Small business owners - Beware! Small business owner needing kennels and decided to go with Metalink since they have been in the custom kennel business for over 20 years. Started talking to them in March, took weeks for drawings, finally signed contract 6/1 and went to pick up kennels 9/15. My contractors were ready to install next day. Panel were cut short, including metal and HDPE dividers, metal rods to secure to floor/walls also short.

Front arches of the small kennels only had one welded foot for attachment! Fix offered by sales was to install short and modify basically everything and they would come and fix it - move everything around! So extra holes in everything and filler! Not to mention I would have to pay my contractors extra to make it work! This was for 8 custom kennels at a cost of ~$9K!

The only thing they got right was the color of the powder coat. The owners did not call me until I called them - Bill apologized, admitted it was not managed well and did give me a refund-said materials would be picked up in day or two. I called Bill again about an hour later and left a message - asked him for a fix of this mess - now 9 months have passed and steel prices are higher and I don't have anything for my business!

He NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I called his front desk and asked them and was told he was on vacation. I told the sales guy too I wanted help and still NO CALL. I got a check in the mail dated 10/5 and sales guy came to get the materials 10/11. What a joke this company is! If you are a small business they don't care and I highly advise moving on. They have wasted my time and costing us money. I rarely write a poor review but this is unacceptable.

Price was 20+% higher than the quote! My sister had the same experience with her bill 20+% higher. The excuse my bill was higher was that the chair was really old and crusty. I'd have bought that excuse except my sister's items were not that old at all! The Estimator isn't new on the job, no excuse for IMO. The work was very good in both cases, the people that work there are very nice.just expect to get jacked at the end!

The product itself was excellent; however I had continual lack of communication issues with the project manager as well as significant delays in the completion of the job.

The best power coating work in all of Austin, hands down. I've been through a few companies, and no one does it as good as Metalink. If I need to drop off something small, and I happen in to be in Northwest Austin, they've saved me from having to drive out to the Southeast side of Austin. If it's a big job, then yeah, it's worth the drive, even if it's an hr away, but it's about 30min away from me and I'm near the Domain.

Not sure what happened with Howard, but the place did a great job and did it super fast! Price was higher than quoted, but the job got done and got done well.

The work environment is the worst. There is a red head lady that works in the office that sleeps with all of the shop help, they are all drinking at lunch, and the turnover of employees is super high.

No problems what-so-ever. Everything went according to schedule and workmanship was very good. I have another project in mind and will definitely use Metalink again.

Installed the two small chain link fences in my side yard with gates. Instead of putting the metal posts in with cement they simply pounded the poles into the sandy soil. The gates started to sag in less then 6 months. Beware.

Always a good experience working with the crew over at Metalink, very professional and have a good to communicate with. Heather, Alan, Billy, and the rest of the crew have always done right by me, they'll do the same for you. Recommended!

Exceptional job done. Very professional. Very friendly. Done quickly - one yard-long fence and two side gates done within one day - and very nicely done! Would recommend highly.

I used metalink exclusively for my powder coating needs at the company I previously worked for. Gene always quoted me a fair price, a realistic time frame and I found that if Matt did the job for me it was spot on 99% of the time. In my current life I find I have powder coating needs from time to time. They put a beautiful black powder coat finish on the exterior of my hundred year old clawfoot tub before I took it to have the interior restored. I have several more projects coming up and there's no one else I would trust to handle it. I use them in spite of the fact that I now have to drive an hour to get to there.

Joe the installer was great and did a great job. Chuck at Metalink was also very helpful. I would recommend them to others.

Had my Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 wheels powder coated here late last November. They looked gorgeous when I got them but the powder coat never stuck well and chipped even with basic driving and has since only gotten worse.

I was looking for a fencing company to do a small residential job at my house and had no idea who to go to. One day I was at a baseball field that was entirely fenced in and I noticed how nice a job it was, so I saw the Metalink placard on the fence and gave them a call. Jimmy Navarro and I discussed my needs, I sent him a diagram I made and he sent me a quote in only a day or so.

After I gave them a deposit, I was scheduled a couple of weeks later. On the day of the install, Jimmy arrived to introduce himself and the install crew followed right behind. We all went over the job, and the crew got to work. The men worked in the heat of a July day and kept a steady pace. Eight hours after arriving, they had finished and cleaned up everything.

