I would say the sales side was great. I would rate the sales gentleman five stars. I called for service afterwards. Never got a callback. They had something with the acrylic to come and fix. No one has called or reach out in anyway. Was also told I would get two years free of chemicals.never got them. Told by the installer that he would give me two more years of chemicals for having to change dates of installation. Communication was terrible after the sale. They don't do what they can to button up deals.

The best pool place around by far. We've been shopping around for a pool and hot tub for awhile. We came in today and David helped us. We couldn't have asked for a nicer guy. He explained everything to us and was very knowledgeable. Best prices by far. Everything was extremely convenient and very fast. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a pool or hot tub.

I contacted Backyard Leisure through their contact form and David McKinney reached out to me. I drove to the store, which was about 45 minutes away. They were really busy, which is something you do want to see since that obviously says something about the business, but the guys in there were friendly and ready to help. I got up with David, picked my tub out and I cannot wait for it to be delivered in a few weeks.

There were no hidden strings with the purchase and David was upfront and clear about everything, both with the purchase, and what to expect for delivery. So far, it has been a great experience. I'll update this review with more information and pictures after the tub is delivered.

I've been working with David Mckinney for the past week now in getting a 30ft pool installed in our backyard this summer. He is LITERALLY the best! He's answered every single question I had, is super responsive and even worked with me on his days off to make sure I had all the information I needed. Absolutely the best customer service and made this a super easy transaction and experience.

If you're looking to buy a pool but are on the fence. go with this company for sure and ask for David! Plus, this company doesn't require all the BS requirements [lien against home, make you purchase 300k insurance, etc] like other certain pool companies do.best decision, EVER! Thank y'all so much!

We are super happy with our experience at Backyard Leisure. The staff is very knowledgeable and the in store water testing is great. After 2 years of use, I had a couple of questions and requested a technician to come out and and to take a look. The manager, Ryan, helped me get situated with some control issues over the phone. The appointment with the technician was scheduled in an expedited manner and was executed the same way. A few twists and turns where the jets, come out of the rub and she's running better than ever. Thanks guys! I appreciate the service. Kudos!

We have been a happy customer for more than 10 years when we bought our hot tub. We just went back and purchased an above ground pool. Dave McKinney was awesome! He knew all the answers and helped us find a pool that met our (and the grand babies) needs. If you are thinking about an above ground pool - give Dave a call.

I have a $20,000+ pool that was improperly installed and collapsed it is $5000+ to rebuild it. I am 70 they took me for all they could get and robbed my retirement savings. Pictures coming.the company has them all! Watch out for thier adds/ratings they are fake, watch out if you are a senior. They will take your money and leave you an ugly hole in your yard and your bank account. I lost my retirement!

Amazing that I have tried everything to not leave a negative review. However, my experience with this company has me ready to proceed with legal action due to unnecessary damage this company did on my property. This is on top of the countless delays, leaking pipes, broken (brand new ) Hot tub installed, and just really horrible customer service from everyone.

Our PM (Emeril) quit mid project and Ryan will not return calls or act in anyway accountable for the things that Backyard has to take care of right down to the permit. The permit office confirmed that Backyard did not submit the necessary paperwork for the pool and spa correctly and now they have to inspect everything all over again. How is this possible that a pool and spa company does not know how to fill out paperwork to install a pool and spa?

You would think they would be embarrassed when a customer contact them but all you get is arrogance and a nonchalant response. The answer is always. "we will tell Ryan". guess what. Ryan doesn't do anything and you end up just calling again and again. My tree line which is no where near my pool was damaged by the pool installer back in May 2021. It is January 2022 and we can't get any response from Ryan or the owner.

Note I didn't even mention we signed our contact a Year earlier in May 2020 and we are still dealing with this messy company! I see the Mr. Owner love to respond here with the generic response of concern. Mr. Owner can you fix my tree line your company damaged and can you ensure my permit get correctly filed so I can be done with you! We have countless communication to you and your team.

If you are truly concern at all with all the negative comments your company is receiving you will do something besides respond to reviews. Horrible experience and it didn't need to be!

Horrible experience. We ordered a hydro pool spa in March 2021. It was supposed to be delivered in August 2021, however we kept getting the runaround because the company that was supposed to deliver it was no longer working with Backyard Leisure. We finally got the spa and used it just two times when it broke. This was in September 2021. Finally an installer came out and took a look and said that the panel and the pump were broken.

He then ordered the part. In the meantime he no longer works for Backyard Leisure but no one notified us that nothing was being done about our spa. Upon inquiry nobody had any idea at backyard leisure what was happening with our spa, nor what the issue was. After several phone calls to get someone out to look at our spa an installer came at the end if December.

He installed the panel incorrectly, Then didn't even test it before he left. He didn't even come with his own tools. He picked up tools at Lowe's on his way to our house. Nate is in charge of scheduling, however he never returns phone messages. Another installer came out yesterday on January 5 and said that both pumps were broken and the panel that Backyard Leisure ordered for us was not programmed for our Hydro spa. Nobody's has called us back and we still have a broken HydroSpa.

