Insulation
Report
Comfort Windows' cellulose spray foam insulation is three times denser than traditional fiberglass insulation, making it highly thermal-resistant and more energy-efficient. Because it is blown directly into attic ceilings, walls, and floors, cellulose insulation reaches into nooks and crannies that would otherwise go un-insulated by traditional rolls of fiberglass insulation.
Basement
Report
Our basement spaces are whisper-quiet. Our exclusive Dual-Density Acoustic-Soft Wall basement system absorbs 92% of the sound in a room. They're energy-efficient, too. Our basement wall panels have an insulating R-value of 13.5, which keeps your basement space energy-efficient and cozy, even in a New York winter. A typical basement remodel with us takes only about two weeks.

The crew that remodeled our basement was absolutely awesome. They arrived on time, always cleaned up at the end of the day, and took great care to keep the rest of our house as clean as possible. From day one to the last day on site, they were always willing to answer any questions we had or make last minute adjustments to ensure everything was exactly how we wanted it. We could not be happier with their work.

Comfort installed 4 new hopper windows in my basement. It took a while to manufacture the windows to the specifications for my old house, but worth the wait. The windows are clean looking and functional. Crew was very neat, even in the muck and snow of March. They were courteous and professional. Cleaned up all debris from removal of old windows. The warranty is also an important feature.

We had 2 crews come in. One for 5 windows and another for a corner shower. Our shower guys Eric and I believe Marcus were very professional and let us know what they were doing at all times. Had to come back next day to finish up but did an awesome job. The window guys came in and had it all done that day. With the pandemic they weren't sure when they could get to us but they got us in before they thought. With that being said we will be doing more improvements with Comfort Windows in the future. Excellent company

I am very happy with my experience with Comfort Windows. The quote I got had a lot of options for extended warranties but I don't care about that so I just went with the base price. I didn't get any other quotes because I liked the fact that they manufacture their own windows at a factory in NYS. It was probably 6 months between the time I called them and they came out and measured the windows, gave me a quote to the final install.
Everything is taking longer these days but that is okay. I had a small window in my office and I had a larger picture window installed, and the difference is pretty amazing. There is so much more natural light and my window looks out into the woods in my back yard, and the view and light are just fantastic. They installed a new picture window and other smaller windows in my lower level, ones that had weird coatings on which got all foggy and cloudy so they looked pretty bad.
The new ones are lovely and they are not drafty at all, they are well sealed and the rooms feels warm and the curtains no longer gently sway with the draft! The installers worked efficiently and 3 of them came to do the job over 2 days. I was very impressed with their skill and cleanliness, they put drop cloths down and wore plastic covers over their boots.
The installers have been working at the company for over 10 years, and were very experienced and competent. I highly recommend Comfort Windows. I don't know how their price compares with other places, I imagine they are not the cheapest in town. I got exactly what I was hoping for and am very pleased with my decision.

The crew was wonderful when they installed the two new windows in our family room! We are extremely pleased with our new windows which are beautiful sliders. Great pricing from the only company we will ever do business with for projects like this. In fact, we just contacted them to do another window replacement in our powder room Thank you all at Comfort Windows! Your friends, Bill and Linda Harrison (and our cats too)

A big thanks to Jesse and Chris on the install, and Matt for setting up the whole project. Their team was able to do an outstanding job and the end results were far better than i could imagine. They took great care of our project and was not invasive at all, very mindful and clean after each day and left no mess. Very professional would recommend for anyone looking to replace their windows and doors. Superior product and service! Thank you Jesse Chris and Matt. Outstanding

Got medium priced windows, not the cheapest or most expensive. However, they are very poorly made. They also don't fit properly, either too loose or too tight. Ultimately, we have to move the screens up or down, by hand, each time we attempt to open/close the windows. Disappointed in how soon they began to show wear-after first 1.5 years. The installation went off on time.
And when one of the screens popped out very shortly after installation, they did come out to replace it. Would certainly not go with this product again.which we will probably have to do soon. They are three years old and I don't expect them to last much longer.not will my patience at having to shove them up and down every time I try to open them.