The fence was just a vinyl-coated chain link, but it looks wonderful. Their work was flawless -- on time, done to spec., and without a single glitch. This whole thing turned out to be the easiest, most care-free experience I had ever had with a contractor.

My husband and I were dealing with Rusty. He was very quick to respond to my request. They did a wonderful job on the fence. I would definitely recommend their service to anyone who needs a fence! Thanks!

GOOD FENCES MAKE GOOD NEIGHBORS. It's an old saying but it' still true to this day. My 17 year old privacy fence needed replacement and it was just a matter of time before a strong wind might come along and blow it down. I called the original fence company as well as another BIG BOX fence company for estimates. Marry Ross came out and asked us about the KIND of fence we wanted.

We explained this was our "forever house" and we wanted a PREMIUM fence with all the bells and whistles including 3 gates. She helped us with suggestions and even broke down the cost of each side so that our neighbors could pay a part of the new fence on their side. Her quote as WELL under the prices of the others and my new fence looks like a million bucks.

Everything was done as contracted and Mary Ross was out no less than 5 times during the two day job to insure it was done to our satisfaction. The grass ma be greener on the other side of the fence but stay on THIS side and call Metalink Fencing and ask for Mary Ross.

I went to Metalink and spoke to Alan about fabricating a custom telescope pier for my backyard. He took the time to discuss the dimensions, materials, and finish with me to suit my needs. I am extremely pleased with what Metalink was able to create. Alan was very helpful in the process and even came in on Saturday so I could pick it up.

I called to get a quote for a custom patio cover. They wasted my time. Had an appointment for an estimate. No call, no show. Said they had a sick kid unexpectedly, and would call me back to reschedule. Never called. Called a few weeks later to try again. Received one voice mail from their guy. I returned the call, and never heard from him again. I'd suggest trying somewhere else.

I have purchased several products and used Metal Links welders on several of my projects. Alan Francis has always been friendly and helpful for some of my projects. I give Metal Link a 5 star rating for products and services rendered.

We went with Metalink because we have done business with one of their employees on an unrelated/personal level. At first we were encouraged as they communicated with us well re: timelines and expectations but that quickly went south once the fence was "installed". The first alarm went off when we measured the fence and realized they had shorted us 55-60 feet which equals about $675.

We had to bring this to their attention. Over the last 6 months, we have realized that some of the posts were not set deep enough, or had enough concrete or any concrete around them and that the main gate was set too far from it's post and could easily be broken/breached by my dogs. Numerous calls to have it fixed have been met with equally numerous broken promises to get back to us/get someone out there. When you spend 7K on a fence, one would expect better service and quality. Uber disappointed!

I recently welded up a custom roof rack for my Ford Transit Connect. I did not want to leave it bare steel and figured a sprayed paint finish would not hold up to the abuses of a commercial use roof rack. I looked at several local businesses two were way out of the ball park and one was close in price but was way north of my SE Travis location. I spoke with Gene at Metalink and he was very personable and straight forward about what he would do for the powder coating process. Metalink's cost was very reasonable and the turn around was quicker than quoted.

The finish was very nice and very durable. One of the first loads on my new rack, I accidentally drug a hidden staple across a side rail, making a sickening scraping noise, when I climbed up to inspect the damage I could not find any. Gene at the powder coating shop has done amazing work on my bicycle frames and is always ready to hear my thoughts to improve quality. These guys are great.

They media-blasted my old smoker and powder coated it back to life! They did a great job. I shopped around first and I felt the most comfortable with Metalink based on our conversation and the price. They waited until I came to pick it up to blast the expanded metal grill. They could have done it all at one time but they knew it would start oxidizing, It's always the little things that make the big difference.

I got it coated and seasoned as soon as I got it home. A year later I have set up another small job with them. It's small enough that they offered to do it while I wait which is nice since they are a little ways out there. I am very happy with Metalink. Gene, their shop manager is very helpful.

Metalink did an amazing job on our fence install. The project was on time and on budget. Toni worked with us on the project from design through completion. We have received numerous compliments on the fence!
