Beware, they do not take responsibility for their mistakes. We paid them to inspect of sewer lateral. They assured us it was in great condition (in writing). Turns out they only inspected the first 40% of the lateral. The rest of the 60 feet of lateral were close to collapsing. We found out the truth of the condition of the lateral after we bought the property.
To date they refuse to make good on their assurance that the lateral was "in great condition" and have refused to make good on their incompetent technician's inspection. They gave this assurance in writing. In effect, they lied to us in order to make a few hundred dollars. We relied on their inspection results (they did not even inspect the damaged 60' long area of the sewer lateral!) As a result we have spent about $30,000 on unexpected repairs.
When your employee lies about their work and it causes damages to your client, you should take responsibility for the damages. Apparently Boyd Plumbing recently was acquired by Bonney Plumbing. But they operate under both names. From 3/1/22: I have been calling and leaving messages for 3 work days for the manager to talk to me about a serious problem with a previous service.
I was given the names of Nick Camuso and his boss Sam. Neither one has bothered to even give me the courtesy of a return phone call. Their website presents the company a a caring and responsive company. This is not my current experience. Four years ago we bought a home in Sacramento. We hired Boyd Plumbing (Boyd was recently acquired by Bonney Plumbing, Electrical, Heating & Air) to video our sewer lateral.
The tech was prompt, inspected the lateral, and notified us that the sewer lateral was in good condition. Three weeks ago we had a major problem with the sewer lateral - so far a $10,000 emergency service bill with an estimate of $19,000 addition in repairs. Turns out the sewer lateral is 130' long and the inspecting plumber (4 years earlier) had only videoed 45' feet of it.
It turns out that the last 90' were not in good shape and need replacing 4 years ago. The plumber never told us that he only videoed 1/3 of the lateral. Had he videoed the entire lateral, we could have required the seller to repair the lateral before we bought the property. Now that option is lost. The lack of response by Bonney Plumbing, Electrical, Heating & Air is not appreciated.

I had satisfactorily used Boyd more than once in the past but the company has been absorbed/merged by Bonney Plumbing. I got an estimate from them but it was over $4000 more than the work done by a different and better small company, First Call Plumbing. Read their reviews and call them! I think the reviews for Boyd should be taken down since that entity no longer exists.

The technician (Colton) was nice and knowledgeable. I have had a previous good experience with Boyd. Colton listened and made good suggestions and answered a question on another matter. The problem started when I received the estimate. Changing a shower valve and setting a tub-over $3300. Almost $2000 for the tub alone. I was stunned. Even if it took 2 full eight hour days, that's over $200 per hour. Needless to say I found another plumber for half the price.

Team leader Jeremy and associate Jacob were superb. Braving small crawl-ins, snakes, mud, broken faucets, a faulty PRV, and more, they found and fixed the problem, even staying til sunset one day to be able to get it done and get water. Great attitude, was on time, I always knew when they were coming, and they explained things clearly to me, a non-plumber.

Worker arrived approached without mask - we were okay; but, I thought should approach house with mask; no estimate, minor part that was $37 from Home Depot; I had already disassembled the handle; it took worker less than 5 minutes to replace - we lost a screw to reattach valve handle which I was left with that additional problem to solve on my own.
We both feel it is criminal to charge $402 for this very minor service - will never use this company again and will make that clear to friends and colleagues! Feel very angry and violated about this company!

We had a leak coming from upstairs. Boyd plumbing was able to send Sean out within a few hours. We were super impressed that we could get same-day service. Sean was very professional, courteous, spent a lot of time diagnosing and explaining the problem to us. I highly recommend them. Service: Find & repair leak

Everyone we dealt with was super nice and very professional, starting with Sue on the phone, by phone/email/text or in person. Vanesa H and Jacob M. made the experience feel like we were their favorite customers. The work was completed quickly and professionally. Rather than try to do extra work that I would have to pay for Jacob advised against the costly extra work as it was not necessary at this time. This is the second time I have used Boyd and when I have another issue I will not hesitate to call up Boyd Plumbing. Thank you everyone.

Had Boyd Plumbing come check out our gas starter in our wood burning fireplace. Zeb was professional, explained everything clearly and in an easy to understand way (plus all of the cats and dogs loved him, so he is good peoples.) I hope I don't have to call again but if I do, I will use their services again.

Plumbers. On December 18th of 2020, eight months ago, I called Boyd Plumbing to fix the leak under my sink. The "so called plumber" arrived took a look and went to Home Depot for materials. He then "fixed" my sink for a total of $425.00, which I payed. Yesterday the sink began to leak in exactly the same place. My son, not a plumber, looked under it, went to Home Depot and spent $7.00 for parts, and fixed the sink properly. Boy do I feel ripped off by Boyd Plumbing. Don't use this company for anything.

