We have been working with BuildSense for over 10 years, when they first completed a massive transformation of our house into a home that we continue to love and enjoy. It is not everyday that you hear someone say that their builder is like friends and family, but that is what they are to us. We know that they will listen to us, develop a sound plan, and execute it with the utmost attention to detail and workmanship. We know that we can always count on them as a resource and for future projects.

BuildSense transformed a funky red brick split level into a sleek, modern, open, light, and welcoming space. Everyone who worked on site was skilled and friendly. Communications were fluid, informative, and timely. Excellent materials. This is the second project I've done with BuildSense, and would work with them again.except we're never leaving this exceptional home they transformed for us.

Although we did not work with BuildSense, we have the highest regard for their candor, even-handedness and creativity. Inspired by their ingenious, pragmatic approaches to solving problems with results that look awesome aesthetically, we talked to Randy and Kendall about an unconventional project that combined living and work space. At every stage, they were literally a joy to interact with.

From the simple courtesies of promptly returning emails and phone calls to the human pleasures of sharing bits and pieces of personal life. Our project did not happen as planned, but we hope to work with BuildSense in the future. They are awesome.

We have just completed the full process from initial design ideas and site analysis to completed build and have moved into our new house with an ADU (garage on the ground floor + one-bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor), and we couldn't be happier with the design and build process. The finished product exceeds even our high expectations. From the beginning, our team at BuildSense was easy to work with and incredibly professional in every way.

Communication was always crystal clear, and the team helped us navigate the tradeoffs so that we could build a house within our budget and prioritize the aspects that were most important to us. As with any construction project, we inevitably hit a few bumps along the road. BuildSense always handled these unforeseen challenges transparently and expeditiously.

In the few minor instances when BuildSense had overlooked something, they immediately accepted and corrected the situation right away. Critical for our long-term happiness in our new home, the site lead (who was on site from 7 a.m. until the last worker went home every day) took care to maintain open, amicable relations with our new neighbors, mitigating the inevitable nuisance of having a construction site next door.

Our project was about 75% complete as COVID-19 brought the world to a halt in March 2020. We were first impressed by how proactive the BuildSense crew was in acquiring materials and fixtures before shortages set in. More importantly, BuildSense kept our project moving forward while taking seriously the imperative to provide a safe work environment for their employees and trade partners.

Although the pandemic inevitably slowed progress, their system for keeping crews lined up led to as safe and efficient a completion as we could have hoped for. BuildSense has a reputation for being expensive, and we could have certainly gotten a bid and a contract for a lower build price from any number of reputable builders. But we appreciated that price offered to us in our fixed build contract did not change in any way - apart from additions that we made - and firmly believe that this is the actual cost of getting a completed product of this quality.

They took a great deal of time with us in the early planning months to price out every last item so that there was not a single surprise expense as we moved through the project. We valued their expertise in the more conspicuous aspects of green home building a green home such as solar panels, rainwater catchment, HVAC systems, and tankless water heaters.

Since building green was a priority for us, we particularly appreciated their thoroughness in explaining the ecological implications of various other decisions, such as roofing, siding, flooring, and tiles. Since we have moved into our new home, pretty much every day we have had another occasion to appreciate the BuildSense team's meticulous attention to detail and functionality. We are enjoying our house even more than we had anticipated and cannot recommend BuildSense highly enough.

I don't have adequate words with which to express how pleased I am with the product BuildSense has delivered. I'm so incredibly grateful for the efforts of the entire team. I have genuinely enjoyed working with and getting to know every single one of them. They have made, what some consider a difficult process, enjoyable and rewarding from start to finish.

We communicated with multiple builders to solicit bids for construction of a new home on an undeveloped lot. We were initially attracted to BuildSense after admiring a number of their completed projects. Once engaged, their professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm placed them in the top tier of builders we spoke with. They physically came to 'walk the lot' with us in our initial meeting, and a subsequent budget meeting was invaluable in setting realistic expectations by comprehensively reviewing all the different elements of our project. I would strongly encourage you to solicit a bid from BuildSense if you admire their work.

BuildSense has the best team. From the idea phase, to design, to destruction, to construction to fit and finish - you will be pleased. The staff is friendly and easy to work with, the contractors are the best. Be sure to ask for Ronnie as your foreman, he made the whole experience darn right "fun?", easy! BuildSense completed a significant renovation on our home (new metal roof, all new windows, new ductwork and sealing the crawlspace) and designed and built a new addition. Working with them was fun and we greatly appreciated their communication and level of responsiveness. They really listened to us and made our home into a place we love to live and entertain.

Their budget projections were accurate and any increased expenses were due to changes we decided to make while our renovation was in progress. We highly recommend BuildSense and look forward to working with them again.

How the heck did they do this?! In addition, the BuildSense crew was a pleasure to work from start to finish. We began working on schematic designs a year ago, and when the building phase of the project started, we moved out of our house for nine months. At no point did tempers flare, which is downright almost unbelievable. Who are these good people?

They are consummate professionals. They are artists. They are skilled craftspeople. And they are very good business people. Their work is of the highest quality, and yet they always find a great balance in cultivating and building the relationship with the customer. Maybe it is precisely because they value the relationship and make every effort to REALLY listen--perhaps that is what ensures the quality of their work?

I don't really know exactly what their magic approach is, but it works. My sense is that this is a group of people who have a clear mission and who love their work. It shows. And the BuildSense folks are fun to work with. Okay, I could go on and on. Listen, I have been involved with three other extensive renovation projects in the past 18 years--as I have helped members of my family upgrade their homes.

All the previous experiences were creative and enjoyable in certain ways, but also fairly exhausting and time consuming. None of these previous projects stayed on budget. So I do have a context for comparison. BuildSense ranks at the top. If I were grading them, I would give them an A+.
