Founded in 1987, Legacy Remodeling started as the window-and-door company known as Swingline Windows. But our satisfied customers kept asking us to do other work on their homes, eventually leading us to offer more remodeling services. Now, we work on much more than windows and doors-our services have expanded to include siding, roofing, decks and outdoor enclosures, as well as interior work on kitchens and bathrooms.
Our office is located in Pittsburgh, and some of our largest markets include Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park, Peters Township, and Dormont, among many others throughout the Western Pennsylvania area.

With the extreme range of local weather, many homeowners see themselves searching for roofers much more often than they should have to. The issue here is not only with the quality of the roofing installation-but also with the roof types that Pittsburgh residents are being sold.

We made a costly mistake with the Kohler LuxStone shower system, paying Legacy Remodeling to install. First, the shower pan didn't exactly fit our space or the initial placement wasn't ideal. No one came out before the job started to confirm measurements. Since the pan is short where it meets the back wall, this caused the rear wall panel to be flush at the top, but then to protrude almost half an inch from the bottom wall.
The curve at the bottom is visible. The installers didn't add any shims for adjustments. We have to add molding to hide everything. Kohler's marketing images do not show trim around the shower panels, so beware. The bowing of the rear panel affected the installation of the shower track and door. Legacy did try to fix this rear panel several times, making the extra space at the bottom of the wall slightly better, but it's still noticeable.
Another issue we had was the installation of the shower locker, which was visibly crooked. We could easily see this, especially with the subway tile pattern we selected. Legacy did return to adjust the shower door and straighten the shower locker or caddy. However, after prying the caddy and reattaching, there are lots of irregular gaps. The bottom right corner of the locker is also askew where it meets the pan, causing a large space.
The design of the LuxStone shower system does play a factor in the quality of this installation. There seem to be lots of gaps and seams that provide an entry point for moisture. We were not fully aware, but this shower solution requires caulking. There are vertical tracks in the corners where the shower panels slide and meet. However, caulk is used everywhere else.
The space at the bottom was very irregular in our application, requiring plenty of caulk. As we all know, caulk has to be replaced eventually. The panels also sit in a notch cut out in the shower pan. This notch is very unsightly and creates another avenue for water to trickle onto the floor. Finally, the shelves in the shower caddy are a bit flimsy and fall easily. Overall, we're disappointed with Kohler's LuxStone shower system and would not recommend it.
It could be that we were unlucky with our installation and others have had better experiences. Legacy Remodeling made an effort to address our concerns. But honestly, once it started in the wrong direction, there was no turning back. The only solution would have been to tear everything down and start anew.

I purchased two shower remodels from this company. I chose them because I wanted the Kohler LuxStone product. Their pricing was reasonable and their reviews were positive. The first project had a small issue that was resolved to my satisfaction. The second one took 5 full days, over a holiday weekend, leaving me with NO shower for the weekend. They should have finished on the Friday but, due to them putting in the drain pipe BELOW the ceiling in the powder room below, they were delayed.
In addition, the GM failed to call me back on the Friday before the holiday weekend, leaving me no choice but to stay at a hotel. The GM stated that he will not pay for the hotel bill. DO NOT use this company! They do not know how to communicate, do not stand behind their work and won't make it right. Let me be clear. The product is AWESOME! The crew was professional, and I am happy with the finished product.
My issue is with the management of the company. As I told them, communication goes a LONG way toward customer satisfaction. In this case, communication would have saved me (and them) $500 in hotel bills. As they said, they won't pay the hotel bill. But, how much will negative reviews cost them? I am an upstanding guy so I will pay their bill in full. An upstanding company would reimburse me for the expense I incurred due to THEIR mistakes and failure to communicate.

It was a very frustrating experience with the Legacy Remodeling Company. We signed a contract last August to have a shower and tub/shower installed in two of our bathrooms. We were told they were three months out on work. Ok, I understand that. Finally, after seven months the work was finished. There was always some excuse. I must first say that all the people I came in contact with were very friendly.
From the salesman, to the woman who did the scheduling, to the installers. BUT, month after month, in which I always had to call first and find out what was going on, there was some reason for delay. Our house is quite a distance from Pittsburgh, but they agreed to do the work. I know there is difficulty in finding all the necessary employees to travel that far, but if you are going to agree to do that, it shouldn't be a problem.
I think the company has difficulty getting their products from Koehler. They must get very few shipments in each month. One month I was told "we have all your parts, just waiting on the shower base". I waited several more weeks and did not hear anything. Again, I had to call first and find out. I was then told" oh, we got the shower base, but we gave all your other parts to another job" What?!
That is not the way to do business. They are robbing Peter to pay Paul. That was another month delay. Finally the work was being done. On the last day they discovered the wrong sized doors were ordered. Seems to me that is something that should have been checked over several times. So, it was two more weeks waiting for the correct doors. I would have loved to have said it all was great, but the business has some major issues.
The final installations turned out very nice, but Legacy and their suppliers sure didn't make it easy. If you think you are going to get a bathroom remodel in any quick fashion, think again.