Called Boyd Plumbing to get a professional second opinion and estimate to address possible high house water pressure and minor water hammer issues. Jacob was outstanding and exceeded my expectations. He basically told me that I didn't have a problem. The pressure was normal and the water hammer was nothing to be concerned about. I appreciate the fact that he didn't try to promote unnecessary repairs that another plumber had erroneously identified. I will definitely use Boyd Plumbing in the future for my plumbing needs.

We reached out to Boyd because our 50 gallon electric water heater stopped producing the same quantity of hot water as before (my wife likes hot baths in her new tub!). The "technician" (Boyd's doesn't call their guys "plumbers") that responded was courteous and professional.but seemed to be very inexperienced! For the prices Boyd's charges, their "technicians" should be seasoned pros!
When touching the outside of the heater tank, we felt that the upper half was warm, and the lower half was room temperature. He seemed to be perplexed as to how that could be! His first recommendation, before any diagnostics, was to replace the tank at a cost of about $2,500! Yikes! I pressed him into doing some testing of the components to see if there was something simpler causing the problem, .he suggested that we drain the tank to see if there was any sediment build up since the tank is 9 years old, and has never drained.
His fee was $250.00 to attach a hose to the bit coming out of the bottom of the tank, and turn a stop cock a quarter turn with a screwdriver! Ouch! It took me a minute to agree, because that seemed like a LOT of money for such a simple task, but I felt that maybe I was paying for his experience and he would be able to tell by the run off if I had a problem.
Net result.clean water.no sediment. $250.00.cha-ching! The next thing he thought of, after I asked a LOT of questions, was that maybe the heating element was out. He pulled out a electric current tester and saw that power was being provided to the element. He seemed to have hit a roadblock. When I started reading the spec label pasted to the unit, I saw where it mentioned Upper and LOWER heating elements!
He had NO IDEA there was a 2nd element in the lower half of the unit! He unscrewed the cover plates for both elements, and it looked like the lower element and saw that it wasn't conducting electricity properly. At that point the suggestion was to replace both heating elements. The cost of heating elements is about $20.00 each. He charged $657.00 to unscrew the old ones and provide new ones! Again, I felt that the labor charge would be justified by experience. Nope!
When he completed the job, he knocked at my door and said that, unfortunately, the replacement/repair didn't work in that the upper half of the tank still felt hot, and the lower was at room temperature. At this point, I was feeling a bit taken. I had just approved almost $900 in "repairs", and my original problem had NOT been solved. I asked him to retest the electrical current to make sure both elements were getting power.
When doing so, he accidentally touched two hot leads and created a huge spark and crackling sound! It surprised him (and me), and his immediate response was "that's where I draw the line". He stopped doing any other tests, replaced the covers and billed me $757.00 for the efforts (he discounted $150.00 from the original flush quote). After he left, I was pretty dismayed to have spent so much money and still had a defective Water Heater.
I reached out to a friend for a referral to another plumber to get a 2nd opinion. And here's where it get's MORE interesting! In the morning, my wife tried to take a shower, and she had NO hot water! The Heater wasn't working at all! The 2nd plumber showed up in the afternoon and ran a couple of simple electric current tests. We were getting power from the main fuse to the Disconnect Box.but NO juice from the Disconnect Box to the unit!
When the Boyd's "technician" shorted the system the day before, he blew BOTH fuses in the Disconnect! I don't know if he even knew there was a Disconnect Box, because he had never mentioned it to me. Because he was so surprised and had stopped the job, he didn't bother to complete the electrical test of all components of the system!
The 2nd plumber showed me how to replace the fuses in the Box and test the flow of electricity. I ran up to Lowe's and bought 2 new fuses for $3.00 and a tester pen for $15.00. I replaced the fuses and low and behold.power to BOTH heating elements! The rest of the story is that both the top and bottom of my tank feel hot to the touch, thus both elements are doing their jobs! So.
I am not complaining about spending money to having a PRO fix my issue, but when I pay a PRO, I expect the end result to be a problem solved! Before I am told I need a new water heater, I would have expected that the technician do a few basic steps to see if a simpler fix could be had! The 2nd plumber did say that Boyd's pays its Technicians by commission, so that may explain why the initial suggestion was to replace!
As a footnote, the 2nd plumber DID NOT bill be for a service call since all he had to do was check the electrical current and the conductivity of the fuses. Guess who I am going to call when I have replace my 9 year old Water Heater! Don't be afraid to use Boyd's, but expect to pay up and ask for experience!

