Amazing Lock Service

We'd been having trouble with delivery + mail people not closing our small condo building front door all the way. So I bought a door closer, but the guy who installed it couldn't get it to work properly in part because of the vacuum created in our small lobby. I then called Amazing Lock and they sent Nick out, who worked his magic on the closer and now the door closes completely every time - and without banging. We are very pleased and feel safer now. Thank you!

Odd to give five stars to a company that I didn't need service from but that's the way it turned out. I submitted an e-mail request for a quote and got a response to phone the store. After explaining my issue the locksmith asked for a photo and I figured out the problem based on our brief phone call. Saved them a trip out to do what I could and appreciate their questions. Normally, I get my keys copied at Home Depot, but I had to visit Amazing Lock Service for a unique/old key. The locksmith had the key stock I needed and made three copies within a few minutes. The cost was comparable to Home Depot with better service. I'll be heading here for any future key needs!

We just moved into our new place and need to have the locks rekeyed. We only had a key for one door and not the other door or the mailbox. Nick came by and did everything quickly. He even drilled out the catch for one of the deadbolts that wasn't locking correctly. I can now lock all my doors perfectly!

On time. Fast service and we were able to have keys made before locks were changed so it saved us a lot of time and Bill was able to change an extra lock we forgot about on site, my bad. Also cost less than expected and all covid protocols followed. Could not have been easier. Definitely will use again and again.

Amazing. It's January 2021 &been using them since 2002. These are well seasoned professionals. If you want it done right the first time, this is where you go. I do and never been disappointed.

I've been using Amazing Lock for well over 20 years and have never--not once--had a bad experience. Bill recently came out and took care of six lock issues within an hour. (Our home was built in 1884 so finding a company that can work with doors, knobs and locks of that era is absolutely amazing!) Pun! Amazing Lock has my highest recommendation!

Needed a locksmith for my condo door and Bill from Amazing Lock showed up within 25 minutes of calling. Very polite and took him 10 minutes to get my front door open. Definitely recommend them.

I use this service for our condo building for lock changing and key cuts. We also have a couple of rental units they have done work on for us. They offer really fast response and friendly staff. Pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Buyer Beware. I recently used amazing locks. The lock they installed was not flush with my door. 2 days later a screw fell out. A friend took a thin flat tool to my locked door and opened it. We showed the video to amazing locks and we tried to work with the company for a refund. We were happy to pay for parts used and made right by a second company.

It seemed to be going well until they sent the faulty installer to negotiate a skimpy partial refund. He stood behind his labor and would not refund it. Frustrating to say the least.

I highly recommend Amazing Lock - they were able to schedule an appointment to come and change my locks in less than 24 hours after I called, arrived in the stated time window, and the locksmith, Bill, was very professional. They gave me a quote over the phone, too, which I really appreciated.

Professional & Knowledgeable. It's hard to find reputable work, and someone that is quick to respond. Came out for an estimate, left saying some research was needed. Called same day with a solution and fixed the problem. Pricey, but worth the work.

I find the owner and the employees of Amazing Lock Service to be reliable and very trustworthy. I like the fact that they are local and have been in the business for a number of years. Called Amazing Lock Service on a Monday afternoon after our front door suddenly wouldn't open. It was unlocked and the knob turned but the latch wouldn't unlatch. Bill showed up about 45 minutes later and had the door opened in about 5 seconds flat. He told me that a spring had broken and we needed a new lockset, but it would be difficult to find something that fit our old door because of its unusual dimensions.

After ensuring that it was ok to leave us with just the deadbolt for a little while, he removed the broken lockset and said he would look for something that would work and would come back in the next day or so to install a new one. Sure enough, he called me this afternoon (Tuesday) and showed up at 4:00 to install the new lockset which fit perfectly.

All told, Amazing Lock Service lived up to their name. They were able to open our broken door and install a much better lockset in under 24 hours and at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend!