It's frustrating to pay $9000 for a spa and not be able to use it. Worst customer service ever. Every time I talk to Ryan I get the same story that he is going to fix the problem. I offered to return my spa but he said that he couldn't do that.

Buyer beware! I wouldn't buy anything from this company, I having issue with hot tub leaking water, It is under warranty and been waiting for 7 months for them to fix :( The manager of the store doesn't seem to care at all! I have sent Multiple emails and they don't even respond I have reached out and Ryan ( store manger ) a few times and he really can't explain why it is taken so long.

Don't buy from this company! You will regret it :( This is to your response: They haven't called and left voice, that is not correct, However I did receive a call after I email to Ryan and they called about 10 minutes after the email and finally got it scheduled. I have copy snap shot of my voicemails and missed calls and send to owner. Also yes "I" feel that you dropped the ball, and you guys definitely drop the ball and Ryan admit that he dropped the ball on the phone Friday and cant explain why it has taken so long. They finally ordered the part and has had it 3 weeks at the store and don't even brother to look for it. ***Buyers please stay away*** This guys are full of lies!

Take your money and business somewhere else. Management is horrible. Ordered an inground pool and hot tub in January of 2021, it's now August of 2021 and still no hot tub. Finally got the pool finished last week and that was an absolute nightmare. It was supposed to be complete in March! Inground pool has ton of wrinkles, pipes connected to filter are loose, they destroyed our patio and drainage system and that is just some of the issues.

They have stopped answering emails about the issues at hand. I am embarrassed to have people come swim in a 40k pool that looks like it was a DIY job. Do your research and don't believe all google reviews. Check out BBB, wish we did. It is now mid-October and still no hot tub. They refuse to give us our money back and we are coming up on a year since purchase! They have refused to fix any of these issues! I have talked to Ryan many times.

We had a good experience so far with Backyard Leisure. Our hot tub was delivered exactly when they said it would be. The only recommendation I would have is provide full service turn key particularly with first time buyers. Set up, electrician install and helping with the chemicals at home would be a huge help.

We purchased a prestige hot tub from Backyard Leisure about 5 years ago. The staff was great. They were informative and we did not feel pressured to buy. The install went perfect and was timely. Our overall experience was excellent. We would recommend this company to anyone looking for a hot tub. We have our water tested and get our maintenance chemicals here. Great experience when picking out and buying a hot tub. Took some time to get it delivered. Installer had no knowledge of the hot tub or how to start the chemicals. So I did my own research and had to consult with another company. Hot the hot tub ready and had some issues with the water. I was not informed that the hot tub had antifreeze in the lines.

That was costly to drain, purge, new filter, and fill back up with chemicals. Everything was good for a couple months until I noticed it stayed wet under the tub. Opened it up and it had a leak. Called to get it fixed, played phone tag for weeks. Finally got an appointment, installer never shows or answers the phone. I play phone tag again for weeks. Installer finally calls and has the parts for the third time.

At this point I have already ordered the parts and fixed the problem(took 4 days), out of my pocket. Even though the tub has a warranty, good luck getting anyone from this place to help or fix your problems. I will not buy again or recommend this place in the future. The tub frame is damaged from the water leaking and this should not have happened.

I purchased my pool 5 years ago and have enjoyed it more than I ever knew I would. I had a neighbor ask me where I got it and referred them to Backyard Leisure. They purchased a pool (larger and more expensive than mine) 2 1/2 months ago and they still have not installed the pool! My neighbor found their own installer and it is FINALLY going up today! I'm so disappointed that I sent them as a referral! Not happening again. I will use another company for my next pool!

Where to even start. We have pretty much had problems from day one! When we went in to purchase the pool we COMPLETELY EXPRESSED that we have NEVER had a pool before therefore we knew nothing about how maintain one, our sales guy (I am not going to name names) stressed to us that that was no problem that if we had absolutely any questions about the pool or chemicals they would be more then happy to walk us through it.

So imagine my surprise when I bring in our water for the first time to be tested and I am treated like and talked to like a complete idiot. I was made to be like I was 2 feet tall. For the record the "guy" who tested our water was not the same who sold us our pool. I have to say I experienced the worst customer service that I have ever received. He was a younger guy and was very detached and you could tell he genuinely did not care to help me.

I expressed multiple concerns we had and was told "not to worry about it." He also gave me a print out showing our pool was low on multiple things but didn't care to help us figure out what we needed to do to fix the problems. As a mother I have 2 kids that will be swimming in this pool I would like to know that the chemical levels are where they should be for their safety. I do believe at this point all they care to do is SALE you the pool they could careless about helping you maintain it.

We called Leisure Pool because we needed work on our pool they gave us the name of a guy named Darren. He came out to put liner in our pool by himself. I ended up having to help him and when he was done we had huge wrinkles in the bottom I questioned him several times and he assured me once pool was filled they would be gone. He also broke the panel around my skimmer.

He said he would be back to replace it and finish putting trim back around the top of the pool. I NEVER heard from him again! I called left messages and nothing! Wrinkles never came out! So decided to try and get ahold of him this year figured he wouldn't recognize my number which he did not. He then told me he would be out today to fix it. Again a no show and now will not answer my text or phone calls! SO BUYER BEWARE! My next call will be to BBB.