In the course of doing some other work around my house it was discovered that I had a major back up underneath my house from the mainline running to the city sewer. It was disgusting. I was referred to Eric Boyd buy a different contractor. I called and he was out first thing the following morning. He worked his butt off getting the line cleaned out of tree roots from underneath my house all the way to the city sewer line.
He was friendly considerate and explained everything as he was doing it. Plumbing is one of those crafts that always mystified me but Eric made a point of making sure that he explained everything clearly and succinctly. Couldn't have asked for a better person to do the job.

I was most impressed with the knowledge, experience and dedication to perform a perfect a job by Jeremy. He explained all the options for the plumbing tasks and issues that I wanted completed. The best choices were selected, a reasonable estimate was given and the job was completed very professionally. I would definitely recommend Jeremy, and I will probably be calling upon him again for other plumbing jobs that I need to have done.

My daughter accidently flushed the top part of her siphon hose from her fish tank down our toilet. It got stuck in the neck of the toilet. We could not get it to come out or go all the way down so I called Boyd Plumbing. They had their techician, Sean, come out the same day. Try as he might, he could not get it out either. He gave us 3 options to remedy the problem.
Since our toilet was old, we decided to get a new one. We bought the one pictured, Sean came out the next morning and removed the old one and installed the new one. The price quoted and charged, which ended up the same, I think was reasonable. Now, we have a new toilet that will last us another 40 years. I would use Boyd Plumbing again for any other plumbing problem we may occur.

Zeb was the Best! I was searching for someone to add gas lines for my pool. Then I found Boyd Plumbing. Zeb was very knowledgeable explained how he would do it. Walked me thru the whole process. I was given the quote same day. He was so patience as he helped me with getting a permit for my plot plan. Very responsive. He even contacted the city to verify they were on the same page. Zeb came and worked hard (took 4 days) always make sure he wasn't in the way. Letting me know every step and where they were at the end of each day.
He wear a mask and abided by the COVID-19. I'm very pleased. He is a my new go to for Plumbing. My husband was even sad he had to leave. But he will be back to to hook up my gas lines in a few weeks. Yay!

Very disappointed with Jeremy and the office staff at Boyd Plumbing! Forget about customer support from the aloof office staff. If you have a concern they blow you off and blame the technician. They say if you have an issue contact the tech that came out to perform the work! So be aware that the front office staff in my opinion are simple minded dispatchers and could care less about customer service, quality work performed, or warranty support after the sale!
Here are the details of my very disappointing service on my leaky water heater, the second one on four years which both were AO Smith water heaters! Jeremy at Boyd replaced both. The second water heater was still under warranty and here's where the problem started, after the installation Jeremy completely let me down with his guidance on how to claim a warrenty with AO Smith.
His recommendation on how to deal with the warranty claim was totally wrong! His bad advice actually voided my warrenty! Jeremy cost me over $650 with his bad advice! Hey Jeremy and the staff at Boyd plumbing. bye-bye. I will never call you again, in my humble opinion think you guys suck!

I contacted Boyd after being referred by the trenchless company. I explained that I had a driveway drain that needed clearing. I was advised that they do clear these types of drains and can have someone over right away. I was impressed. I was told it would be a $39 charge and that would be deducted off the work they did. When Jeremy came out he saw that the job was one that would require a diesel pump to clear. the cost of this was a lot more than was expected and could not be completed at the time. Jeremy could see that I was disappointed and made sure that I felt I was treated fairly.
He took the extra time to ensure that I was happy and ensured I felt as though I was treated fairly. This in itself is great business practice and very appreciated. Even though I did not get work done. the customer service was above standard.

Boyd Plumbing came to replumb our entire home. Sonny had been to the house a few weeks ago to repair a leak in the master shower. We then had another leak in the spare bathroom shower. We asked about just replacing the entire house. The cost was VERY reasonable, the same as our neighbor paid with someone else a few years ago. Sonny and Jacob came and were so polite, respectful of our home and our schedule.
I am a real estate agent and needed a plumber for one of my clients and Sonny showed up. He did a great job and the cost was more than reasonable. They not only do the job they were asked but make sure there are on other problems lurking (I don't crawl under homes). I have no hesitation hiring Boyd Plumbing for my clients or for us. AND.they are available pretty quickly. Thank you, Boyd Plumbing. I

This company has my business for life. After another local plumbing company made the matter worse and was going to leave us without water for two weeks, Boyd plumbing and Israel came to the rescue and fixed the main water line. Working all day to dig the trench, the new work is clean and safe. Very professional and also empathetic to our plight. Next he fixed two vanity sinks and faucets and gave us a temporary sink with dishwasher and garbage disposal hook up.
He will come back when the kitchen is nearing completion to make that sink and such permanent. Israel is also putting in a utility sink in the garage. At this point, I'm looking for things for him to do because he is just that good. Highly recommend. Hire them today.

