. Wonderful, locally owned business that happily works with other small businesses!

I would highly recommend Green Planet Plumbing. Marcus was great! We were really lucky to be able to get them out on short notice. We called with a backed up sink that kept making strange gurgling noises and they were able to squeeze us in that morning. When they took a look they explained the issue (likely clog in the main line) and the plan of attack as well as giving an upfront cost estimate.
Marcus was very conscientious about working in our home and being considerate of neighbors.
He was able to fix the problem, explain the issue and explain the division of responsibility between a condo owner and the condo association so that we could request reimbursement. He even gave us some tips for keeping our line as clean as possible and avoiding cost in the future. Thank you!

Please use Green Planet for any plumbing issues! I had a horrible experience with Beacon Plumbing last week. Marcus & Justin with Green Planet came out and did what needed to be done and explained everything to me. I don't have enough money to pay for the permanent fix right now, so they went the extra step to get my line as clean as possible to buy me a bit more time. Great service, good prices, and they're honest. I highly, highly recommend these guys!

Green Planet was awesome in getting our complicated water heater issue fixed. It was a busy time with lots of pipes breaking in the deep freeze. Although it took a few days to get scheduled, they were excellent keeping in touch and following up. They did the repairs in a few hours and for a great price.

These guys were great. We had some small things in our condo unit, rather than a full on large commercial job. But they got someone out here quickly, and they were clear and honest about the costs and they did what they said they would do. I had a much better experience than I've had with plumbers ever before.

I had been avoiding contacting a plumber for my chronically slow bathroom drain because of my neighbor's experience with her drain and other stories I had heard. I was afraid that there must be roots or something else obstructing the drain and getting it cleared was going to be a Big Deal. I contacted Tyler based on the good reviews I saw here.

Can't say enough good about these guys. We had a clog that was inaccessible by snake or scope (due to funky plumbing in an old house). After multiple attempts our other plumber recommended these guys. They were awesome. Polite, professional, expedient. They had to break through our basement floor as well as dig a hole in the yard. 4 guys worked hard to get this all done in 1.5 days.
