In 1956 R. B. (Bob) Payne and son R. W. (Bill) Payne formed Payne Plumbing and Sanitation Company to install septic tanks and do rural plumbing. Utilizing the basic business principle of providing quality service at a reasonable price, and always remembering that customer satisfaction is our most important goal, the business rapidly grew.
In 1960, Bill Payne became a licensed Master Plumber in the City of Shreveport and the plumbing department was expanded to include large residential and small commercial projects. In 1968 the National Association of Plumbing Contractors named Bill Payne the Contractor of the Year.

We LOVED our experience with Payne. They installed our new ac system. Their technicians were on time, very respectful and worked quickly. The Payne company made purchasing our new unit easy and stress-free. The financing application was done over the phone and we received the results within thirty minutes. The office workers also treated me great on the phone. We are very happy with our decision to use the Payne company.

Absolutely amazing company! We had our AC system break in the middle of summer, they were here within a day of calling for an estimate. There was no pitch to sell us something we didn't need, just facts. We couldn't be happier with our new AC system and how it was installed. Also any plumbing issues we call and someone is at our house ASAP and the issue fixed immediately. We do not go to anyone else but Payne!

Our service technicians were on time, super courteous, and extremely efficient. They completely replaced our furnace in our attic with the temps above 122 degrees in under 8 hours (and even with a lunch break). Thank you, Payne! Y'all are amazing! Technician arrived at the scheduled time. Reviewed and checked out the roof top unit quickly and efficiently. Determined what the issue was and presented the issue and the proposed solution clearly so that we understood what is happening. He informed us he would be going to the supply house and would return as soon as possible to make the repair. He returned within the hour and was able to make the repair the same day. He then checked with us to make sure everything was ok before he left. We appreciated his professional attitude, presentation, and appearance.

We have used Payne Mechanical for many years including installation of two central units. We have always been extremely satisfied with their prompt response and thorough job. This time, however, my wife noticed after the technician has left that he had tracked mud into the house and left several parts which obviously were no longer being used inside the closet where the unit is.
I deducted one star for this although I would normally take off more for tracking mud in but the company has done such a stellar job in the past I only felt that the deduction of 1-star was appropriate. We will continue to use Payne for all our heating and air conditioning needs.

BEWARE! This company has a billing policy aimed at gouging the customer! My family has been a long time Payne client, most recently having purchased supposedly the best residential air conditioning unit they offer a couple of years ago. Recently, we noticed that our home was not getting cool. We called Payne, and they came out with two repairmen that day to evaluate the problem.
After tinkering with a few things (and as the end of the work day quickly approached), the main repairman told me that he THOUGHT he had fixed the problem (because there was no clear issue with the unit), and gave me instructions to watch the thermostat overnight to ensure that the air conditioner was now working properly. That night when the outside temperature went down, the temperature inside the home did fall a couple of degrees; however, the next morning, it was pretty obvious that the issue had not been fixed, as it got hotter and hotter inside the home as the temperature outside continued to rise.
I called Payne back to let them know that things were still not working well, and despite it being a Friday afternoon, I was assured that I would not be charged any more money for a repairman to come back out, since it was less than 24 hours after the first service call for the same (unresolved) problem and would thus be classified as a "call back, " unless they found an issue/performed a service for which they would have charged anyway to fix.
The same repairman came back to the house, rechecked the exact same things he had checked the day before, and concluded that he just couldn't find anything obviously wrong with the unit. As I walked him out, he mentioned that he left an invoice on a table inside. I was absolutely FLOORED to see that he had billed me ANOTHER 80 dollar service fee (which I had already paid - and then some - the day before) for this call-back visit!
When we called to speak to a manager about this charge, he refused to waive the fee, explaining that only if the repairman had found a new issue, for which Payne would need to bill me to fix, would they have waived this service charge! I absolutely cannot believe that a seemingly reputable company would be so disloyal and unprofessional towards their customers that they would adopt (and so steadfastly adhere to) such a ridiculous fee structure.
Even for top rate service, it is unreasonable to double charge for repair calls less than 24 hours apart and for the same problem, particularly when even their repairman wasn't sure that he had sufficiently addressed the issue! Let alone, double charging for mediocre service at best. This billing and service (as I also suspect that they are trying to run down my warranty.) experience reaffirms why I should definitely be taking my business elsewhere, and I'll be telling everyone I know to do the same.