We called on a Sunday at 8pm. Jake came out in less than 30 minutes! He was knowledgeable, nice and fixed our issue quickly. What was the issue? Well the door handle on the side didn't work in addition to the deadbolt getting stuck. Couldn't get out of the house! He needed to take the entire mechanism out of the door. Like i said he knew what he was doing. Gave me lots of confidence he'd get the job done. He even re-keyed the lock while he was here. Will for sure use Jake and Amazing Lock Service again.

Nick knows his stuff. Used a trick to get a vintage 1926 mortise lock working smoothly again. A nice guys too. He explained what he was doing.

Service was excellent, even when I missed the first time Nick showed up! He returned within 20 minutes of my returned phone call and fixed our beautiful but very old door lock and even made changes when another condo owner's key didn't work. Glad he tested them! Very reasonable price for the work done.

Great experience with this company! Nick came out to fix a malfunctioning paddle lock in our condo building. He was prompt and friendly, and explained what was wrong, and what he'd done to fix it. Later in the day, it got stuck in the hold-open position, and he came back at 5:30 pm to fix it, showed me why that'd happened, and how to prevent it from happening again.

I owe these guys a big one. I have a person who I am no longer friends with refusing to give a copy of my key back. For my piece of mind I wanted the locks re-keyed. I contacted them Monday morning and had an estimate within the hour as well as a time window. Jake was early but called to let me know he was 10 minutes out. He was very friendly and the job was done quickly and professionally. He even demonstrated that the old key no longer worked and only the new keys did. Thanks so much guys, you'll be my new go to!

These guys crush it. Called them over the holidays (yeah, this review is overdue) because the key I'd stashed to our apartment had been taken, and no one could get in to feed our cat. This service was recommended to me by our real estate company, as they knew our landlord and would be able to change the locks to the apartment while ensuring our landlord's master key would still work. (Hooray.) Long story short, I got on the phone with them, and a few hours later the work was done. Would've been great if they could've fed the cat as well, but hey, what can you do. Also, two little things: first, the key they made for our apartment is gold instead of silver, which is amazing because now I can tell the difference between which key opens our front door and which one opens the door to our actual apartment. (Yes, I know I could've just gotten a rubber thing to put on either key, but it's awesome that Amazing Locks just inadvertently solved this problem for me.) Second, the lock works 100x better than the old one did. I'm not sure how prices among locksmiths compare, but I was happy to pay what I did for a great service that gave me peace of mind. Give these guys a call next time you're in a pinch. They're Amazing!

Bill at Amazing Lock came out to my building to install a new front door auto closing mechanism and guaranteed the work a few years back. Now I had an old door that expanded sometimes with humidity and moisture and the door would catch and not close. Bill came out 7-8 times over the years to adjust the closing. He has ne er I charged me once for the additional time and did it with a smile and laughter! The best service I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN ANY INDUSTRY!

Professional, prompt, and always fairly priced. beware of other locksmith businesses who quote you lowball prices, then scam you afterwards. don't learn the hard way like I did. stick with Amazing Lock!

Amazing Lock Service is truly amazing. I had lost my keys and they came out after hours to re key my 4 locks. The service fee and lock change was reasonable and just the ease and service- they could have up charged. They also helped guide me on changing to multiple keys- no- and gave me duplicate keys.

Phil just came by after I called, wanting to upgrade my Lakeview shop's front door lock. After assessing, and determining my deadbolt was sufficient, he actually told me I didn't need anything. He offered to write up an estimate for what the most I could do if I really wanted but this guy clearly did not try upselling. And he made me feel so much safer about my shop security situation.

Now if Chicago politicians could be so kind as to do the same with this ridiculous crime spree so I stop waking up in the middle of the night to check my security cameras. Please and thank you.

I have used this Locksmith for over a decade, both personally and as the Board President of a 30 unit vintage condo building. They have repaired, placed and / or keyed the locks on 2 different units I own.

The customer service here is terrible. We got locked out of our garage and were told someone would be here within the hour to help us. I called back 1.5 hr later when no one had showed up yet and the owner said he no longer wanted to come out and cancelled the job.
