Rivas Roofing & Gutters

I had seen Rivas Roofing recommended on Nextdoor and so I called them 7 months ago. This experience could not have been worse. I agreed to pay $900+ for him to "fix" two areas in my tile roof which were leaking through the ceiling onto the wood floors, and another leaking into the wall filling up the wall and destroying sheet rock, insulation and artwork.

After a dozen or so phone calls back and forth, his crew came out and spent only a few minutes and left. Mr. Rivas stated my roof was fixed. I had my doubts and it rained only a few days later and both areas leaked like before. After probably 2 dozen more phone calls back and forth, a repeat of step 1 occurred. Only a few minutes at the house and they left.

Both areas leaked again with the very next rain. Agitated by now, I called to request a third visit and for him to let me know so I could be there while they did their "work". Mr. Rivas fought me hard on this point, but I finally got a phone call that they were on their way and I left the office to meet them there. For the first time, I brought the guy into the house to show him where the leaks were actually occurring so that he could hopefully pinpoint the locations and finally make a repair.

He went out side, and 5 minutes later they are loading their ladders back in the truck. I walked out and asked the guy to explain to me exactly what was done at each location. He stated simply, "we caulked it, it no leak now"....caulked a concrete tile roof...it didn't seem right but okay. Low and behold, it rained and both spots still leak just as much as they did from the beginning.

It was my opinion at this point that Rivas Roofing has no idea how to repair a tile roof, and has no interest in making sure the roof on my 7000 sq ft house is working properly. And so, I never paid the $932 as I awaited this guy's call. I finally received his call and explained that after three visits, they have done nothing to repair my roof and it still leaks, and I still have water in my wall that I cannot repair.

This was met by utter nastiness by Mr. Rivas, who threatened to "lien" my property and refused to acknowledge that I only agreed to pay him to fix my roof and he did not fix my roof. And so I simply paid the bill so I don't have to hear from this man again. I also think it is worth $932 to be able to explain to the community around me what type of business Rivas Roofing is, and what type of person Mr. Rivas himself is.

Received a great deal of needed knowledge on roofing products and installation. Phone calls were always promptly returned supplying courteous information. Ed is a wonderful salesman. Installers did a fantastic job installing and cleaning up - no short cuts.

Scott was great! We have had an issue with ventilation in our attic and he explained it was not the ridge vent or soffit sizes, but the structure of our roof. He explained we would have a better results with an attic roof exhaust fan. Thanks!

Unprofessional. They cleaned my gutters and left the debris all over the front porch and front yard. The owner runs the business out of his kitchen. Argumentative, rude, and doesn't follow through with his promise.

Our salesman Ed was very friendly and professional. His description of the job, diagrams, and attention to detail made it very easy to understand what was going to take place. The final roof result was excellent, fast and efficient! I would definitely recommend Rivas to my friends and family. I don't expect anymore leaks and if I do, I know Rivas can take care of my warranty.

It looks great. Mike was super and I would definitely use you again. I may need some additional work in the spring so I will for sure call Mike and have Rivas take care of it for me. Thanks again for your great work!

In the past I have received bids from gutter companies that were just completely outrageous. Thank you for not playing that horrible game. You guys were extremely fair and reasonable. I do appreciate it.

I own a handyman company and we refer all of our roofing business to Rivas. There are a lot of options in roofers, but they have always come through with fair bids and work.
