It now seems unfathomable, but most of the North American continent was once covered in a primeval forest thousands and thousands of years old that was roughly the size of the Amazon River Basin. Giants formed a canopy high above. The trees that survived and flourished had to win the competition for sunlight and rain.On the dark forest floor, seedlings reached for the sky but growth was painstakingly slow. Uninterrupted slow growth, for the entire life span of the trees, lasted hundreds of years. This process produced trees which yielded wood of incredible density and hardness. But in addition, was beauty and shear size that is almost beyond our ability to understand.

Hi Pat, Beth and I love our reclaimed pine wood flooring that we had installed in our home earlier this year. We like it so much we did a couple of hall ways with some of the wood we had left over. We went with the walnut color and they look great and really accentuate our furniture. Everyone who comes over compliments us and asks where we got the wood.

WE LOVE OUR FLOORS! We were thinking about putting new floors into our Lake Highlands home and were not really sure what we wanted to do. Pat, the floors I purchased from you are my favorite part of my house! I love the fact that I am walking on floors that folks walked on in 1935 and that this beautiful wood is not being discarded. They are gorgeous, flaws and all, my favorite part. The crew that installed them was very professional and courteous.

Pat Hicks and his team at New Life Hardwoods are the best. We had a flood in our split-level home from the laundry room that quite literally spilled over into our den, kitchen and the bedroom/bathroom below. I was so fearful we could not match the gorgeous quarter-sawn oak from 1960 that was in the rest of the house. Pat Hicks was able to find reclaimed wood -- an exact match -- for our home, and his team installed and finished them beautifully.
My husband and I are very pleased, and Pat and the folks at New Life were a pleasure to work with every step of the way. The match is seamless! I cannot recommend his company enough, and his showroom on Slocum in the Dallas Design District is a must-see.