This is not the place to purchase a hot tub. We ordered a spa pool May, 2018 and paid in excess of $16K for our tub to be delivered by July 7, 2018. We were then told one day before delivery that the tub was not ready and would be ready by 7/24/18. Well we opted to take a like kind tub just a different color. Tub was delivered a few days later. Unbeknownst to us this tub was a floor model.

We requested that they correct this mess and we promised the tub that we originally ordered. Well the 24th has come and gone. Through many phone calls they final said they would deliver today. That came to pick up old tub but didn't have enough crew to remove and replace tub. The delivery crew just left. We still do not have our tub however they have been paid. We have called the owners and they have yet to return our calls from last Friday. I've attached pictures. Would you pay over 16K for this?

We started looking for a new spa back in June of 2017. After several trips to Backyard Leisure in Concord NC, and the excellent help we received from the salesman we finally made our decision. We chose the Bullfrog A8D for its quality craftsmanship, warranty, and size. The spa was delivered the first weekend in August as requested and setup took very little time.

Being a first time spa owner we made several trips back to the store with questions and or concerns. The response given by the Backyard Leisure team was outstanding. I would highly recommend a visit to the store if you have any interest in become a spa owner.

We have been trying to get them to come out and fix a leak in our pool for the past year and a half, they came out once and patched, which took me over a month to get anyone to come out, it is still leaking and it looks like another month before I can get anyone out. Also ignore my calls and messages. I may have to pay another pool company to fix it and fix it right.which I am NOT happy about. I have to keep adding water from my well, to keep pump going, and that is NOT making me happy either.

I'm giving them higher than I want right now I oh because the buying experience was pleasurable at the Concord office and Eric was very helpful at finding the right tub. Once caveat though is if you get the one that takes a 240 volt be prepared to pay around 2k for an electrical outlet if your panel is not anywhere near where your tub will go.

As for the Installers more can be desired. Eric promised us that they could poor a cement slab for us. We explained it was sloped and he says no problem except it was. When the installers arrived to pour the cement they said they couldn't do it and they would have to take down the fence, pull in a bearcat and etc for extra $$$. Mind you we asked several times beforehand and always got a no problem response.

So we went plan B to build a deck. For d tea $$. The installers delivered the hottub so it's now in my garage. They couldn't do it then so they scheduled to install the cement footings on Thursday and finish the deck on Friday. Well they showed up very late on Thursday ready to pour cement! Mind you these were the same guys out there before so they should have known better!

So I insisted they get started so they dug holes and went to lowes and bought wood and they installed the footing (not cemented yet) and framed the base but not all of it. They promised they would come back the next day and call me before hand Well it's Friday no crew no calls no returned messages -nothing. They don't work weekends so I'm left with a hottub, A partial built deck and no end in sight.

So at this point right now I cannot recommend this company at all. Hate to say this but I should have went elsewhere. So consider this your warning! An update: Three days later and after multiple messages left still no call back. When it rains, they will have to redo the part they did because of no cement. I've put them down to one star because I now lack faith it will get done in a timely manner.

Apparently other projects money is more important than ours. Last update: it's been a couple of months now and we have the hot tub up and running. To solve our problem they hired an outside deck company to come out and build a custom deck at no extra charge. A couple of days later the BL crew came up and hooked it up to our wiring and set it up at no charge. I've had no further complaints since then.

It was more than a 3 month ordeal so don't believe the commercials that they will have it set up within a week because it's not true. I appreciate the custom deck but in lieu of what it to took to get that it is a little too late. If you decide to buy with them anyway get everything they promise in writing so you won't have to go with what we went through. As for the hot tub itself I can't be more pleased with the unit itself.

Total RIPOFF. Me and the Hubby casually went in to look at a hot tub. We looked ay more than a few and our eye landed on the MAAX481 (BlueShell). The Sales person Brandon Mullis was a bit pushy, but no more than usual for a sales person. There were several prices on the tub, however, the display model was listed at $9899.00 cover and delivery included.

Personally I thought that was a bit pricy so I did my home work and found the MAAX 481 listed in several places for under $8000.00 with cover, delivery, setup not to mention a 5 year full warranty. At this point our sales person was more than a little warm under the collar. Telling us this and that thing to make a sale. However, when he came back over and said the best he could do on the tub was $10,300.00, short of say kiss my ass we departed.

Remember Backyard Leisure your not the only place in Charlotte we can spend our money not to mention get better service, attitude and a better product, consider this a sales you lost I'm sure among many. Personally I recommend anyone shopping for a hot tub to avoid Back Yard Leisure RIPOFF RIPOFF RIPOFF.

We bought a hot tub. Good product. Decent price. The issue is with follow up and follow through. We purchased mid June. It was supposed to be a 4-5 week process. As of mid August (2 months), I am still dealing with issues (with no end in sight).

Went to buy a hot tub. Buy - not just shop. We were the only customers in the store with 4 adults and 2 kids behind the counter. We must have walked thru the entire store at least 3 times before anyone bothered to acknowledge us.