Eric was amazing and he has a great disposition and skills for this line of work. I now consider him my plumber. I found him very ethical and he spoke highly of Mr. Boyd and how he treats his employees. On top of that, he had a ton of ideas on how I could do the things I wanted around the yard in the future--Much appreciated. By the way did I mention his quote to add a water line into my garage was less than half of another company's quote that came out? Score!. Like Eric said, you don't have to get the highest price for every single job to earn peoples' business forever.

My toilet seemed to be leaking from around the base, especially in front. September 10, 2020 I had a "diagnostic" appointment with Boyd Plumbing after paying $39. for this visit. The "technician" (why don't they call them plumbers?) arrived and I took him into the bathroom and stated that I thought it was leaking in front from around the base.
I was thinking maybe the seal was worn out. The technician leaned over and touched the floor behind the toilet and immediately diagnosed it as (quote from written estimate) "Emergency stop replacement at bathroom with shower: Customer has a leaky emergency stop. Boyd Plumbing will drain water system, and replace emergency stop and supply." Time needed 1 hr, Price: $375 -$50 discount for an amount of $325.
He then proceeded to try to upsell me toward the purchase of a new toilet. "Customer has moisture at the front of the toilet. The emergency stop is leaking in on and off position. However toilet might have a hairline crack. Boyd Plumbing will remove old toilet.etc." That cost would be $575 after a discount of $100 for bundling of services. So by the time the job would have been completed it would have taken 2 hrs and cost me nearly $1,000.
The technician never examined the inside of the toilet tank. The technician never got down and really checked out the toilet or touched the bottom of the tank. It was as if he had a regular answer no matter what the problem and his job was to try to sell me as many services and products as possible. As it turns out the ONLY problem with my toilet was that the toilet flush valve needed replacing, the gasket at the bottom was worn out.
It wasn't leaking from the emergency stop nor does my toilet have a hairline crack, it was leaking from the bottom of the tank below the valve. The Toilet Flush Valve repair kit cost me $20.23 at the hardware store and was a 15 minute job. And I wasted $39.00 paying BOYD PLUMBING for a lack of real diagnostics and who only wanted to sell me services and products I did not need. I don't know how other plumbing companies work but I sure can't recommend Boyd.

They are always amazing! I have used Boyd plumbing three times and every time they never fail to amaze with how quick and efficient they are. They are also friendly and professional and best of all know what they are doing. Super skilled to address any task! Their price is also fair but you know you will get good service and a job well done. Thank you! They have helped with clean out, clogged drains and most recently a leaky valve.

I am so appreciative of the efforts that Colton, Jacob, and Jeremy provided with getting through my plumbing disaster. I originally called for a backup in the bathroom. Colton was very thorough in his checks and discovered a much bigger problem with broken pipes under the house and in the wall. He took charge of the project and provided quality recommendations based on information he was given by the city.
After some discovery again with the city, we found a major backup in the line to the city sewage. In the end we hired Boyd again for a 2 way cleanout and a new line from the house to the city line. Jeremy took this on and did a super job.

Jake from Boyd Plumbing came out today and did a small plumbing job at my place. He was very thorough and professional/methodical in his approach and gave me written receipts and quotes for everything. The. price was very high ($250 even) for roughly an hour - 1.5 hour job though. I had to go through since I needed to get the job done fast. Overall high quality work, high priced.
I would call them again if I had some long/difficult jobs - that absolutely require more thoroughness and quality (eg bathtub or toilet replacement or major remodeling jobs) and probably go with a general purpose handyman for smaller jobs.

I recently moved into a new condo only to find out that our water heater was no longer working. I called up Boyd Plumbing to schedule someone to come out and give me an estimate on the new water heater that same day. They were surprisingly quick and explained to me exactly what was needed to fix the water heater. I thought I would be spending. hundreds of dollars to replace this thing, but I was told the only thing that needed to be replaced was the wiring to the thermostat! Great service overall, I know who to call now if I am ever in need of plumbing work again!

I had a leak in my upstairs bathroom and boyd came out and fixed the problem! Since then im having my bathroom remodeled and other plumbers told me that i paid waaaay too much for the repair! They charged me. $975 for the repair that 3 yes 3 other companies told me was a $250 job at most. It took boyd about an hour to do the work and according to the other companies the parts cost about $25 dollars so i guess boyd plumbers get $ 950 an hour! I will never use boyd again nor will i refer them to anyone. Just be aware sharks are out there