We had all the windows and 2 sliding glass doors replaced by Comfort Windows & Doors in 2012 and while we have been generally satisfied with the quality of the windows and sliders, recently one of the sliders was not sliding very well. We called Service and they came out and told us that the frame around the door was rotted. Not wanting to void our lifetime warranty on the door, we asked if Comfort would remove the door from the frame so we could repair the damages.
After a few weeks, Comfort told us that WE could removed the door and it would not void our warranty. Since the door is factory assembled, the only way to remove it is a complete unit (glass panels and all). This meant trying to remove a excessively heavy door from our house without damaging it. Once removed, the extent of the water damage was evident.
There was NO waterproofing material or pressure treated lumber was installed under the door frame. Only MDF was used and construction adhesive. No aluminum flashing or drip-edges were installed either. Steel rather than zinc coated or galvanized screws were used. Minimal spun glass insulation was placed in the voids around the door frame and pine trim was used under the exterior flashing.
This led to extensive water damage and wood rot. The entire lower door frame, sill plate, rim joist, and sill plate gasket were perished. Much of the exterior siding (cedar) behind the pine trim was also water damaged. The rim joist failed to support the exterior wall and buckled causing the house to drop over 1/2" from one side of the door to the other.
All damaged material was removed and replaced with new. The door opening was leveled and wrapped in a waterproof membrane and the slider was reinstalled, trimmed to square, insulated and trimmed out. The whole process took 2 days and cost over $300 in material (not including labor costs). We feel if Comfort Windows would have properly prepared the rough opening before installing this slider, the likelihood of having significant water damage would have been greatly reduced or prevented. Instead, they only did the bare minimum to install the door. Unfortunately, we have another larger slider from them as well and worry this door will suffer the same fate as the first. Update: informing us at the time of installation about the potential risks associated with have the door and deck I close proximity would have been helpful, but that was not done.
As far as installation to "industry standards" goes, I am sure you follow ASTM E2112 regarding the application of water barriers and drainage pathways to effectively channel water away from the structure. If so, then we would have found flexible flashing and/or pan flashing on the door sill when we removed the door from the frame.

I stopped into their showroom to set up an appointment for an estimate for a tub relining. After having to change the time because the company made a scheduling error, the salesperson came at the rescheduled time and said I'd get an estimate in an hour. Instead, a couple of hours later I received an email saying his manager said they were too busy to do such a small job but if I agreed to have a surround wall installed, they'd do that job. As a result. I will not seek an estimate from this company for installation of any of their products.

This is the worst company to do business with. They damaged property, installed the wrong color windows and took forever to complete the project. The only thing this company excels at is shoddy workmanship. This company is cheaper than others in the area, but beware. You get what you pay for. And as for the owners comments. See below. They still haven't made eight all the damage that they have caused with the window and door instal.
This company says it will service you and that it takes customers complaints seriously up until they get their money from you. Now that they have my money they won't even return my calls to fix the still broken door

My husband and I ordered windows in July, they didn't come for the install until October 30th. Fine no problem COVID slowed things down. The installation team came, they were phenomenal! Sweet, professional careful. One of the windows was measured incorrectly and was too small, again even that wasn't the worst thing. What was worse was the shop Forman showing up at my house yelling at the installers in front of me.
Then add insult to injury the "manager " was going to call us on The following Monday and never did. The correct window was just installed this past week and finally we just heard from this manager who offered to take 250.00 off the cost of our job. Meanwhile that doesn't even cover the tip we gave the guys or the time at work my husband and I lost or the 8 weeks of cold air pouring into our house for the time the wrong window was in.
If it wasn't for the management we could have very easily lived with the time and the mistake. But they weren't even apologetic, let alone making a substantial discount for the trouble. Terrible.

I don't know how the salesmen at Comfort sleep at night. I've been roofing for 15 years. Half my life. I come back home to NYS (I live elsewhere) and my find out my mother purchased a 2 square roll out roof for $2600. For anyone who's not a roofer, let me break it down. Roll out roofing is a horrible, inferior, cheap product. The typical price for a reputable company to install lifetime architectural shingles, is anywhere from 350-600 a square depending on the location and difficulty of the job.
Standing seam metal (far superior product) also a lifetime roof, averages 900-1200 a square. My mother paid $1300 a square for this GAF, roll out crap. The materials for this job, cost MAYBE $300. That includes everything, drip edge, underlayment, (assuming they even used it) and fasteners. It's a garbage system and I'm glad they gave her a warranty on it becuase I can't wait until it leaks so I can speak with the salesman directly.