We obtained four quotes for our 1930s bathroom remodel with cast iron tub and tiling on all the walls. We chose Legacy based on Zach's organized, streamlined, professional presentation that was not painful like Patete, an outrageously expensive company, who present over two painful, time-consuming work sessions. Legacy's strength in the whole job process was Matt, our appointed crew leader. Matt was highly skilled and knowledgeable about every step of the remodel with extra care and diligence taken to complete the job correctly.
He was a power horse of a worker and even helped with tear-out and clean-up, to keep the job on a proper timeline. We are very pleased with our renovation and the price paid.

From quote to installation, the Legacy team was informative, precise, efficient and considerate. I had windows installed, and, I am very happy with the results. The installers were personable and neat in the work; explaining the process and demonstrating the windows. I would definitely use Legacy again if the need arises. I highly recommend the company.

I had Legacy Remodeling build a small side porch with a vinyl railing this past year (2021). It was the worst job ever done on my home by a contractor. They originally denied all the the substandard work {(such as crooked and loose railing, no bottom covers on posts, etc.(photos are available upon requested)}. The job had to be redone after being verbally abused by the Project Manger, Alan and the President, Jeff Moeslein.
I had my own handyman fix a few issues after the job was completed for the second time. I didn't want to be verbally abused again (I was told I was liar, insane and off my medication by Jeff Moeslein). Trying to Intimidate women and senior citizens is a poor business practice. I've told everyone I can not to use this contractor. And, I would have reservations about the reviews on Google. A number of these individuals have a relationship to the company including Ken Moeslein the owner. Beware!

We had a leaky porch ceiling( roof had since been repaired). Called Lagacy Remodeling for an estimate, came the next day and gave a price, said there may be wood damage, which I expected. The quote and the extra cost for the wood damage was well worth it. They did an excellent job and looks beautiful. The workers were on time and courteous. We would use them again.

We had Legacy to re-do the siding on our home and I would 100% recommend them to all of my friends and family. Their team was very clean, professional and did an even better job than we could have anticipated. Can't forget to mention, they were very quick! Our home has never looked better in the 20+ years that we've been here! Will definitely use Legacy again in any outdoor remodels we decide on in the future.

I had a great experience with Legacy Remodeling when they came in and did an amazing job replacing my house siding. Not only did Jerry and his crew leave my yard cleaner than when they started, their attention to detail when working with the weirdness of an old Pittsburgh home was on point. If I ever need anything done on my house again, I'm calling these guys. Thanks, Jerry! I couldn't be happier!

10/10 recommend Legacy Remodeling for any work they do. The crew was highly skilled, professional, and on time despite challenges associated with COVID 19. From our Design Consultant Ryan to the site manager and all of the crew, we could not have asked for a better experience. We did extensive research before taking on a large siding and decking project and they were the best value AND best performance! I will use their services again and encourage all friends and family to use Legacy.

We shopped around a lot for new siding before deciding on Legacy. Not only were they professional to work with, but flexible with our preferences, extremely thorough, and meticulous in the actual work completed. It was finished much quicker than we expected and they had a plethora of visuals for us to explore prior to finalizing details, including digital imaging so we could see how our house would look with various options. We are completely satisfied and look forward to working with Legacy Remodeling for many years to come!

Legacy Remodeling was fantastic and very professional. Our century old home required two-toned, two-material windows (wood on the inside, vinyl on the outside). We shopped around and Legacy was the only company able to match exactly what we needed at an appropriate cost. The sales process was a no-pressure environment and the installation process could not have been smoother. They really hire great people at Legacy Remodeling that care about their work and the precision it requires. We highly recommend using them.

We found Legacy Remodeling at the Pgh Irish Festival this year and had been thinking about getting new windows. We had them in for a quote and their prices against the others were excellent and so we went with them. The whole process was very smooth and they finished early and the windows turned out great.