Comfort was the best decision I have made when it came to renovating my house. The service that they gave was top notch. The technicians that installed were knowledgeable and informative when I had questions. They were the utmost professionals and installed the windows quickly without any disturbance to the interior of the house.

Over the course of a year and a half, we have had all of the windows in our home replaced by Comfort. Each of the three times that we had windows installed, the crew was on time, knowledgeable, clean, and courteous. The windows look beautiful, have cut down on noise from outside of the home, and are a major improvement over our old windows.

Summer of 2015 had 8 new double hung windows installed. Everything was fine, until cold snap(-15) following winter. Glass frosted up between top and bottom frame. Four existing competitor windows were ok. Emailed staff with attached photos and got call back telling me it was from humidity(forced hot air heating system) in house. Then another call stating it was bad insulation in house. Again, it was just Comfort windows and existing windows were fine.
Never sent anyone to look at them. All smoke and mirrors. Fast forward to summer 2016. Salesman came down to price a new front entry door and told him about my window problem and showed him pics. Told me it was a simple adjustment. So, I purchased door. My error. After installation and crew left, I noticed screws missing from hinges and caulking wasn't complete. Didn't caulk top molding or where sill plate meets floor. Again, sent email with pics attached.
Not so much and a response of any kind. Notta, nothing. So, $6500.00 later, had to hire a guy to adjust windows and finish caulking. Get me once, shame on you. Get me twice, shame on me. Buyer beware!

There is a HUGE elephant in the room that nobody is talking about. Comfort Windows came and assessed our home and for whatever reason declared that they could not tap into our NYSERDA loans. This was false. This was an out right lie. They then proceeded to sell my husband a high rate mariner finance loan. Oh yes, it's 0% interest unless you are one day late, One time, ever.
I have found from the New York State government that this is a really big problem. Because we signed the FinePrint we are stuck with the mariner finance loan, but I plan to file A complaint with the New York State Attorney General. I have to believe that they have earned millions of dollars through these mariner finance loans when they are enrolled with New York State NYSERDA. We're not done yet

We replaced the majority of our drafty 70s era windows and our sliding door a few months ago. Comfort was easy to work with from quote through installation. They even caught an overcharge and refunded us the money. I like that the windows are manufactured in New York State, and they seem to be of great quality. The inside temperature seems to be better regulated.
The lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either, in case something happens. Installation went smoothly, though cleanup was not the best. I'm still finding nails and other bits in the yard from our September install. Even so, they did a great job with sealing and flashing. No more drafts! The best part about Comfort is the service. After install, we tried to install the glass shelf in our garden window ourselves.
Naturally we failed and tore holes in both side screens. I called Comfort and the next day someone picked up the screens, and we had them back in a few days good as new at no extra charge. They even helped my fiance install them and the glass shelf. We'll definitely consider Comfort again when we're ready to replace the rest of our windows and doors.

On 9/21/15 had a bow window installed in the livingroom and am very pleased with it. The crew that did the installation were professional - efficient, courteous and did a nice cleanup. However, my dissatisfaction is with the follow-up because there was also a small siding job to repair/replace a section of siding to the back of the house. Was told that because the siding didn't come from in from the supplier it was being reordered elsewhere.
Never heard back so I followed up with Comfort Windows on 10/12/15 and was told they made a call to the supplier and will follow up. If I didn't call Comfort Windows how long would I be waiting for them to complete the job? They do have my deposit for this job.

Needed basement windows and a kitchen window had several salespersons give us quotes Comfort Window was the cheapest but we also looked at quality of windows and installation. The job took awhile waiting for kitchen window but 2 weeks ago all were installed. The crew was very friendly, efficient and did a excellent job installing all the windows they look great quality windows were extremely pleased. Looking forward to doing business with them in the future.
